Important

1] New defined contributory pension scheme as introduced vide Government vernacular Resolution Dated : 18-3-2005 and 6-6-2005 No. NPN-2003-GOI-10-P will be applicable in case of candidates other than Navsari Agricultural University employees.

2] The post of SC, ST and SEBC will be filled up as per State Government rules in all the posts. The reservation of posts shown above is for the candidate of Gujarat origin only, therefore other candidates need not apply against these posts, SEBC candidate should furnish prescribed & current years "Non Creamy-layerCertificate" in the prescribed proforma along with the application form, failing which, the candidate will not be entitled to get the benefit of reserved category.

3] Age relaxable in case of SC, ST and SEBC as per the State Government Rules.

4] For the candidate having Master's degree, NET shall remain compulsory. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009 and the candidate has at least two full length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date of submission of application. Those candidates with Ph.D without course work will not qualify for NET exemption.

5] The Candidates from Veterinary Faculty will be exempted form NET for a period of 5 (five) years from the date of appointment vide Government Resolution No. 142006-3282-Part-I-K-2, dated 23-01-2013 by Agril. & Co-Opp. Dept. Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar.

6] Except in respect of in service candidates, the period of time taken by candidates to acquire M. Phil. and / or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching / research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.

7] The candidate having Ph.D Degree prior to 2009 if without course work shall be eligible as per the UGC Regulations-2009.

8] Application through proper channel the candidates are advised to submit their online application (complete in all respect) before the closing date. However, the online application of hard copy through proper channel must reach within fifteen days of the closing date. SUCH APPLICATION RECEIVED AFTER PERIOD OF FIFTEEN

DAYS SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

9] All appointees will be on probation for a period of two years in the first instance.

10] Employees are transferable within the jurisdiction of Navsari Agricultural University where the similar post is existing.

11] The crucial date for determining the eligibility in respect of Age/Educational/ Qualifications/ Experience should be the closing date for receipt of application form candidates i.e.17/10/2013.

The general candidates will have to pay Rs. 1000 (Rs. 750 application fee + Rs. 250 processing fee). There will be no application fee for SC /ST/ SEBC candidates, however, they will have to pay Rs. 250/- as processing fee.

The application should be submitted online from website www.nau.in after downloading the bank challan and payment of processing fee in cash in any of the branch of State Bank of India.

The hard copy of the application supported with attested copies of certificates, pertaining to the qualifications and experience accompanied with the copy of the bank challan deposited in State Bank of India should reach to the Registrar, NAU, Navsari on or before Dt.17/10/2013.

The appointments will be made on merit basis from among the select-lists and limited to sanction accorded by the Government to fill-up the number of vacant posts as shown above.

Prescribed Qualifications :

A)(i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D qualification(s) in the concerned/relevant discipline and published work of high quality actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

(ii)A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/ National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level

b)In the event, the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

1.First Class Master's Degree in the Agricultural Engineering & Technology

2.Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D.

Degree in Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and industrial / professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of Lecturer.

Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

a)Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master's degree level in a relevant subject of the concerned faculty from an Indian University.

b)Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the University Grants Commission/ ICAR.

For the candidate having Master's degree, NET shall remain compulsory. Prescribed Qualifications:

A)1 Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master’s Degree in Agricultural Business Management/ Business Management (Marketing/HR/Finance)/ Administration in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/ recognized by the AICTE/UGC;

2Ph.D or Fellow of Indian Institute of Management or of an Institute recognized by AICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.

3A minimum of eight years’ experience of teaching/ industry/ research/ professional at managerial level excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree.

B)In the event, the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following requirements shall constitute as essential requirements:

1Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master’s Degree in Agricultural Business Management/ Business Management (Marketing/HR/Finance)/ Administration/ in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/ recognized by AICTE/UGC.

2A minimum of ten years experience of teaching industry/ research/ profession, out of which five years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent excluding the period spent for obtaining research degree. The candidate should have Professional work experience, which is significant and can be recognized at national/ international level as equivalent to Ph.D and ten years managerial experience in industry/ profession of which at least five years should be at the level comparable to that of lecturer/ Assistant Professor.

C)Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

A)1 Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master’s Degree in Agricultural Business Management/ Business Management Marketing/HR/Finance)/ Administration/ in a relevant discipline or consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/ recognized by the AICTE/UGC.

2Ph.D or Fellow of Indian Institute of Management or of an Institute recognized by AICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.

Age : Below 55 Years

a)Age relaxable in suitable cases of the employees of the Gujarat Agricultural Universities.

b)For the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment, a relaxation of 5% at the Graduate and Master's level for the SC/ST/ Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently- abled ) categories of the candidates.

c)The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks excluding grace marks if any.

d)A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991.

RECRUITMENT RULES FOR THE POST OF PROFESSOR (AGRI.

ENGINEERING)

Prescribed Qualifications:

A)A Ph.D Degree with first class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and experience of ten years in teaching, research and / or industry, out of which at least five years at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent grade.

B)In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

iFirst Class Master’s Degree in the Agricultural Engineering & Technology and allied sciences;

Ii Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and industrial/ professional experience of ten years, our of which at least five years at a senior level of Assistant Professor/ Reader,

Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3- Member Committee of experts appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
