Qualification and Experience

(1) Executive Engineer (C) (Sl. No.1)

a)      B.E/B.Tech or equivalent with first class from a recognized University/Institution in Civil Engineering;

b)      At least 7 years’ experience in the post of Assistant Engineer or comparable position in Govt. Department or PSO (Public Sector Organization); and

c)      Experience in Planning, Design and Construction of all types of buildings/roads suitable to the rural/urban environment

Upper age limit : 57 years

(2)   Assistant Engineer (C) (Sl. No.2)

(a)    B.E/B.Tech or equivalent with first class from a recognized University/Institution in Civil Engineering; and

(b)   3 years’ experience in planning, design and construction of all types of buildings/ roads suitable to the rural/urban environment.

Upper age limit : 50 years

(3)   Junior Engineer (C) (Sl. No.3)

(a)    Essential Qualification:

B.E/B.Tech or equivalent with first class from a recognized University/Institution in Civil Engineering

(b) Desirable Qualification

At least 2 years of post-qualification experience as Junior Engineer or equivalent grade in a University/Research Institution/PSU/Private Organization of repute, engaged in construction activities.

Age : Between 24-35 years

(4)   Junior Engineer (E) (Sl. No.4)

(a)    Essential Qualification:

B.E/B.Tech or equivalent with first class from a recognized University/Institution in Electrical Engineering.

(b) Desirable Qualification

At least 2 years of post-qualification experience as Junior Engineer or equivalent grade in a University/Research Institution/PSU/Private Organization of repute, engaged in construction activities.

(5) Public Relations Officer (Sl. No.5)

(i)                 Essential Qualifications

(a)    Postgraduate degree in Communication and Journalism with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognised University.

(b)   At least 5 years’ experience as a Public Relations Officer in a University or State/Central
Govt. institution or PSU; and
(c)    Writing skills in English and Malayalam as evidenced by publications in media

(ii)               Desirable Qualifications

Experience in Electronic media; editorial experience as evidenced by Books/journals/ Bulletins/Newsletters etc. edited by the candidate.

Proficiency in Hindi language

Upper age limit : 45 years

(6)   Assistant Librarian (Sl. No.6)

Essential Qualifications

(a)    Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade of 55%, where grading system is practised and a consistently good academic record with knowledge on computerization of Library;

(b)   Pass in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or other accredited test like SLET/SET in Library Science conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other Agency approved by the UGC; and
(c)    Ph.D degree as on the date of notification, those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D degree through

a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of M.Phil/Ph.D degree) Regulations, 2009 and as adopted by the University shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Note:   Those candidates who have applied against the earlier notification need not apply again. However, they may update their bio-data if they have acquired any other qualification/experience subsequently (without application fee).

(7)   Professional Assistant (Sl. No.7)

Essential Qualifications

(a)    MLISc degree from a recognised University

(b)   At least 3 years’ experience as Semi/Junior Professional Assistant or in an equivalent grade in a Library of a University/Govt. or Semi-Govt. Institution/Aided College/Research Institution

(c)    Adequate knowledge in Library automation and proficiency in computer applications

(b)   Five years’ experience as Section Officer in Administration/Accounts in a University or in an equivalent post in a Govt. Department/University/Educational or Research Institution

Desirable Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with good academic record

Age:  Between 18-30 years

Note: One of the posts is reserved for eligible Ex-Service personnel as per Govt. of India rule.

(16)        Driver (Sl. Nos. 39, 40, 41)

(a)   Class X Pass Certificate or equivalent

(b)   Current driving license valid for light/medium/heavy vehicles

(c)   At least 3 (three) years’ experience as a driver

(d)   Knowledge of routine maintenance of vehicle

(17)        Multi-Task Staff (MTS) (Sl. Nos.42, 43)

(i)     Essential Qualification Class X Pass

(ii)        Desirable qualification :

(a)      Working knowledge of English, Malayalam & Hindi

(b)      Two years’ experience in auxiliary/supporting capacity in an office of State /Central Govt. organization

(c)    Four  years’  experience  as  Personal  Assistant  or  six  years’  experience  as  Junior  Personal

Assistant/Stenographer in a State/ Central Govt. institution/ organization

Essential Qualifications

(c)    Shorthand speed of at least 100 words per minute

(d)   3 (three) years of service in the grade of Junior Personal Assistant/Stenographer

(e)    Adequate knowledge in Computer Applications

Age : Between 25-40 years for direct selection.

(20)        Technical Officer (Sl. No.48)

Essential Qualifications

(a)    M.Sc. degree in Chemistry/Physics/Botany/Zoology or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized University with at least two years’ experience in the use

of sophisticated analytical equipment in a reputed teaching/research institution ORM.Sc. degree in Chemistry/Physics/Botany/Zoology or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized University with at least 3 years’ experiencein the use of sophisticated analytical equipment as Technical Assistant Grade I in a reputed teaching/research institution.

OR

b) B. Tech. degree in Instrumentation with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized University and at least 4 years’ experience in the use of sophisticated analytical equipment in a reputed teaching/research institution


Desirable Qualification

Ph.D degree in Chemistry/Physics/Botany/Zoology

Upper AgeLimit :  45 years

(21)        Technical Assistant (Sl. Nos. 49, 50, 51, 52)

Essential Qualifications

(a)    B.Sc. degree Chemistry/Physics/Botany/Zoology with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognised University or equivalent qualification
(b)   3  years’  experience  as  Laboratory  Assistant  or  in  equivalent  grade  in  a  Laboratory  of  a
University/ College/Govt. or Semi-Govt. Research Institution/National Lab.

Age: Between 25-35 years

(22)        Laboratory Assistant (Sl. Nos. 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58)

Essential Qualifications

(a)    Higher Secondary/Plus 2 pass certificate or equivalent qualification in Science stream

(b)   At least 3 (three) years’ experience in a laboratory of a University/College/ Govt. or Semi-Govt. Research Institution/ National Laboratory.

Age: Between 20-35 years

(23)           Laboratory Attendant (Sl. Nos.59, 60, 61, 62, 63)

Essential Qualifications

(a)    Higher Secondary/Plus 2 pass certificate or equivalent qualification in Science stream

(b)   At least 1 (one) year experience in a laboratory of a University/College/Govt. or Semi-Govt. Research Institution/National Laboratory

Upper age limit: 45 years

Note:   Persons having higher qualifications than prescribed, except technical qualifications in the relevant field, shall not be considered for these posts.

General Instructions

(1)    Persons in service should apply through proper channel.

(2)    The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for Test/Examination/Interview. Where the number of applications received is large and/or where it will not be convenient or possible to test/examine/interview all the candidates, the University, at its discretion may, restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications/experience prescribed in the Notification.

(3)    Age relaxation as per Govt. of India rule shall be provided.

(4)    Wherever applicable, the written test/examination/ evaluation of practical skills, shall carry 80% of the marks and interview shall carry 20%.

(5)    Changes in Regulations on qualifications, experience, etc. issued by the UGC/Govt. of India subsequent to this notification will become mandatory from the respective dates of effect prescribed.

(6)    The University reserves the right to –

(a)     not fill up the post(s) advertised.

(b)    invite on deputation any person fulfilling all prescribed qualifications for written test/examination/evaluation of practical skills and or interview even if such persons have not submitted application in response to this notification;

(7)    The qualification prescribed shall be as on the last date of receipt of application.

(8)    Outstation candidates (beyond 20 km) belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories called for interview will be reimbursed single second-class railway fare from station to station towards journey expenses on production of ticket/proof.

(9)    Selection will be made on the basis of candidates’ performance at the written test/examination/ evaluation of practical skills& interview.

(10)  No interim queries regarding interview/selection will be entertained.

(11)    Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

(12)  Interested persons should apply in the prescribed format along with two recent passport size photographs, photo copies of all supporting documents and processing fee of Rs.300/- (SC/ST/PWD/ Women candidates exempted) in the form of DD from any nationalized bank drawn in favour of Central University of Kerala payable at Kasaragod.

(13)  Applications should reach the Registrar at the above address on or before 21stOctober, 2013The

University will not be responsible for any postal delay.

(14)  The envelope should be super-scribed with the advertisement number and the post applied for.
