NOTIFICATION
1. Applications are invited from sportspersons who have any of the following
achievements in Basketball (Men & Women), Volleyball (Women) and Football
(Men) for appointment in Kerala State Electricity Board under Sports Quota for the
year 2013.
a. Those who have represented the Country in International competitions during the
current year or immediately preceding two years, ie from 1
st January 2011 to till
date.
b. Those who have represented the State in Youth / Junior / Senior category in
National championships during the current year or immediately preceding two
years, ie. from 1st January 2011 to till date.
c. Those who have represented the State in National Games during the current year
or immediately preceding two years, ie. from 1st January 2011 to till date.
d. Those who have represented University in the Inter Zone Championship conducted
under the auspices of the Association of Indian Universities during the current year
or immediately preceding two years, ie. from 1st January 2011 to till date.
e. Those who have attended the coaching camp of the National team during the
current year or the immediately preceding year in respective games ie. from 1st
January 2012 to till date.
2. Age: Candidates should have completed eighteen years and should not have
completed twenty three years of age as on the date of the notification.
2.1. Relaxation of two years in upper age limit shall be given to those who have
represented India and participated in International competitions.
2.2. Relaxation of one year in upper age limit shall be given to those who have
represented the State in Senior National Championships.
Note:----- (1) Approved World competitions means competitions organised by the International
Apex Bodies of the discipline concerned and in which national teams are sponsored
by the National Apex bodies and cleared by the Sports Authority of India /
Government of India.(2) National Championship means the Championship conducted by the National
Apex Bodies of the discipline concerned once in a year and this doesn’t include
zonal level championships.
(3) Inter Zone matches of All India Inter University Championships means the All
India Inter University Inter Zone matches conducted under the auspices of the
Association of Indian Universities.
3. Selection Procedure
3.1 The selection of candidates for appointment will be determined by the total
marks obtained on the basis of achievements in the field of sports / games
as given in para (1) above, field selection trials and interview.
3.2 Number of vacancies:- The present selection is for 11 vacancies for the
following disciplines.
Basketball (Men) - 3 nos.
Basketball (Women) - 2 nos.
Volleyball (Women) - 3 nos.
Football (Men) - 3 nos.
3.3 When a candidate has a number of achievements in the discipline his best
achievement shall alone be considered for marks.
3.4 The field selection trials will be conducted by a panel of experts in each
discipline constituted by the Board for the purpose.
3.5 Interview of the candidates will be conducted by an Apex committee
constituted by the Board for the purpose.
3.6 The Board may, on recommendations of the apex committee restrict the
number of candidates to be selected under each discipline.
3.7 The selected candidates shall be ranked according to the total marks
obtained on the basis of the achievements in the field of sports / games as
given in para (1) above, field selection trials and final interview, in the order
of merit for appointment.
4. Instructions to candidates and General Conditions
4.1 Application and identification forms:- Candidates should apply in the format
appended as Annexure – I typed on white plain paper of A4 size. The
application should be filled up in the candidates own handwriting, dated and
signed by him. The Identification form in Annexure – II should be duly filled
up by the candidate, dated and signed and authenticated by the Identifying
Officer who should be a Gazetted Officer. The candidates who are already
employed under Government of India or any State Governments or employed with any Public Sector Undertakings owned or controlled by the
said Governments, should sent their applications along with the No
Objection Certificate in the prescribed form as shown in Annexure – III from
the employer. If the No Objection Certificate is not produced along with the
application, it will be summarily rejected.
4.2 Enclosures:- The following enclosures should be submitted along with the
application form.
4.2.i) Copies of documents in support of age and date of birth.
4.2.ii) Copies of documents to prove educational qualifications (including mark
list) and experience.
4.2.iii) Copies of documents obtained from Sports Organizations / Universities
concerned, which conducted the Championship clearly specifying the
year and month of participation to prove the achievements in sports
mentioned in paragraph 1 of this notification. Certificates issued by any
other Association / Organisation will not be accepted.
4.2.iv) Two copies of recent passport size photographs of the candidate one
pasted and signed by the candidate on the application form and the
other with the identification certificate (prescribed in Annexure II) duly
attested by a Gazetted Officer.
4.2.v) Identification certificate (in the prescribed format – with the application in
Annexure II).
4.3 All the copies of the documents sent along with the application should be
self attested.
4.4 Whom to address:- The application complete in all respects along with its
enclosures should be sent in envelopes superscripted “ Application for
recruitment under Sports Quota for the Year 2013”, addressed to

4.5 Last date:- The last date for receipt of the application in the office is
19–10–2013 5.00 PM. Belated applications will not be considered. 4.7 Invalid applications:-
(a) The applications having the following defects / irregularities will
summarily be rejected;
(i) Incomplete or illegible.
(ii) Unsigned.
(iii) Without the requisite number of photographs and enclosures.
(iv) Unattested copies of documents.
(v) Identification certificate not properly authenticated.
(vi) Applications submitted without No Objection Certificate from the
employer in case of candidates who are already employed in the
service of the Government of India or any State Governments or
employed with any Public Sector Undertakings of the said
Governments.
(b) The candidate should ensure that he / she fulfils the eligibility
criteria and that the particulars furnished by him / her are correct in
all respects.
5. Appointment
5.1 The selected sports persons will be appointed against posts commensurate to
their educational qualifications. The Board reserves the right to
employment commensurate with qualification and the same is not liable
to be questioned in any manner. They shall represent the Board in
various tournaments for a period of five years from their date of joining
duty and their appointment shall be purely provisional and shall be
regularised only on completion of the requisite contractual obligations.
5.2 Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification for appointment.
