Applications are invited for the following temporary posts tenable at TCIS, Hyderabad:
1. DESKTOP ENGINEER: One Post (Unreserved): consolidated salary. Salary will be fixed
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary Range: Rs. 18,000 - Rs. 22,000 P.M.
(including HRA and other allowances).
Qualifications & Experience:
First Class Diploma in Hardware/Software Applications or 1 year Certification course in
Hardware/Networking maintenance from a reputed and recognized Institute. Deserving fresh
graduates will also be considered for this position.
Essential skills:
(i) Working knowledge in Windows / Linux / Mac Environment
(ii) Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologies
(iii) Installation and troubleshooting of Desktop PC's, Printers and other peripheral devices.
(iv) Installation and troubleshooting of Wireless networks
Desirable skills:
(i) Microsoft or Redhat Linux certification
(ii) CCNA certification
(iii) 1 year work experience
Age: Below 24 years as on 01-07-2013.
2. SYSTEMS ENGINEER: One Post (Unreserved): consolidated salary. Salary will be fixed
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary Range: Rs. 29,000 - Rs. 36,000 P.M.
(including HRA and other allowances).
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with 2-3 years experience in
the relevant field.
Essential skills:
(i) Linux systems administration
(ii) Proficient in networking concepts able to administer a L2/L3 managed LAN
(iii) Working knowledge and ability to administer Internet leased lines
(iv) Working knowledge of computer architecture, storage, and networking concepts
(v) Understanding of BASH shell scripting including understanding existing scripts and writing new
scripts.
(vi) Software installation and maintenance on Linux, UNIX, Windows and Mac operating systems
(vii) Ability to learn on the job
(viii) English language communication skills.
(ix) Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
Desirable skills:
(i) Working knowledge of parallel programming.
(ii) Working knowledge of MPI, Open MP, Pthreads etc.
(iii) Exposure to parallel file systems such as Gluster FS or Lustre.

3. SCIENTIFIC OFFICER: One Post (Unreserved): consolidated salary. Salary will be fixed
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary Range: Rs. 47,000 - Rs. 55,000 P.M.
(including HRA and other allowances).
Qualifications & Experience:
Ph D degree in a scientific or technological area, with research work involving scientific computation
and/or intensive computational data analysis in a high performance computing environment. M Sc/M
Tech degree holders with 3 – 5 years experience may also apply.
Essential skills:
(i) Software installation and maintenance on super-computers.
(ii) Knowledge and experience with parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP/GPGPU)
(iii) Exposure to CUDA, OpenCL, or MIC programming paradigm.
(iv) Exposure to parallel file systems such as Gluster FS or Lusture.
Desirable skills:
(i) Scientific computing experience of 3 – 5 years, either after a Masters degree or during a Ph D
degree, involving some of the following: management and code development for HPC,
handling large data sets, intensive data analysis, graphics and visualization, GUIs.
(ii) Ability to understand computational requirements of research projects and to assist in
development of solutions.
