SELECTION OF VILLAGE AGRICULTURE WORKER ON CONTRACTUAL BASIS.
The Deputy Director of Agriculture Bolangir Range, Bolangir invites application from
eligible candidates for engagement as Village Agricultural Worker (VAW) on contractual
basis in the Revenue District of Bolangir.
1. Educational Qualification:
A candidate must have passed +2 Vocational examination in the field of Agriculture
oriented subjects such as Horticulture, Crop Production, sSericulture & Farm Mechanic
from a recognised institution. Those with +2 Science or Intermediate in Science from a
recognised institution may also apply.
2. Age limit
The candidate applying for the post of VAW shall not be less than 20 years of age
and more than 32 years of age on 01.01.2013 i.e. should have born between 01.01.1981
to 31.12.1992. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST / Women
candidates, 3 years in case of SEBC candidates and 10 years in case of orthopedically
handicapped candidates.
3.Terms and conditions.
A candidate shall be
I A citizen of India and permanent resident of Odisha.
II Of good character, sound physique and free from organic defect.
III Must be able to speak, read and write odia and shall have passed a test in odia
equivalent to middle english school standard ~r shall have passed ME standard
with odia language
IV Must know cycling.
V Should preferably come from rural area and come from small and marginal farmer's
family.
VI The selected candidate will be engaged on contract for a consolidated
remuneration of Rs.5200/- per month and will undergo in-service training in RITEs
of the state.
VII The candidates so engaged can't claim for their transfer to other district.
VIII The candidates engaged on contractual basis shall not claim for regularisation of
their service either during the period of their engagement of after its termination.
4. Method of selection:
In pursuance of the judgement of Hon"ble High Court in WPC No.22995/2010
dt.03.02.2012, candidates who have passed +2 vocational course in agriculture shall be
preferred to the other categories. This means that after candidates having qualification of
+2 vocational in agriculture are appointed in order of their merit (marks) in such course,
the balance vacancies, if any, shall be filled up by the candidates having +2 Science /
Intermediate Science qualification.
5. Posting to be filled up
The number of position to be filled up in the Bolangir District (revenue district) is as
follows, which is provisional and subject to change.

N:B: IN EVERY CATEGORY 1/3rd OF THE POSTS ARE RESERVED FOR WOMEN CANDIDATES.
Note: There is no specific reservation for men under any category. The fact that a certain
no.of seats are reserved for women does not mean that the remaining seats are reserved
only for men.
The reservations are applied for the total number of posts to be filled up. At present
1 % of posts of VAW to be kept reserved for physically handicapped category as per GA
Deptt.resolution No.3404/GA dt.13.02.2006 and such reservation will applied to only thoseorthopedically handicapped candidates who fall in OA and OL 'categories as defined in
the resolution.
6. Documents to be submitted.
The true copy of the following documents dully attested by a gazetted officer not
r below the rank of Class-II (Group-B) and signed by the candidate shall be attached with
the application form.
I. HSC examination or equivalent certificate in support of age and date of birth.
II. Certificate in support of passing +2 vocational examination / +2 Science/
Intermediate Science.
III. Mark sheets in support of qualifying examinations (HSC examination) or equivalent
and +2 Sc. / Intermediate in Sc. / +2 vocational examinations.
IV. Caste certificate from competent revenue authority in case of SC/ST/SE.BC
candidates.
V. Certificate claiming to have come from rural area and small and marginal farmer
family to be obtained from Assistant Agriculture Officer of the block.
VI. Character Certificate from two Group -B Officers (not below class-II).
VII. Certificate of good conduct from the institution in which he/ she last studied.
VIII. If employed, "no objection certificate from the employer is to be submitted".
IX. Two copies of attested passport size recent photographs.
7. Last date of submission of application.
The candidates fulfilling the above requirements should apply by post or in person
in the prescribed format available in the office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture
(Range) / District Agriculture Officers / District Website (www.balangir.nic.in) with
required documents as indicated above only to the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Bolangir
by 5.00 PM of 20.10.2013. A candidate can apply in anyone district of the state but not
more. Application received after the above stipulated date or incomplete in any respect or
applying directly to the office of the Director of Agriculture& Food Production, Odisha,
Bhubaneswar are liable to be rejected summarily.
