Admission Open for Ph.D. in School of Engineering
Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. programmes in School of Engineering of Shiv Nadar University (adjoining Greater Noida, District Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India) for the Spring Semester of Academic Year 2013-14 starting in January, 2014. The department wise research areas available for admission to Ph.D. programme and the essential qualifications (E.Q.) are given below. E.Q. for all candidates is a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the relevant specialization with minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade point. However, in some cases, exceptionally bright B.Tech. degree holders may also be considered for the Ph.D. programs.
Civil Engineering:
The broad areas are Wireless Networks, Mobile Sensing, Cyber-Physical Systems, Real-Time Communications and greening through information and communication technology. The applicants must have earned M.Tech. in Computer Science or Electronics & Communication Engineering from renowned Institutes / Universities. Exceptionally bright B.Tech. degree holders in Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics and Communication with some relevant experience may also be considered. Master’s degree holders in Mathematics and Physics with exceptional academic credentials may also apply.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering:
Exceptionally bright candidates with Masters degree or equivalent in Nano-Electronics, Signal processing or Communication engineering are invited to apply for Ph.D. program in relevant areas.
Mechanical Engineering:
For all specializations in Mechanical Engineering, exceptionally good B.Tech. degree holders in relevant areas will also be considered.
Selected students for Ph.D. programme are eligible for fellowship / teaching assistantship of Rs. 5.45 Lacs / annum in addition to some more benefits.
Application Process:
Interested candidates are advised to submit their application online by November 15, 2013 . The application should include details of all research / teaching / industrial experience as well as academic qualifications starting from Class X onwards.

- Water Resource Engineering (E.Q: M.Tech. in Civil Engineering with specialization in Hydraulics, Water Resource Engineering or related areas).
- Geoinformatics (E.Q: M.Tech. in Geoinformatics with proficiency in GIS programming (.NET, ArcObjects, Web GIS). The candidate should be familiar with Data Modeling.
