DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAMME/COURSE
ADMISSIONS (2013-14)
Distance Education Centre (DEC) of the University which started in the year
2000 caters to the academic needs of the students who cannot pursue formal
higher education. Flexibility in entry qualification, pace of learning at will and the
use of appropriate educational technology are generally associated with this type of
off-campus studies. The incidence of dropping out from regular courses, and not
being able to pursue their studies, despite their strong interest is more common
among women. Distance Education Centre, S.P.Mahila Visvavidyalayam fulfils the
educational needs of such women. (Only the women candidates are eligible to
apply).
I. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Application and prospectus can be obtained from the Director, Distance Education
Centre, Sri Padmavati Mahila University, Tirupati by sending a self-addressed,
stamped envelope (Rs. 45/- for Registered post) of size 28cms x 13cms along with a
Demand Draft for Rs.250/- on any Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of the
Registrar, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam payable at Tirupati with the
name and address of the applicant written on the reverse of the draft, or by submitting
the Demand Draft in person. Application can also be downloaded from the University
website www.spmvv.ac.in.
The last date for the submission of application 30-11-2013.
II. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The applicant is advised to read the Prospectus carefully before filling up the
application form. Defective and incomplete forms will be rejected.
2. No refund of fee will be made once paid. There is no fee concession for any category
of students. Fee once paid by the candidate will neither be refunded nor
adjusted partly or fully.
3. After admission, every student will be allotted an enrollment number which she
should invariably mention along with period of study in all her future correspondence
with DEC failing which DEC will not show any attention to such correspondence.
4. Change in address if any, should be immediately communicated to the DEC.
5. All communications will be mailed to the students by regular post to the address of
the students as per the records of DEC. The students are advised to make necessary
arrangements in their respective delivery post offices at their end to get the different
communications from the DEC properly without delay. DEC will not bear
responsibility for any postal delays.
6. Identity Card:
Every student admitted to a course in this university will be issued an Identity Card,
which contains the attested photo and signature of the student. The student should
carefully preserve this card until the completion of course. The student should
produce the Identity card at the time of i) Contact Programme Classes ii) receiving the
Hall Ticket iii) Inside the examination Hall, and iv) for entry into the office of this
Centre. If Identity Card is lost, she will be given a duplicate card on payment of
Rs.50/-.
7. The University reserves the right to start or not to start any course if sufficient
number of applications are not received.
8. Candidates should abide by the conditions, rules and regulations stipulated by the
DEC and the University applicable from time to time.
9. Filled in applications shall be submitted to the Director, Distance Education
Centre, S.P. Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati - 517502 by registered post/speed
post or in person.
10.The admission made in the current year will be valued for five years after which the
candidate should seek fresh admission
11. Distance Education Centre of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam will work as a
Nodal Centre for all the Courses.

III. COURSE MATERIAL AND CONTACT PROGRAMME CLASSES
Study materials as per the syllabus, will be issued to the students after admission.
Contact Programme Classes (CPC) will be organized for all the courses. The number
of CPC days will be fixed depending on the nature of the course. Usually the classes
are organized during holidays for the convenience of students. Attendance of CPC
programme is compulsory.
IV. EXAMINATION PATTERN:
Examinations will be conducted at the end of each academic year. Particulars of
Examination fee and scheme of examinations will be sent to the students well in
advance. Examination fee should be paid through D.D. in favour of The Registrar,
S.P. Mahila Visvavidyalayam, payable at Tirupati.
