Indian Maritime University, Kolkata Campus invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following posts on contract basis.


1. Deputy Registrar (Admn.) : 01 (One) Post

 AGE : Maximum 60 Years
Qualifications & Experience : Master Degree with at least 55% marks from
a recognized University Preferably MBA in Human Resource .
At least 9 years experience in educational administration / General
administration , Human Resource Management in Govt. organization /
University / Institute / Reputed Organization.
Emoluments : Salary will be commensurate to experience and will be
negotiable.
2. Junior Lab. Assistant ( Electronic Lab.) : 01 (One ) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 17,500/-
 AGE : Maximum 35 years
Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in Electronic
Science or Diploma in Electronic Engineering of 3 years duration.
Desirable : Experience and knowledge in Computer application,
Electronics instruments, repairing & maintenance and handling of
sophisticated instruments

3. Junior Lab. Assistant ( Mechanical Lab.) : 01 (One ) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 17,500/-
 AGE : Maximum 35 years
Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in Science
with Physics, Chemistry, Math or equivalent in appropriate field or Diploma
in Mechanical Engineering of 3 years duration.
Desirable : Experience and knowledge in Mechanical teaching
instruments /equipments, repairing & maintenance and handling of
valuable Lab. equipments

4. Technician Grade – I (Welding ) : 01 (One ) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 14,000/-
AGE : Maximum 50 years
Qualifications : H.S.c or equivalent or ITI / CTI Certificate in the
appropriate field .
Experience : At least three years experience and knowledge in welding,
Gas cutting, Gas Welding in industry / educational institute / research
laboratory

Desirable : Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Ex. Service man Indian

5. Technician Grade – I (Machinist ) : 01 (One ) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 14,000/-
 AGE : Maximum 50 years
Qualifications: H.S.c or equivalent or ITI / CTI Certificate in the
appropriate field .
Experience : At least three years experience and knowledge in
machining , milling, grinding, drilling in industry / educational institute /
research laboratory

Desirable : Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

6. Technician Grade – I (Marine fitter ) : 01 (One ) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 14,000/-
 AGE : Maximum 50 years
Qualifications : H.S.c or equivalent or ITI / CTI Certificate in the
appropriate field .
Experience :At least 3 years experience in Merchant Navy as fitter or 3
years experience in Indian Navy LME Division (Leading Mechanical
Engineering Division ) or Petty Officer in Indian Navy Mechanical
Engineering Division.

7. Technician Grade – I (Seamanship Instructor ) : 01 (One ) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 14,000/-
 AGE : Maximum 50 years
Qualifications : H.S.c or equivalent or ITI / CTI Certificate in the
appropriate field .
Experience : Petty Officer in Indian Navy having experience on boat
work, rope work, Ship maintenance, navigational duty at support level,
Maintenance of Deck equipment ,/ Bosun from Merchant Navy


8. Technician Grade – I (Carpenter ) : 01 (One ) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 14,000/-
 AGE : Maximum 50 years
Qualifications: . H.S.c or equivalent or ITI / CTI Certificate in the
appropriate field .
 Experience: At least three years experience and knowledge in carpentry
/ relevant field in industry / educational institute / research laboratory .



9. Assistant Librarian : 1(one) Post
 AGE : Maximum 60 years
Qualifications: (i) Master Degree in Library Science / Information
Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of 3 | P a g e

B in the UGC prescribed seven points scale and consistently good
academic record.
(ii) Working knowledge of computerization of Library
Desirable : M.Phil / Phd. Degree in Library Science / Information Science
/ Documentation /Archives and Manuscripts
 Emoluments : Salary will be commensurate to experience and will be
negotiable

10. Assistant (Accounts) : 1(one) Post
 Pay : Consolidated Monthly Pay of Rs. 17,500/-
 AGE : Maximum 35 years
Qualifications: . Bachelor Degree with CA (Intermediate) or
MBA(Finance) with at least 55% marks from a recognized University.

 Experience: At least five years experience in the field of Accounts, Audit,
Internal Audit under Computerized System. Applicant must have a
knowledge of computerized accounts.


General Terms & Conditions

1. All the above posts are purely on temporary & contract basis
2. The contractual period is initially for 6 months with a renewable clause.
3. Remuneration as mentioned above is consolidated monthly remuneration
inclusive of all allowances
4. The engagement is purely on temporary basis and will not count for any
claims for regular appoints.
5. Working Knowledge of Hindi and English is essential.
6. The University reserves the rights to relax experience in exceptional
cases.
7. The University also reserves the rights of rejecting any or all the
applications without assigning any reason thereof.
8. Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized
University / Institute.
9. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidates for being called for
interview. The decision of the University / Campus in all matters will be
final. No correspondence will be entertain from the candidates in
connection with the process of selection / interview. Canvassing in any
manner would entail disqualification of a candidate.
10. Experience prescribed may be relaxed in the case of exceptionally
meritorious candidates.
11. The University / Campus reserves the right to call only the requisite
numbers of candidates for interview after short listing with reference to the
candidate’s, qualifications, suitability, experience etc.
