trade post. In the cases where candidate applied for more than one trade/post, he will be

2. APPLICATION AND APPLICATION FEES
(i) Eligible and desirous candidates should send their applications in the proforma given in the
APPENDIX-‘A’. Application forms duly completed in all respects and after affixing latest passport
size photographs duly attested on the application at the space prescribed for the purpose be sent

to the authorities as mentioned below located within the State of domicile
of the candidate so as to reach there on or before 1700 hrs on 11/11/2013. It should be
superscribed on the envelope the “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (TECH &
TRADE) IN CRPF-2014-15.
(ii) Application fee of Rs. 50/- ( Rupees fifty only ) in the form of Indian Postal Order duly crossed/
Demand Draft/ Banker’s Cheque in favor of concerned DIG, Group Centre, CRPF i.e. concerned
application receiving Centres identified for their respective States mentioned below be sent by
General and OBC candidates along with the application form. No application fee is required to be
paid by SC/ST candidates and Ex-Servicemen. Applications of candidates belonging to
General and OBC categories will be straightway rejected if application fee, as above, is

(v) To avoid rejection of applications, it is in the interest of the candidates that the candidates
should ensure that the IPO/Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque being sent by them are in order and
have signatures and seals, etc, wherever required.
(vi) Fee once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.
(vii) Applications received after last date fixed for receipt of application i.e 1700 hrs on
11/11/2013 will not be accepted.
(viii) Name of trade/post applied for should be clearly mentioned in column No. 12 of application form.
If name of trade/post is not mentioned, then application will be straightway rejected.
(ix) Candidate can also drop their envelopes containing applications in the drop box placed for the
purpose at the main gate of the respective application receiving centres.
(x) CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATIONS TO THE CORRECT APPLICATIONS
RECEIVING CENTRE ACCORDING TO THEIR STATE OF DOMICILE. APPLICATIONS
RECEIVED IN ANY OTHER CENTRE/OFFICE WILL BE REJECTED SUMMARILY.
(xi) Incomplete applications or applications not in prescribed proforma (Appendix-A) will be
summarily rejected and no further correspondence will be made/entertained in this regard.
3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS ARE AS UNDER :
A) Age Between 18 to 23 Years as on 01/01/2014.
Relaxation
(a) Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years
for OBC candidates.
(b) The children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the
riots of 1984 would be eligible for relaxation in upper age by 5 years. If the
applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in
this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in (a)
above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District
Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be attached with
the application.
(c) Upper age limit upto 05 years is also relaxable for those persons who had
originally been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st
January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989. The persons claiming relaxation under
this category should produce a certificate to the effect that they had been
domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st January, 1980 to
31st December, 1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction
they had originally resided or from any authority designated in this behalf by
the Govt. of J & K.
d) The children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the
riots of 2002 in Gujarat would be eligible for relaxation in upper age by 5
years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so
provided in this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in
(a) above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District
Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be produced at
the time of recruitment.
B) Education
Qualification
The candidate must have passed Matriculation or equivalent examination from a Board
or University recognised by Central or State Government.

C) Technical
Qualification
i) For post of Constable(Fitter), candidates must possess either 2 year ITI
Diploma Certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle issued by National Council
for Vocational Training approved by DGET, Ministry of Labour which is an apex
body Or Diploma in Automobile issued by All India Council for Technical
Education(AICTE) approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development,
which is an apex body. Further for post of Constable (Fitter) the candidates
should have one year experience. However, wards of CRPF personnel who
have undergone training in ITIs run by CRPF are exempted from one year
practical experience.
ii) For post of CT(Driver), candidates should possess “Transport Vehicle”
driving licence and pass the driving test at the time of recruitment.
iii) For post of CT(Bugler/ Tailor/ Cobbler/ Carpenter/ Gardener/ Painter/ Pipe
Band/ Brass Band/ Cook/ Water Carrier/Safai Karmachari / Barber/
Washerman/Woman & Hair Dresser), candidates should be having good
working knowledge of trade in which he/she wishes to be enlisted.
iv) Candidates should qualify trade test at the time of recruitment process.

Note :-For getting relaxation in height and chest, candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis,
Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh,
Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are required to
submit prescribed certificate as per format given in Appendix-D.

E) Medical
Standards
a) Eye Sight :
i) The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction
i.e. without wearing of glasses.
ii) Colour blindness will be a disqualification for the above posts and if at any stage
of their service career, if they are found to be colour blind, they will be boarded
out as per SHAPE Policy in vogue.
b) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in
eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental
and bodily health and free from any physical defects likely to interfere with the
efficient performance of the duties.
F) DOMICILE
STATUS
The domicile certificate as issued by the competent authority as prescribed by State
Govt. in the prescribed form should be accepted to ascertain domicile of the candidates.
4. CONDITIONS FOR EX-SERVICEMEN
1. Ex-Servicemen means a person who has served in any rank (Whether as a combatant or as a noncombatant)
in the regular Army, Navy and Air Force of the Indian Union but does not include a
person who has served in the Defense Security Corps, the General Research Engineering Force,
the Lok Sahayak Sena and the Para Military Forces and
(i) Who has retired from such service after earning his pension, or
(ii) Who has been released otherwise than on his own request from such service as a result of
reduction in establishment or
(iii) Who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagement,
otherwise than on his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct
or inefficiency and has been given a gratuity and includes personnel of Territorial Army of the
following categories viz :-
a) Pension holders for continuous embodied services.
b) Gallantry award winners
(iv) The Territorial Army personnel who fulfill above conditions will be treated as Ex-Servicemen wef.

2. The relaxations in physical standards and educational standards for recruitment of Ex-Servicemen
are as under :-
(i) Physical Standard : Total relaxation

(vi) Age Limit : Age concession for Ex-Servicemen will be allowed in
accordance with the orders issued by the Govt. of India from
time to time and they will be allowed to deduct Military
service from their actual age and such resultant age should
not exceed the Prescribed age limit by more than three
years.
(vii) PET/Race : No race/Physical Efficiency Test will be held for Exservicemen
at the time of their recruitment in CRPF.
However, Ex-servicemen will be required to appear in
written test, trade test & medical examination.

5. SERVICE CONDITIONS
i) Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve any where within as well as out side the
territory of India.
ii) All the posts are combatised and purely temporary but likely to continue. The selected candidates
are liable to be posted anywhere in India or outside India and the service has all India liability.
iii) New Contributory Pension scheme to Central Govt. employees, which has come into effect w.e.f.
01/01/2004, will be applicable to all selected candidates.
iv) Wards of serving CRPF personnel, who are residing with their parents may apply either from their
home State or from the State in which their father/ mother is posted/ deployed at the time of
recruitment. To avail this concession, at the time of recruitment process (Stage-I) they will have
to submit certificate from the Head of Office of the serving Force personnel.
6. SCALE OF PAY
Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200 – 20200) Plus Grade Pay of Rs.2000/- plus usual allowances as admissible to Central
Govt. employees from time to time.
7. SELECTION PROCEDURE
Candidates whose applications are accepted will be issued call letters by the Application Receiving
Centres intimating place and date on which they are required to appear for the recruitment process. Stage-
I of recruitment process will be different for posts of Constable (Driver & Fitter) from that of all other posts.
However, remaining process/Stage will be same for all posts. Candidates will have to undergo tests as per
details given below.
STAGE - I (Physical efficiency test/Physical standards test)
a) HEIGHT BAR AND 5 KMS RACE (QUALIFYING NATURE):
FOR POST OF CONSTABLE(DRIVER & FITTER) - MALE
CANDIDATES ONLY
At the very beginning, candidates will be asked to go through the height bar and thereby,
candidates with lesser height will be eliminated and will not be allowed to participate in
further process of recruitment and will be given rejection slip intimating reasons for
rejection. Those candidates who qualify the height bar will be subjected to 5 Kms race to
be completed in 24 minutes.
Note:- The candidate (s) who do not qualify the 5 Kms race will be eliminated and will not
be allowed to participate in further process of recruitment and will be given rejection slip
intimating reasons for rejection by presiding officer.
b) PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST - FOR BUGLER/TAILOR/BRASS
BAND/PIPE BAND/COBBLER/CARPENTER/ GARDENER/
PAINTER/ COOK/WATER CARRIER/SAFAIKARAMCHARI/
BARBER/ WASHERMEN – MALE AND FEMALE CANDIDATES.
At the beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be subjected to one mile race
(1.6 Kms) to be completed as under:-
Male candidates - In 10 minutes
Female candidates - In 12 minutes

This test will be only qualifying in nature. Candidates, who do not qualify the race,
would be eliminated from the recruitment process by giving rejection slip intimating reasons
thereof by the Presiding Officer.
c) SCREENING OF TESTIMONIALS:-
No testimonial/ certificates are required to be attached with application form by
the candidates. Required original testimonials/ documents of those candidates who have
qualified 5 Kms race/1.6 km race as applicable to the post will be checked and only eligible
candidates will be permitted to the next stage of the recruitment. Candidates who fail to
produce the requisite testimonials/certificates will be eliminated from the recruitment
process and in no case candidates will be allowed provisionally. Candidates being
considered for vacancies reserved for reserved categories i.e. SC, ST and OBC shall
produce caste certificate in proforma as prescribed in Appendix-‘B’ and ‘C’.
d) Physical measurement/standard test
(i) The candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will be
screened for height, chest and weight by the Board of Officers. The candidates who meet
the requirements of physical standard will be allowed to participate in the written test. The
candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from
recruitment process by giving rejection slip, thereof, by Presiding Officer. Any dispute in
measurement will be settled by the Presiding Officer of the recruitment board on the spot
whose order will be final.
STAGE –II : WRITTEN TEST
The candidates who qualify in STAGE-I (PST/PET) will be informed in writing on the day of
PST/PET (Stage-I) itself about the dates on which they are required to appear for written test and
place of test. The written test will be as under:-
i) The written test will be of 100 marks consisting of two parts, i.e., Part-I - Knowledge
expected from a Class – 10 pass candidates and Part-II relating to knowledge of the
Trade.
ii) Part-I of Question Paper will consist of 50 objective type questions carrying 1 mark
each to assess the following:
a) General awareness / general knowledge
b) Knowledge of elementary mathematics
c) Analytical aptitude.
d) Ability to observe and distinguish patterns.
e) Basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi.
iii) Part-II of Question Paper will also have objective type questions of 50 marks, separately
for each trade to assess the knowledge of the candidate in respective trade. Candidate
applying for a particular trade will be given question paper pertaining to that trade only.
iv) The questions will be set both in Hindi and English. Candidates will have the option to
answer either in Hindi or English.
v) Questions in Part-I & II are to be answered using a pen. Use of pencil will not be allowed.
vi) The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours.
vii) Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile phone, calculators or any other
electronic/electrical device. Candidates, therefore, must not bring these devices inside
the examination premises. Possession of these items, whether in use or not, will be
considered as “use of unfair means” in the Examination and appropriate action will be
taken against such candidates.
viii) The category wise qualifying marks for written examination are as under :-
General/Ex-Servicemen 35 %

STAGE –III : TRADE TEST (PRACTICAL) :- (QUALIFYING NATURE) :-
The candidates who qualify in written test will be put through trade test which will be
qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks for practical Trade Test, a candidate must secure
20 marks to qualify. During Trade test, a candidate will be asked to perform any activity
pertaining to that particular trade for which he/she has appeared/applied. The parameters for
each trade will be as under :-
i) Driver : Knowledge of driving trade. Handling, driving, parking & maintenance of light & heavy
vehicles
ii) Fitter : Knowledge in automobiles fitter/motor mechanic trade. Handling of tools, etc.
iii) Bugler : Playing of Bugle.
iv) Tailor : Taking measurement of persons, cutting / stitching of Terry Cotton uniform/Civil Clothes.
Cutting / stitching of warm clothing/uniform.
v) Cobbler : Having Knowledge of his Trade. Polishing of Shoes, handling of tools, cutting of leather,
repair and stitching of shoes. Making of new shoes.
vi) Carpenter : Handling tools, cutting of wood, fitting, polishing and finishing of materials, Knowledge
of fitting of doors and windows / fixing of glass panes on windows. Able to make wooden
boxes, racks and to make a timber truss.
vii) Painter : Knowledge of colours, paints, shades, painting of sign boards, painting and
drawing/knowledge of spray painting of motor vehicle etc. Knowledge of colour scheme
by mixing different paints/ distempering. Able to write letters neatly on banners and
boards. Able to work out quantity of paints required for wood painting and CGI sheet
painting.
viii) Gardener : Knowledge of Plantation, maintenance of plants, Knowledge of seeds and their seasons,
fertilizer and manures.
ix) Brass Band : Knowledge of playing Brass Band instruments.
x) Pipe Band : Knowledge of playing Pipe Band instruments.
xi) Cook : Cooking of Chapati & Rice / Vegetable / Dal / Sambhar / Idli etc. for 100 men, cooking of
Meat / Fish /Egg/ Kheer.
xii) Water Carrier :: Washing of utensil, kneading of Atta for making chapattis for about 100 men and cutting
of vegetable etc.
xiii) Safai Karmachari : Sweeping of floors, open area and cleaning of toilets, bathrooms etc.
xiv) Barber : Handling of tools, hair cutting and shaving.
xv) Washerman/
Washer-woman
: Washing of clothes, Ironing of Khaki cotton Uniform, woolen and TC Uniform.
xvi) Hair Dresser : Handling of tools and hair cutting of Mahilas.
STAGE –IV : MEDICAL EXAMINATION
The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physically and medical fitness as
prescribed in the eligibility condition. The examination will be conducted only of those candidate
who qualify in physical measurement, physical efficiency test, written test and trade test.
8) APPEAL AGAINST MEDICAL EXAMINATION :-
A candidate declared unfit for appointment in CRPF in detailed Medical Examination, the grounds
for rejection will be communicated to him by the Medical Officer duly countersigned by the officer detailed
by the sector IGP. The candidate, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an
appeal to the appellate authority i.e Dy. Inspector General of Police, Group Centre, CRPF of concerned
application receiving Centres as stated in para- 2 above for review medical examination with a proof of his
fitness in the form of a medical fitness in form of Appendix-‘E’. The medical certificate will not be taken into

consideration unless it contains a note by the medical practitioner concerned to the effect that it has
been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been declared unfit by a Medical
Officer for appointment in CRPF. The appeal will also not be taken into consideration unless it contains
medical re-examination fee of Rs.25/-(Rupees Twenty Five) only through crossed IPO/Demand
Draft/Banker’s Cheque in favour of appellate authority and the same should be submitted within 15 days
from the date of issue of the communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer are communicated
to the candidate.
9) MERIT LIST
i) Merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks secured in the written examination for
those who qualify Stage-III trade test.
ii) Final selection of candidates will be in order of merit in each category on the basis of written test
marks whereas other tests are only qualifying in nature.
iii) In case of tie in marks, the merit list will be prepared in the following order :-
a) Older Age : The candidates with older age shall be higher in merit list.
b) Alphabetical Order : The candidates whose name comes first in alphabetical order (English) shall
be kept higher in the merit list.
10) OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS :-
1. Eligible and desirous candidates, who fulfill above eligibility conditions, may send their application
in the prescribed proforma (in Appendix-A) duly typed or neatly hand written and filled up in all
respects on full-scap paper, affixing latest passport size photograph duly attested on the
application at the space prescribed for the purpose)
2. The candidate should report at Recruitment Centres on the date and time (will be intimated to
candidates through call letters to be issued by State-wise Application Receiving Centres) at their
own expenses and no TA/DA will be admissible to any one. They have to make their own
arrangement to stay during recruitment which may continue for 10-12 days from date of
reporting.
3) The candidate should bring following certificates/documents in original with 4 passport size
photographs :-
(a) Matriculation certificate issued by recognized Board as documentary evidence in support
of education and date of birth.
(b) Candidates appearing for the post of Constable/Fitter should possess two years ITI
diploma certificate in “MECHANIC MOTOR VEHICLE” issued by National Council for
Vocational training approved by DGET, Ministry of Labour which is an apex body.
(c) Candidates appearing for the post of Ct/Driver should possess a valid Transport Driving
License (T.V.) issued by the competent authority as per norms prescribed in Motor
Vehicle Act.
(d) Discharge certificate (in case of Ex-Service men)
(e) SC/ST/OBC Candidates should bring their original caste certificates (issued by revenue
officer not below the rank of Tehsildar) i.e by Tehsildar/ SDO/ SDM/ADM /DM/ Collector
/Dy. Collector). SC/ST candidates should produce Caste certificate as per proforma given
in Appendix-‘B’ and OBC candidates should produce caste certificate as per proforma
given in Appendix-‘C’.

(f) Hillman or tribesmen certificate which should be on the format as prescribed
in Apendix-‘D’ (if belonging to any of the category and desired to avail relaxation in
height and chest as prescribed for such category).
(g) Other certificates in support of additional qualification i.e. NCC/Scout & guides/ sports/
proficiency in computer if any.
(h) No objection certificate in case of persons serving in Govt. Departments/Semi
Government Departments /Undertakings etc.
(i) Domicile certificate of the State, candidate belongs.
(j) To avail facility of reserve seats for minority, candidates belonging to minority in OBC
category must produce certificate issued by competent authority regarding belonging to
minority community.
4) The candidates can apply for only one trade. The written/ trade test will be conducted for the
applied trade post. In the cases where candidate applied for more than one trade/post, he will be
considered for only one trade/ post.
5) The department will not be responsible for any compensation or claim due to accident / injury
/damage if any, sustained during the course of the recruitment tests.
6) Canvassing in any form or bringing influence will not be permitted and candidates found
canvassing will be disqualified for the post.
7) The Selection of candidates will be subject to fitness in the chest X – Ray test and pathological
tests.
8) Qualifying in all tests does not guarantee appointment, as the offer of appointment will be made
only according to availability of vacancies at the relevant time from the merit list in the order of
seniority of the candidates in each category/ trades.
9) The candidate so appointed in the Force and subsequently seeking resignation/discharge as per
rules, shall be required to refund to the Govt. a sum equal to three months pay and allowances or
cost of training imparted to him, whichever is higher.
10) Selected candidates on their appointment in CRPF will be governed by the CRPF Act 1949, CRPF
Rules 1955 and other Central Government Rules and regulations as applicable from time to time.
11) The selected candidates will have to undergo prescribed training for specific period at any place
of training.
12) The Department has full right to make changes in or to cancel the recruitment process without
assigning any reasons.
13) Since the vacancies released state-wise, the candidates allowed for selection on production of
Domicile Certificate as enumerated in para-10(3) (i) above. No candidate of other States will be
allowed for selection against the quota of above states.
14) The vacancies notified can be altered / changed / increased / decreased due to administrative
reasons.
15) Decision of the Recruitment Board shall be final in the conduct of the recruitment.

size photographs duly attested on the application at the space prescribed for the purpose be sent

of the candidate so as to reach there on or before 1700 hrs on 11/11/2013. It should be
superscribed on the envelope the “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (TECH &
TRADE) IN CRPF-2014-15.
(ii) Application fee of Rs. 50/- ( Rupees fifty only ) in the form of Indian Postal Order duly crossed/
Demand Draft/ Banker’s Cheque in favor of concerned DIG, Group Centre, CRPF i.e. concerned
application receiving Centres identified for their respective States mentioned below be sent by
General and OBC candidates along with the application form. No application fee is required to be

3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS ARE AS UNDER :
A) Age Between 18 to 23 Years as on 01/01/2014.
Relaxation
(a) Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years
for OBC candidates.
(b) The children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the
riots of 1984 would be eligible for relaxation in upper age by 5 years. If the
applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in
this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in (a)
above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District
Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be attached with
the application.
(c) Upper age limit upto 05 years is also relaxable for those persons who had
originally been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st
January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989. The persons claiming relaxation under
this category should produce a certificate to the effect that they had been
domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st January, 1980 to
31st December, 1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction
they had originally resided or from any authority designated in this behalf by
the Govt. of J & K.
d) The children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the
riots of 2002 in Gujarat would be eligible for relaxation in upper age by 5
years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so
provided in this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in
(a) above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District
Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be produced at
the time of recruitment.
B) Education
Qualification
The candidate must have passed Matriculation or equivalent examination from a Board
or University recognised by Central or State Government.

C) Technical
Qualification
i) For post of Constable(Fitter), candidates must possess either 2 year ITI
Diploma Certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle issued by National Council
for Vocational Training approved by DGET, Ministry of Labour which is an apex
body Or Diploma in Automobile issued by All India Council for Technical
Education(AICTE) approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development,
which is an apex body. Further for post of Constable (Fitter) the candidates
should have one year experience. However, wards of CRPF personnel who
have undergone training in ITIs run by CRPF are exempted from one year
practical experience.
ii) For post of CT(Driver), candidates should possess “Transport Vehicle”
driving licence and pass the driving test at the time of recruitment.
iii) For post of CT(Bugler/ Tailor/ Cobbler/ Carpenter/ Gardener/ Painter/ Pipe
Band/ Brass Band/ Cook/ Water Carrier/Safai Karmachari / Barber/

Standards
a) Eye Sight :
i) The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction
i.e. without wearing of glasses.
ii) Colour blindness will be a disqualification for the above posts and if at any stage
of their service career, if they are found to be colour blind, they will be boarded
out as per SHAPE Policy in vogue.
b) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in
eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental
and bodily health and free from any physical defects likely to interfere with the
efficient performance of the duties.
F) DOMICILE
STATUS
The domicile certificate as issued by the competent authority as prescribed by State
Govt. in the prescribed form should be accepted to ascertain domicile of the candidates.
4. CONDITIONS FOR EX-SERVICEMEN
1. Ex-Servicemen means a person who has served in any rank (Whether as a combatant or as a noncombatant)
in the regular Army, Navy and Air Force of the Indian Union but does not include a
person who has served in the Defense Security Corps, the General Research Engineering Force,
the Lok Sahayak Sena and the Para Military Forces and
(i) Who has retired from such service after earning his pension, or
(ii) Who has been released otherwise than on his own request from such service as a result of
reduction in establishment or
(iii) Who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagement,
otherwise than on his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct
or inefficiency and has been given a gratuity and includes personnel of Territorial Army of the
following categories viz :-
a) Pension holders for continuous embodied services.
b) Gallantry award winners
(iv) The Territorial Army personnel who fulfill above conditions will be treated as Ex-Servicemen wef.

2. The relaxations in physical standards and educational standards for recruitment of Ex-Servicemen
are as under :-
(i) Physical Standard : Total relaxation
(ii) Medical Category : SHAPE-1 (One)
(iii) Character : Exemplary/Very Good/Good
(iv) Break in service : Not more than 24 months
(v) Education : Total relaxation
(vi) Age Limit : Age concession for Ex-Servicemen will be allowed in
accordance with the orders issued by the Govt. of India from
time to time and they will be allowed to deduct Military
service from their actual age and such resultant age should
not exceed the Prescribed age limit by more than three
years.
(vii) PET/Race : No race/Physical Efficiency Test will be held for Exservicemen
at the time of their recruitment in CRPF.
However, Ex-servicemen will be required to appear in
written test, trade test & medical examination.

5. SERVICE CONDITIONS
i) Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve any where within as well as out side the
territory of India.
ii) All the posts are combatised and purely temporary but likely to continue. The selected candidates
are liable to be posted anywhere in India or outside India and the service has all India liability.
iii) New Contributory Pension scheme to Central Govt. employees, which has come into effect w.e.f.
01/01/2004, will be applicable to all selected candidates.
iv) Wards of serving CRPF personnel, who are residing with their parents may apply either from their
home State or from the State in which their father/ mother is posted/ deployed at the time of
recruitment. To avail this concession, at the time of recruitment process (Stage-I) they will have
to submit certificate from the Head of Office of the serving Force personnel.
6. SCALE OF PAY
Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200 – 20200) Plus Grade Pay of Rs.2000/- plus usual allowances as admissible to Central
Govt. employees from time to time.
7. SELECTION PROCEDURE
Candidates whose applications are accepted will be issued call letters by the Application Receiving
Centres intimating place and date on which they are required to appear for the recruitment process. Stage-
I of recruitment process will be different for posts of Constable (Driver & Fitter) from that of all other posts.
However, remaining process/Stage will be same for all posts. Candidates will have to undergo tests as per
details given below.
STAGE - I (Physical efficiency test/Physical standards test)
a) HEIGHT BAR AND 5 KMS RACE (QUALIFYING NATURE):
FOR POST OF CONSTABLE(DRIVER & FITTER) - MALE
CANDIDATES ONLY
At the very beginning, candidates will be asked to go through the height bar and thereby,
candidates with lesser height will be eliminated and will not be allowed to participate in
further process of recruitment and will be given rejection slip intimating reasons for
rejection. Those candidates who qualify the height bar will be subjected to 5 Kms race to
be completed in 24 minutes.
Note:- The candidate (s) who do not qualify the 5 Kms race will be eliminated and will not
be allowed to participate in further process of recruitment and will be given rejection slip
intimating reasons for rejection by presiding officer.
b) PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST - FOR BUGLER/TAILOR/BRASS
BAND/PIPE BAND/COBBLER/CARPENTER/ GARDENER/
PAINTER/ COOK/WATER CARRIER/SAFAIKARAMCHARI/
BARBER/ WASHERMEN – MALE AND FEMALE CANDIDATES.
At the beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be subjected to one mile race
(1.6 Kms) to be completed as under:-
Male candidates - In 10 minutes
Female candidates - In 12 minutes

This test will be only qualifying in nature. Candidates, who do not qualify the race,
would be eliminated from the recruitment process by giving rejection slip intimating reasons
thereof by the Presiding Officer.
c) SCREENING OF TESTIMONIALS:-
No testimonial/ certificates are required to be attached with application form by
the candidates. Required original testimonials/ documents of those candidates who have
qualified 5 Kms race/1.6 km race as applicable to the post will be checked and only eligible
candidates will be permitted to the next stage of the recruitment. Candidates who fail to
produce the requisite testimonials/certificates will be eliminated from the recruitment
process and in no case candidates will be allowed provisionally. Candidates being
considered for vacancies reserved for reserved categories i.e. SC, ST and OBC shall
produce caste certificate in proforma as prescribed in Appendix-‘B’ and ‘C’.
d) Physical measurement/standard test
(i) The candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will be
screened for height, chest and weight by the Board of Officers. The candidates who meet
the requirements of physical standard will be allowed to participate in the written test. The
candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from
recruitment process by giving rejection slip, thereof, by Presiding Officer. Any dispute in
measurement will be settled by the Presiding Officer of the recruitment board on the spot
whose order will be final.
STAGE –II : WRITTEN TEST
The candidates who qualify in STAGE-I (PST/PET) will be informed in writing on the day of
PST/PET (Stage-I) itself about the dates on which they are required to appear for written test and
place of test. The written test will be as under:-
i) The written test will be of 100 marks consisting of two parts, i.e., Part-I - Knowledge
expected from a Class – 10 pass candidates and Part-II relating to knowledge of the
Trade.
ii) Part-I of Question Paper will consist of 50 objective type questions carrying 1 mark
each to assess the following:
a) General awareness / general knowledge
b) Knowledge of elementary mathematics
c) Analytical aptitude.
d) Ability to observe and distinguish patterns.
e) Basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi.
iii) Part-II of Question Paper will also have objective type questions of 50 marks, separately
for each trade to assess the knowledge of the candidate in respective trade. Candidate
applying for a particular trade will be given question paper pertaining to that trade only.
iv) The questions will be set both in Hindi and English. Candidates will have the option to
answer either in Hindi or English.
v) Questions in Part-I & II are to be answered using a pen. Use of pencil will not be allowed.
vi) The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours.
vii) Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile phone, calculators or any other
electronic/electrical device. Candidates, therefore, must not bring these devices inside
the examination premises. Possession of these items, whether in use or not, will be
considered as “use of unfair means” in the Examination and appropriate action will be
taken against such candidates.
viii) The category wise qualifying marks for written examination are as under :-
General/Ex-Servicemen 35 %

STAGE –III : TRADE TEST (PRACTICAL) :- (QUALIFYING NATURE) :-
The candidates who qualify in written test will be put through trade test which will be
qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks for practical Trade Test, a candidate must secure
20 marks to qualify. During Trade test, a candidate will be asked to perform any activity
pertaining to that particular trade for which he/she has appeared/applied. The parameters for
each trade will be as under :-
i) Driver : Knowledge of driving trade. Handling, driving, parking & maintenance of light & heavy
vehicles
ii) Fitter : Knowledge in automobiles fitter/motor mechanic trade. Handling of tools, etc.
iii) Bugler : Playing of Bugle.
iv) Tailor : Taking measurement of persons, cutting / stitching of Terry Cotton uniform/Civil Clothes.
Cutting / stitching of warm clothing/uniform.
v) Cobbler : Having Knowledge of his Trade. Polishing of Shoes, handling of tools, cutting of leather,
repair and stitching of shoes. Making of new shoes.
vi) Carpenter : Handling tools, cutting of wood, fitting, polishing and finishing of materials, Knowledge
of fitting of doors and windows / fixing of glass panes on windows. Able to make wooden
boxes, racks and to make a timber truss.
vii) Painter : Knowledge of colours, paints, shades, painting of sign boards, painting and
drawing/knowledge of spray painting of motor vehicle etc. Knowledge of colour scheme
by mixing different paints/ distempering. Able to write letters neatly on banners and
boards. Able to work out quantity of paints required for wood painting and CGI sheet
painting.
viii) Gardener : Knowledge of Plantation, maintenance of plants, Knowledge of seeds and their seasons,
fertilizer and manures.
ix) Brass Band : Knowledge of playing Brass Band instruments.
x) Pipe Band : Knowledge of playing Pipe Band instruments.
xi) Cook : Cooking of Chapati & Rice / Vegetable / Dal / Sambhar / Idli etc. for 100 men, cooking of
Meat / Fish /Egg/ Kheer.
xii) Water Carrier :: Washing of utensil, kneading of Atta for making chapattis for about 100 men and cutting
of vegetable etc.
xiii) Safai Karmachari : Sweeping of floors, open area and cleaning of toilets, bathrooms etc.
xiv) Barber : Handling of tools, hair cutting and shaving.
xv) Washerman/
Washer-woman
: Washing of clothes, Ironing of Khaki cotton Uniform, woolen and TC Uniform.
xvi) Hair Dresser : Handling of tools and hair cutting of Mahilas.
STAGE –IV : MEDICAL EXAMINATION
The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physically and medical fitness as
prescribed in the eligibility condition. The examination will be conducted only of those candidate
who qualify in physical measurement, physical efficiency test, written test and trade test.
8) APPEAL AGAINST MEDICAL EXAMINATION :-
A candidate declared unfit for appointment in CRPF in detailed Medical Examination, the grounds
for rejection will be communicated to him by the Medical Officer duly countersigned by the officer detailed
by the sector IGP. The candidate, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an
appeal to the appellate authority i.e Dy. Inspector General of Police, Group Centre, CRPF of concerned
application receiving Centres as stated in para- 2 above for review medical examination with a proof of his
fitness in the form of a medical fitness in form of Appendix-‘E’. The medical certificate will not be taken into

consideration unless it contains a note by the medical practitioner concerned to the effect that it has
been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been declared unfit by a Medical
Officer for appointment in CRPF. The appeal will also not be taken into consideration unless it contains
medical re-examination fee of Rs.25/-(Rupees Twenty Five) only through crossed IPO/Demand
Draft/Banker’s Cheque in favour of appellate authority and the same should be submitted within 15 days
from the date of issue of the communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer are communicated
to the candidate.
9) MERIT LIST
i) Merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks secured in the written examination for
those who qualify Stage-III trade test.
ii) Final selection of candidates will be in order of merit in each category on the basis of written test
marks whereas other tests are only qualifying in nature.
iii) In case of tie in marks, the merit list will be prepared in the following order :-
a) Older Age : The candidates with older age shall be higher in merit list.
b) Alphabetical Order : The candidates whose name comes first in alphabetical order (English) shall
be kept higher in the merit list.
10) OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS :-
1. Eligible and desirous candidates, who fulfill above eligibility conditions, may send their application
in the prescribed proforma (in Appendix-A) duly typed or neatly hand written and filled up in all
respects on full-scap paper, affixing latest passport size photograph duly attested on the
application at the space prescribed for the purpose)
2. The candidate should report at Recruitment Centres on the date and time (will be intimated to
candidates through call letters to be issued by State-wise Application Receiving Centres) at their
own expenses and no TA/DA will be admissible to any one. They have to make their own
arrangement to stay during recruitment which may continue for 10-12 days from date of
reporting.
3) The candidate should bring following certificates/documents in original with 4 passport size
photographs :-
(a) Matriculation certificate issued by recognized Board as documentary evidence in support
of education and date of birth.
(b) Candidates appearing for the post of Constable/Fitter should possess two years ITI
diploma certificate in “MECHANIC MOTOR VEHICLE” issued by National Council for
Vocational training approved by DGET, Ministry of Labour which is an apex body.
(c) Candidates appearing for the post of Ct/Driver should possess a valid Transport Driving
License (T.V.) issued by the competent authority as per norms prescribed in Motor
Vehicle Act.
(d) Discharge certificate (in case of Ex-Service men)
(e) SC/ST/OBC Candidates should bring their original caste certificates (issued by revenue
officer not below the rank of Tehsildar) i.e by Tehsildar/ SDO/ SDM/ADM /DM/ Collector
/Dy. Collector). SC/ST candidates should produce Caste certificate as per proforma given
in Appendix-‘B’ and OBC candidates should produce caste certificate as per proforma
given in Appendix-‘C’.

(f) Hillman or tribesmen certificate which should be on the format as prescribed
in Apendix-‘D’ (if belonging to any of the category and desired to avail relaxation in
height and chest as prescribed for such category).
(g) Other certificates in support of additional qualification i.e. NCC/Scout & guides/ sports/
proficiency in computer if any.
(h) No objection certificate in case of persons serving in Govt. Departments/Semi
Government Departments /Undertakings etc.
(i) Domicile certificate of the State, candidate belongs.
(j) To avail facility of reserve seats for minority, candidates belonging to minority in OBC
category must produce certificate issued by competent authority regarding belonging to
minority community.
4) The candidates can apply for only one trade. The written/ trade test will be conducted for the
applied trade post. In the cases where candidate applied for more than one trade/post, he will be
considered for only one trade/ post.
5) The department will not be responsible for any compensation or claim due to accident / injury
/damage if any, sustained during the course of the recruitment tests.
6) Canvassing in any form or bringing influence will not be permitted and candidates found
canvassing will be disqualified for the post.
7) The Selection of candidates will be subject to fitness in the chest X – Ray test and pathological
tests.
8) Qualifying in all tests does not guarantee appointment, as the offer of appointment will be made
only according to availability of vacancies at the relevant time from the merit list in the order of
seniority of the candidates in each category/ trades.
9) The candidate so appointed in the Force and subsequently seeking resignation/discharge as per
rules, shall be required to refund to the Govt. a sum equal to three months pay and allowances or
cost of training imparted to him, whichever is higher.
10) Selected candidates on their appointment in CRPF will be governed by the CRPF Act 1949, CRPF
Rules 1955 and other Central Government Rules and regulations as applicable from time to time.
11) The selected candidates will have to undergo prescribed training for specific period at any place
of training.
12) The Department has full right to make changes in or to cancel the recruitment process without
assigning any reasons.
13) Since the vacancies released state-wise, the candidates allowed for selection on production of
Domicile Certificate as enumerated in para-10(3) (i) above. No candidate of other States will be
allowed for selection against the quota of above states.
14) The vacancies notified can be altered / changed / increased / decreased due to administrative
reasons.
15) Decision of the Recruitment Board shall be final in the conduct of the recruitment.
