Centre for Wind Energy Technology (C-WET) is a Premier Research and
Development Organization set up by the Ministry of New and Renewable
Energy, at Chennai to serve as a Technical Focal Point in the area of wind
energy related issues and is only one of its kind in the entire Country/Asia.
Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission is a major initiative of the
Government of India and State Governments to promote ecologically
sustainable growth while addressing India’s energy security challenge. In
keeping with the immediate aim to focus on setting up an enabling
environment for solar energy penetration in the country, GOI have assigned
C-WET the ambitious task of setting up facilities, collecting and analyzing solar
irradiation data from various stations spread throughout the country. These
activities are being performed and monitored by a Solar Radiation Resource
Assessment (SRRA) unit. SRRA unit also serves as a laboratory for calibration
of sensors deployed for collection of meteorological parameters.
For its Solar Radiation Resource Assessment (SRRA) Unit, C-WET
intends to appoint a Consultant. The maximum age limit as on 31.12.2013
should not be more than 61 years. Details regarding qualification, experience
and remuneration can be seen at Annexure ’A’. The engagement would be
initially for one year extendable on year to year basis for a maximum period of
five years or till attaining the age of 65 years or co-terminus with the SRRA
project whichever is earlier. The engagement can be terminated on either
side by giving a month’s notice without assigning any reason[s].
Those who are interested and fulfilling the eligibility criteria may register
their names for Walk-in Interview at C-WET, Chennai on 5th December 2013
between 1000 hrs. & 1030 hrs. along with their application in the enclosed
format, one set of copies of all testimonials in support of age, educational
qualification, experience and relief order. They should also bring all original
certificates for verification. Only those candidates who register their names upto
1030 hrs. will be permitted for interview at 1130 hrs. on the same day.
Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. The Executive Director
C-WET however reserves the right to annul the entire process of recruitment
without assigning any reason[s] thereof.

C-WET - Solar Radiation Resource Assessment (SRRA) Unit
1. Consultant: 1 [one]
JOB DESCRIPTION
Consultant would be responsible for the following works:
1) Preparation of project proposal, measurements and consultancy works.
2) Preparation of solar data policies.
3) Inspection / Micrositing of SRRA stations spread all over India.
4) Procurement of instruments/hardware/software for SRRA cell.
5) Solar data checking for its quality for analysis.
6) Co-ordination with system integrator for rectification of problems
observed in the SRRA stations.
7) Co-ordination with various SNA’s and other agencies for the
implementation of project.
8) On-line monitoring of the SRRA stations.
QUALIFICATION
First Class Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Technology in Mechanical /
Electrical OR a First Class Masters Degree in Physics / Atmospheric Science /
Meteorology from a recognised University / Institute.
WORK EXPERIENCE
10-15 years experience in supervisory capacity in reputed R&D /
Scientific Institution in the field of Renewable Energy out of which atleast 2-3
years experience in Solar related areas. Experience in Micrositing, knowledge
in setting up Calibration lab, Data Analysis and processing, drafting project
proposals for consultancy work in Solar, drafting of Memorandum of
Understanding, NDA for Solar projects will be an added advantage.
CONSOLIDATED REMUNERATION
Rs.50,000/-p.m [Rupees Fifty thousand only] with increase of 10% for
the extended period.
