Project “UZONMAP”: CIRCULAR

Centre for Geographic Information Technologies (CGIT) in Bharathidasan University is
contributing to society mainly by executing translational research projects sponsored by
union / state governments. Project “UZONMAP” (Use Zone Mapping through Geographic
Information Technologies) is one such project sponsored by Directorate of Town and
Country Planning, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. This project mainly aims at bringing complete land
feature boundary using high resolution Remote Sensing Imagery and GPS Field Validation
Study covering about 8,500 Sq. Km. area in seven pockets of Tamil Nadu covering parts of
Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Thoothukkudi, Tiruppur, Erode and Krishnagiri
districts. Geographic Information System (GIS) will be used at various levels such as spatial
data management through topological editing, data integration, map overlay, preparation of
land-use register, etc.
In this regard, applications are invited from suitable candidates to work in the above Project
“UZONMAP” (Use Zone Mapping through Geographic Information Technologies) with
different capacities. The details of designation, consolidated salary, qualification and
experience are given in TABLE 1. Application in prescribed format (downloadable from

• Application in prescribed format should reach the undersigned on or before
09.11.2013 (Saturday) and can be sent preferably by email (gitlab1@yahoo.co.in) as
MS word / Pdf format or through post. Page 2 of 3
• Candidate should clearly indicate the detail of ‘POST APPLIED FOR’ along with
his / her e-mail id.
• Candidates prefer to apply for more than one post will have to submit separate
application in the prescribed format.
• Candidates who have sent application may directly attend the interview on 11.11.2013
(Monday) by 9.30 AM as per the schedule given below:
• Application found to be not fulfilled both the Qualification and Experience (as
mentioned in Table 1) will be disqualified.
• Supportive documents as photocopy to substantiate academic qualifications,
experience, etc. have to be submitted only at the time of attending the interview.
Supportive documents should not be attached with the application form.
• All the original certificates pertaining to academic qualification, experience, etc. have
to be furnished for verification during the interview.
• Initially, the project duration is for only one year.
• If needed, candidate may have to appear for written test / practical test to be
conducted at the time of interview.
• Whole process of selection of candidate may get extended to one more day and hence,
candidate must prepare themselves to appear for interview / practical test / written test
in the next day also.
• Interview will be conducted in Centre for Geographic Information Technologies
(CGIT), Near Informatics Centre, Bharathidasan University, Palkalaiperur Campus,
Tiruchirappalli – 620 024.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
