The PhD Programs are offered in the following Departments: Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electronics and Communications Engineering Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Chemical Engineering Computer Science and Engineering Biotechnology Physics Chemistry Mathematics Humanities and Social Sciences School of Management Eligibility:For PhD programs in Engineering:First class with not less than 60% aggregate (or) not less than 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale in B.Tech. or BE or Equivalent degree in relevant discipline Or First Class with not less than 60% aggregate (or) not less than 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale in M.Tech. or ME in relevant discipline. - In the case of SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria for all Departments is Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate. For PhD programs in Science & Humanities: BA/ B.Sc. and MA/ M.Sc./ M.Phil. in relevant discipline or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate. For PhD programs in School of Management: First class BE./ B.Tech. in any branch of engineering with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate along with valid examination score in CAT/MAT/NET and First class MBA with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate Or - Any first class graduate with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate and First class MBA with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate along with valid UGC (JRF/NET) score.
