Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER),Puducherry, invites applications for admission in to its PhD, Fellowship Programmes through entrance examination for the academic year 2014-15. Programmes on offer Diabetology Pediatric Critical & Emergency Care Tropical Parasitology Cardiac & Neuro-Anaesthesiology Critical Care(Anaesthesiology) Scholarship Details Students selected for PhD in any of the disciplines mentioned below will be paid as per JIPMER regulations a monthly stipend of 15,000/ for first year, 16,000/ for second year, 18,000/ for third year, of their studies respectively. Stipend of 11,000/ 12,000/-will be paid for extended period of their studies for fourth-year and fifth-year respectively. A contract has to be executed with JIPMER at the time of admission. In case of discontinuance of the course for any reason the candidate has to pay a penalty as per the terms of the contract executed for mid-stream departure Diabetology: MD/DNB General Medicinefrom any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. Pediatric Critical & Emergency Care: MD/DNBPediatrics from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India Tropical Parasitology: MD/DNBMicrobiology from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. Cardiac & Neuro-Anaesthesiology: MD/DNB Anesthesiology from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. Critical Care (Anaesthesiology): MD/DNB Anaesthesiology/General Medicine from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. Method of Selection The Entrance Examination is online based test administration. It consists of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) in the concerned specialty of the level of MD standard. The duration of the test is one and half hours. Each answer with correct response will be given four marks, negative marks will be given. For every incorrect response marked as correct one mark will be deducted. Minimum of 50% marks in the Entrance Examination will be required for the candidate to be eligible for admission as per merit ranking. Questions that are answered and “Marked for Review” will be considered as answered. Duration of the Course: 3 years for non-Medical Post Graduates / MBBS Graduates. 2 years for Medical Post-Graduates with MD/MS/DNB or M.Phil.
