Applications on plain paper are invited from eligible candidates for following position in ICMR
sponsored research project “Genetics and Epigenetics of Lung Function among the victims of
Bhopal Gas Disaster.” purely on temporary basis for one year. The selected candidates will be
paid remunerations as per existing ICMR rules. The applications on plain paper along with
relevant documents and resume to be submitted to the undersigned within seven days from the
date of publication of this notice. No TA /DA shall be paid for attending the interview. If number
of applications received is more than five for any post, short listing of the candidates will be
done on the basis of the project requirement and Walk-in Interview of the shortlisted candidates

Job Profile [for Research assistant and Technician]
1. He/She has to conduct fieldwork in Bhopal every day and ensure smooth conductance of
fieldwork to achieve the research objectives of the project.
2. Have to convince the people for participation in the study, fill the questionnaires, and take the
biological measurements.
3. Appropriate labeling, collection, processing and storage of blood sample. Ready to help the team
for any aspect of fieldwork and troubleshooting of problems.
4. Doing regular laboratory work: DNA extraction, quantification, DNA plating, etc.
5. Responsible for calibration, maintenance, security of instruments and data entry from
questionnaires.
6. Help the NIREH coordinator in various activities related to the project.
7. Regularly update the progress in fieldwork to principal investigator.
General conditions:
1. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates will be as per the government rules.
2. Qualification/degree should be from a recognized Institution/University.
3. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee for selection.
4. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
5. No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.
6. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department / Organizations
are not eligible
7. Candidates must bring along with them all the relevant documents in original and one set of
attested photocopies of the same and one passport size recent colour photograph.
8. The conditions of employment will be the same as are for the project staff on contract basis. The
candidates have no right to claim for any regular employment at the institute.
