PUBLIC APPOINTMENTS
Applications are invited from the MBBS/BDS graduates, for filling
up of various posts of Junior Residents in the various departments, clearing
backlog of vacancies, for a maximum period of one year for the session starting
from 01.01.2014 and also preparing a waiting list for future vacancies occurring
during the remaining period of the year ending 31.12.2014 being tenure posts.

NOTE
i) Number of vacancies whether General or Reserve are tentative and
can increase or decrease.
ii) 02 (Two) posts of Junior Residents (MBBS) are reserved for
persons with Locomotor Disability (Non Surgical), if available.
iii) 01 (One) post of Junior Resident (BDS) are reserved for persons
with Locomotor Disability (Non Surgical), if available.
In order to short-list the candidates, a written Test will be held on
13.12.2013 at 11.00 AM in Auditorium Hall, College Building, Govt. Medical
College & Hospital, Sector 32-A, Chandigarh.
The applications format duly completed in all respects,
alongwith the attested photocopies of all the relevant certificates/testimonials
and application fee of Rs.200/- (Rs. 50/- in case of SC candidates, if applying
for a post of reserved category) in the shape of Demand Draft payable at
Chandigarh drawn in favour of Director Principal, Government Medical College
& Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh should be submitted in the office of the
undersigned i.e. Room No. 228 A(Dairy & Despatch Section), Level II, Block D
upto 29.11.2013 upto 5.00 PM. Applicants must mention the total marks
obtained in all professionals of MBBS/BDS alongwith percentage of marks and
maximum marks of all professionals in the application form. In case OBC
candidates are not available the candidates of General Category can be
considered till GMCH does not get a candidate from the OBC Category being
tenure post.
The application format alongwith other information regarding
details of posts, qualification, pay scales, age, reservation terms & conditions
etc. can be obtained from the Office of Director Principal, Hall No. 3, Level-II,
Block-D , Hospital Building, Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32,
Chandigarh personally on any working day from Monday to Friday between

NOTE

2. ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE ETC.
(i) MBBS/BDS
(ii) Registered with State Medical Council Register/Medical Council of
India.
(iii) The candidates who have already completed their one year rotatory
internship/likely to complete internship on 31.12.2013 are eligible to
apply.
3. TENURE OF POSTS
The above said posts are tenure posts and will be filled up for a maximum
period of one year i.e. upto 31.12.2014 subject to satisfactory performance of
their duties. The Junior Residency, if done, in any Central institution/hospital,
the same shall be counted while working out the tenure of one year, so as the
maximum period of Junior Residency should not exceed one year.
4. UPPER AGE LIMIT AS ON :- 01.01.2013
The upper age limit shall be 30 years for MBBS/BDS candidates for Junior
Residents.
5. RESERVATION AND RELAXATION:
a) Age is relaxable for 5 years for SC, 3 years for OBC, 5 years for physically
handicapped 10 years for widows/deserted women/women judicially separated
from their husbands, who are not re-married.
b) The reservation and relaxation in the upper age limit i.e. for the above
categories of posts reserved for such categories will be made, as per the
instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
c) The SC/OBC candidates applying for un-reserved posts are not entitled to any
relaxation in upper age limit/application fee.
d) The Candidates belonging to their own category will be considered against the
aforesaid posts.
e) The claim of the candidate to SC/OBC (not BC) categories will be considered
only when the same is accompanied by the certificate issued by the competent
authority in the prescribed format by the Government of India. Only those OBC
category candidates will be considered, whose caste is falling under OBC
category in both the Central List and the Union Territory, Chandigarh List.
f) In case OBC candidates are not available the candidates of General Category
can be considered till GMCH does not get a candidate from the OBC Category
being tenure post.
6. PAY SCALE:
Rs. 15600-39,100/- carrying grade pay of Rs.5400/- + Other Allowances as
admissible.
7. APPLICATION FEE:
The Application Fee of Rs.200/- (Rs.50/- in case of SC candidate, if applying
for reserved category), non refundable, through Demand Draft payable at
Chandigarh in favour of Director Principal, Government Medical College &
Hospital, Sector - 32, Chandigarh should be sent alongwith the Application.
8. OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS:
i) The number of posts are tentative and can be increased or decreased. The
department reserves the right to withdraw the post at any time, without
assigning any reason or without any notice whatsoever.
ii) The candidates who have already completed their tenure of Junior Residency
are not eligible to apply.
iii) The Junior Residents, who have earlier worked in this institute and their
services, were dispensed with on account of misconduct or otherwise by this
institute, are not eligible to apply against these posts.
iv) The applications duly completed in all respects in the prescribed format
alongwith the attested copies of educational qualifications, experience, date of
birth, character certificate, medical registration certificate with Medical Council
of India/State Medical Council, internship completion certificate, Mark Sheet of
MBBS First Prof. Second Prof, Final Prof. Part-I and II, Caste/Community
Certificate issued by the competent authority alongwith latest photograph and
application fees of Rs. 200/- (50/- for SC/ST candidates if applying for reserved
category) in the shape of Demand Draft, payable at Chandigarh drawn in
favour of Director Principal, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector -
32, Chandigarh should be submitted in the office of the undersigned i.e. Room
No. 228 A(Dairy & Despatch Section), Level II, Block D latest by 29.11.2013
Upto 5.00 PM.
v) In order to short-list the candidates, a Written Test will be held on 13.12.2013
at 11.00 AM. in the Auditorium Hall, College Building, Govt. Medical College &
Hospital, Sector 32-A, Chandigarh.
vi) The Roll Nos. of the eligible candidates for written test will be displayed on the
notice board on 12.12.2013.
vii) The original documents of the candidates will be checked on the date of
interview in Committee Room. Hence the candidates are requested to be
present well in time before two hours before interview.
viii) Incomplete applications/applications received without attested copies of above
mentioned certificates and those received after due date and time and
application fee will be summarily rejected.
ix) No TA/ DA will be paid for appearing in the written test and for attending the
interview.
x) Departments will be allotted as per the requirements of the hospital for Junior
Residents (MBBS).
