38TH ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR SUB-OFFICERS COURSE
Applications are invited from eligible candidates in the prescribed form furnished below for the 38th All India Entrance Examination for selection to 32nd External Sub officers Course to be conducted during the year 2013 at National Fire Service College, Nagpur or any of the Regional Training Centers identified by the college. The duration of the Sub – Officers course is 33 weeks out of which 21 weeks will be conducted at the college / RTC and 12 week practical attachment at major fire services in the country at the discretion of the college.
The entrance examination will be held on one day only on 21st April 2013, at Nagpur. The exact address of the examination venue will be intimated individually to eligible candidates by post. The Director, NFSC reserves the rights to change, add new centre or delete the existing centres. All the details such as eligibility, age, fees, examination etc are given below.
ELIGIBILITY:
1. AGE: Candidates applying for the ensuing All India Entrance Examination should be between 18 and 25 years as on 01 / 07 / 2013. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates & personnel serving on regular basis in the recognized fire services and 3 years for OBC Candidates. All reserved candidates will be required to produce relevant valid documents as proof of caste for obtaining age relaxation as required by Government of India.
2. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from recognized University or 3 years Diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by A.I.C.T.E. or Board
Of Technical Education Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend instructions, both in Hindi and English.
3. (A) PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
MALE:
The Physical and Medical Standard for the candidates
PHYSICAL STANDARD:
(A) FOR MALE MINIMUM
Height: 165 cms. (Relaxable by 5 cms in the case of Nepali, Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkha & Nagaland member of Schedule tribes).
Chest: 81 cms unexpanded and 86 cms unexpanded (Fully expanded with minimum of 5 cms expansion)
Weight: Min. 50 kgs.
(B) FOR FEMALE MINIMUM
Height: 157 cms. (Relaxable by 2.5 cms in the case of Garhwalls, Assamese Gorkha and
member of the Scheduled tribes).
Chest: There shall be no minimum requirement of chest.
Weight: Min. 46 kgs.
MEDICAL STANDARD:-
a) Visual: Better eye - 6/6 (Eligible vision - 6/6 only )
Worse eye- 6/12 without aid.
b) Color Vision: - No colour blindness.
c) The candidate must not have knock-nee, flat feet, squint eyes and stammering. They
must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect.
(B) MEDICAL EXAMINATION:
The applicant on his selection will produce a Certificate of Medical Fitness in the
prescribed proforma attached with application form duly signed by a Medical Officer not
below the rank of the Civil Surgeon/ District Medical Officer of a Government Hospital.
at the time of Sending application. The application of candidates without Medical
certificate will summarily rejected
4. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Applications in the prescribed
format along with the medical certificate only should reach this college latest by
05/04/2013. In service candidates should apply though proper channel. Applications
received after this date will be rejected.
Candidates serving in recognized Fire Services will have to undergo their training at their
own expense, provided they are suitable in all respects.
5. EXAMINATION FEES:
(a) Fees in form of Indian Postal Order ONLY will be accepted along with the
Application form.
(b) Fee for unreserved candidates & OBC candidates = `100/-
(c) Fee for SC /ST candidates = ` 25/-
(d) Application form without fees or fewer fees will be rejected. Fees in form of
Demand Draft will be rejected.
(e) Indian postal order should be in favour of “Director, NFSC Nagpur” and Payable
at “GPO, Nagpur”.
6. WRITTEN EXAMINATION: The examination will be conducted in 1 session on the
same day. Question paper will be printed bilingually (Hindi & English) except General
English and the same can be answered by the candidate in either Hindi or English. The
question paper will be objective type and will consists of questions from science and
Mathematics also.
7. EXAMINATION CENTRES: The exact address of the examination Center will be
intimated individually to eligible candidate. The Director, NFSC reserves rights to
change, add new centre or delete the existing centres examination. Call letters will be
sent to ONLY eligible candidates by post. Center of examination may be changed at the
discretion of the college.
8. SEATS: There are a total of 30 seats.The reservations for SC, ST and OBC will be as
per government of India norms. The course shall begin on 1st July 2013.
9. PAYMENT OF TA/DA: Candidates are not eligible for any TA/DA from the college.
10. GRANT OF ADMISSION: Admission will be granted to the candidates based on the overall order of merit on the basis of written examination and applying the rules of reservation.. Results will be communicated individually to the selected candidates only by post.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Application form can be downloaded in A4 size paper ONLY. All the columns of the prescribed form must be completely filled. Candidates must sign only within the boxes provided.
2. Candidates should paste (do not staple / pin) his / her photograph on the application form (preferably black & white) and duly attested by the Principal/Gazetted Officer/ HOD/ Special Executive Magistrate
3. Applications with signature in capital letters will be rejected.
4. Applications received after the last date i.e. 05/04/2013.will not be considered. No intimation to this effect will be communicated by this college. This college will not be responsible for any postal delay. The date on which the application is physically delivered at NFSC,Nagpur will be considered the date of receipt of Application Form at NFSC, Nagpur
5.. Candidates must ensure that their photograph and signatures on the prescribed application form are duly attested by the Principal/Gazetted Officer/ HOD/ Special Executive Magistrate, or else it will be rejected
6.. Incomplete application form will be summarily rejected. No intimation to this effect shall be communicated by this college.
7. Application should be addressed to the Director, National Fire Service College, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, Palm Road, Civil Lines, Nagpur-44 00 01 (Maharashtra).
8. The envelope must contain the complete application form along with necessary enclosures and requisite Indian Postal Order applicable and must be superscribed as “APPLICATION FOR 38TH ALL INDIA SUB–OFFICERS COURSE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2013-14”
9. ONLY those candidates found eligible for the written examination will be sent Admission Card by post.
10. The course is residential. Lodging and boarding is compulsory for male, whereas the female students shall have to make their own arrangements for lodging and boarding
11. The candidates will have to produce their documents in support of their academic qualification and claim for reservation for belonging to particular category along with a valid validity certificate and valid Non Creamy Layer Certificate at the time of admission, failing which their candidature will be treated as rejected.
