Eligibility:

PhD program in Engineering:
- Candidate must have a master's degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent (60% marks).
- Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology with an excellent academic record and with a CGPA of at least 9.0 out of 10 or equivalent (85% of marks).
For PhD program in Science:
- Candidates for admission in PhD program in Physics and Mathematics departments must have a master's degree in the relevant discipline with a CCPA of at least 6.0 out of 10 or equivalent (55% of marks).
- Candidates for admission in PhD programme in chemistry department must have a Master's degree in the relevant discipline or post graduate degree in Bio Engineering/ Bio-Chemistry with a CGPA of at least 6.0 out of 10 or equivalent (55% of marks).
For PhD program in Humanities & Social Science:
Candidates must have a master's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent.
For PhD program in MBA: Candidates must have an MBA degree with a CGPA olat least 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent (60% of marks).

Application fee of Rs. 500/- (for OP and OB candidates) and Rs. 300/- (for SC and ST candidates) should be paid through online payment portal of NIT Agartala.

Selection process:

On submission of online application the candidates fulfilling eligibility conditions will be short-listed.
The short-listed candidates will be required to report for interview (written/ oral) to the concerned department.
Selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidates in the test / interview and availability of seats.

Important dates:

Last date: 07th December, 2016.
Announcement of short list: 16th December, 2016.
Date of interview/ written test: 04th January, 2016.
Date of publication of the names of selected candidates: 10th January, 2017.
