UPSC: Engineering Services Examination 2017

No. of Vacancies: Approximately 440 including 17 PH (LDCP-12 & HI - 05).

Qualification:
i) Degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or
ii) Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or
iii) Degree/ Diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or
iv) assed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); orv) Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; orvi) Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.

Age Limit: 21 - 30 years

Fee: Rs.200/-. Female/ SC/ ST/ PH category candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

Plan of Examination: The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan:-

  • Stage-I: Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) Examination (Objective Type Papers) for the selection of candidates for the Stage-II: Engineering Services (Mains/Stage-II) Examination;

Preliminary/ Stage-I Examination: - The Examination shall comprise of two papers.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (in Objective Type Papers): Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
