Short Term Course on Subsurface Investigation for Pavements and Buildings @ NIT Trichy

The main objective of this short course is to highlight the importance of Subsurface investigation to Structural and Geotechnical engineering practices. In particular, the following topics will be covered as a part of the course, so as to mark significance of site investigation. Course Contents: Site investigation methods and Codal Provisions. Intricacies in subsurface investigations. Evaluation of subsurface soil properties for the construction of Roads, Railway embankments, Airfield pavement, Industrial buildings, Tall structures and On-shore structures. Laboratory training on evaluation of static and dynamic properties of soil. Practical training on Insitu testing methods. Target Audience: Practitioners, Consultants, Personnel from implementation Agencies and Industries associated with Building and Pavement construction, Academicians and researchers working in the areas of site investigation and evaluation of various Soil properties.
