 Award details:
- Tenure: 3 – 12 months
- Number of awards: 20
- Award valued up to CA$20,000 a year which is provided for field research expenses.
- It also covers one return trip from Canada to the developing country(ies) of research as well as housing, food, insurance, travel within the country(ies).
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
- Be Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens of developing countries pursuing doctoral studies at a Canadian university.
- Have acceptance of research proposal by thesis supervisor.
- proposed field research must take place in one or more developing countries, be conducted for a doctoral dissertation, and correspond to IDRC thematic priorities.
- have completed coursework and passed comprehensive exams.
