PhD Fellowships @IOP Bhubaneswar

Scholarships Details: The Institute provides hostel accommodation (on campus) for the all the Doctoral scholars. During the First two years of the PhD program (i.e. during course-work and 1st year of research work), students are paid a fellowship of Rs. 16,000/- p.m. On satisfactory completion of the two years of the PhD program, students are placed in Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) grade and are paid Rs. 18,000/- p.m. fellowship. In addition, there is a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per year to meet expenses on books and for domestic travel to attend conferences and workshops. Eligibility Criteria M.Sc. in Physics with a minimum of 55% marks (in aggregate). A valid GATE score and rank up to 200 or CSIR-UGC- NET (only JRF Qualified) qualifiers within the last one-year or Candidates who are offered DST-Inspire fellowship for carrying out PhD program. Candidates who have qualified JEST-2014 with a minimum score of 40 marks (cutoff rank of 240) need not send any application. They will be contacted directly by the Institute. If a candidate has scored less than 40 marks (cutoff rank of 240) in JEST-2014 but satisfies any of the criteria mentioned above, he/she is encouraged to send the application. Candidates appearing for the final semester/year of M.Sc., and who already satisfy criteria (B) as mentioned above can also apply. In case of non-availability of the M.Sc. results at the time of joining of PhD the admission will be treated as provisional.
