Departments offering PhD: Computer Science & Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Mechanical Engineering Eligibility: Candidates with a ME/ M.Tech. in relevant discipline with a minimum of 65% marks OR a CPI/ CGPA of 6.5 (on the scale of 10.00). Students who are currently in their final year in any of the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) can apply for direct admission to PhD after B.Tech. To be eligible for the admission under this category, a candidate is required to have a minimum CPI of at Least 7.5 (on a scale of 10) at the end of the seventh semester under OPEN and OBC categories. For SC/ST category students the minimum CPI requirement will be relaxed to 7.0. They must have qualified NET/ GATE score. How to Apply: Candidates may apply online. Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT @ IIIT Delhi

Departments offering PhD: CSE ECE Eligibility: B.Tech./ BE/ M.Tech./ MS/ ME in CS/ IT/ ECE/ EE CGPA at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent). If your institute does not provide CGPA in the transcript, then at least 70% marks is required to be eligible. MCA/ M.Sc. (CS/ IT/ ECE/ EE and allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to the B.Tech./ BE degree. Such students are also eligible to apply with the condition that they have B.Sc. in Computer Science or B.Sc. in any other subject with Mathematics as one of the courses. The marks requirement is same as that given above for B.Tech./ BE degrees. Candidates with M.Tech./ MS/ ME degree should also have same marks requirement at UG level. M.Sc. in Mathematics is also eligible for PhD in CS/ ECE who meets the following requirements: At least 70% marks in both B.Sc and M.Sc. Strong inclination towards CS/ ECE. GATE/ GRE scores are optional. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear in a written test and an interview (if shortlisted after the programming test) at IIIT-Delhi. Programming Test: There will be a separate programming test for CSE applicants. Shortlisted candidates (after the written/programming tests) will be interviewed on the same day. A final shortlist, based on the performance in the tests and the interview will be the final list of admitted candidates. All admission decisions (i.e. screening, shortlisting, and selection) made by the IIIT-D PhD Admission Committee will be final.
