M.Tech. Programme @ Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology, Thanjavur

Eligibility:
M.Tech. (Food Process Engineering):
  • Should have passed a four year B. E. / B. Tech degree in any of the following discipline like Food Process Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Agricultural Process Engineering, Post Harvest Technology, Food Technology and Food Science and Technology with proven knowledge in mathematics (compulsory).
  • A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply.
  • However for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient for all programs.

M.Tech. (Food Science and Technology):
  • Should have passed a 4 year Bachelor’s degree in any of the following discipline like Food Technology, Home Science, Food Science and Nutrition, Food Science and Quality Control, Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Post Harvest Technology, Food Technology and Management.
  • A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply.
  • However for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient for all programs.

  • Application Fee is Rs.250/- for OC/ OBC and Rs.125/- for SC/ ST Candidates.
  • DD should be drawn in favour of Director, IICPT payable at Thanjavur.
  • Hard copies of the printed application form along with the necessary documents with original DD should be sent to the following address. The envelope should be mentioned with superscript as ' M.Tech. (FPE)/ M.Tech. (FST) 2015-16'

Eligibility:
Full -Time:
  1. Rank in the Entrance Test.
  2. Candidates must have passed Master’s Degree of this University or any other recognized University in the concerned or related subject. They must secure not less than 55% of marks. However, in case of SC and ST candidates, a relaxation of 5% of marks is permitted. Attendance is compulsory for Full-Time Research Scholar as per the UGC rules.

Part -Time:
  1. Rank in the Entrance Test
  2. Candidates must have passed Master’s Degree of this University or any other recognized University in the concerned or related subject. They must secure not less than 55% of marks. However, in case of SC and ST candidates, a relaxation of 5% of marks is permitted.
  3. a) A Teacher with at least 5 or 3 or 2 years of Full-Time Teaching Experience in a Recognized Polytechnic / Junior College or Degree College / Oriental College or Professional / PG College respectively.

    b) An Employee possessing at least 5 years of Research Experience in a cadre not lower than that of Research Assistant working in a Research Institution run by the State Government or Central Government or in a Recognized Institution funded by Organizations like UGC/ CSIR/ CSSR/ DST/ DAE and such other agencies.

    c) A Gazetted Officer with PG Qualification and having 5 years of Professional Experience.

    d) An Executive having PG Qualification and 10 years Experience in Public Limited Company or quasi Government Organization.
    Note: Service Certificate issued by the Principal of the College or the Head of the Institution is valid for computing the length of service for the admission into part-time research course of the University.

Extra-Mural:

  2. An Employee who is working in an Organization that has entered into an M.O.U. with Acharya Nagarjuna University and possessing at least 2 years of Research Experience in a cadre not lower than that of Research Assistant working in a Research Institution run by the State Government or Central Government or in a Recognized Institution funded by Organizations like UGC/ CSIR/ CSSR/ DST/ DAE and such other agencies. Except National and State Government Agencies, the other R & D Agencies should obtain prior Recognition by the University.
  3. A Gazetted Officer with PG Qualification and having 5 years Experience.
  4. Executive having PG Qualification and 5 years Experience in Public Limited Company or Quasi Government Organisation or Cooperative Organisation having a turnover of 5 Crores.

Selection process:
  • Admissions will be made on the basis of the rank obtained by the candidate in the entrance test subject to the fulfillment of course eligibility criteria.
  • Preference will be given to the Full-Time Scholars, however Part-Time scholars will be considered after filling of utmost 50% of the seats with the Full-Time scholars. Incase sufficient number of Full-Time applicants to fill up 50% vacancies are not available, then such seats will be filled with the part-Time scholars.
  • Local Candidates: 85% of the available seats in each category in each course of study are reserved in favour of the local candidates belonging to the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam.
