It is proposed to fill-up following position as per details below purely on temporary basis under
the time bound Project running in this Institute.

Duration and other conditions Upto 31 March 2014 or till the expiry of the scheme whichever is
earlier as co-terminus with the project. (purely temporary)

The candidates fulfilling the qualification for the above position are invited to appear for a
walk-in-interview to be held at the office of Shri Tirth Das, PI, ENVIS Scheme, Dr. Raheja Library,
Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Light Industrial Area, Jodhpur – 342 003 (Raj.) (Contact No. 0291
2786931). The candidate should bring the following documents alongwith bio-data on plain paper duly
signed and pasted with a recent colour passport size photograph on it.
(i)Original certificate of educational qualifications and attested copies (ii) Two testimonials of
Character from two responsible gazetted officers (iii) relevant publication (iv) a brief of research work
carried during post graduations (v) No objection certificate from the employer in case of employment
elsewhere (vi) Experience certificate in original, if any.
The above position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The service of the
selected candidate will stand terminated automatically after the expiry of the project or completion of
period mentioned in the offer of appointment and on the decision of the competent authority,
whichever is earlier. He/she will not have any right to claim for regularization or absorption whatsoever
in regular vacancies of the Institute/ICAR. TA/DA will not be admissible for attending the interview.

STEP-I : Make PAYMENT
In order to fill in the online application, payment of application fee has to be made apriori. The payments are made through Demand Draft only.
Demand drafts of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST category) should be made in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur,West Bengal.
STEP-II : Fill in the ONLINE application form
Register with Your Email Id and Login. FILL in the appropriate data. You will have to FILL in the payment details also(Except women candidates). Therefore, it is essential that before you fill in the online application form make sure that you have the Demand Draft as mentioned above. You must enter the Demand Draft number and the Bank name for the payment details. You have to upload your digital photograph and signature. Please make sure that you have your passport size digital photograph and digital image of your signature ready before submitting online.
STEP-III : PRINT the online application form
After freezing the online application, you will be able to generate a PDF document of the online application with your specific details/data. For this your computer must have Adobe Acrobat Reader. From the onscreen view of the PDF document that your browser projects, you must PRINT the generated PDF online application form.
STEP-IV : POST
Cut the address lebel from the print out and paste on an envelope. Place the Demand Draft, printed online application form with supporting documents in the envelope and send it to

National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) is a premier National Institution of excellence in
rural development engaged in building capacities of rural development officials, elected
representatives, individuals and institutions through national and international training, research,
teaching and consultancy. NIRD’s contributions are appreciated worldwide.
About the Programmes: NIRD is commencing its Fifth One Year PG Diploma in Sustainable Rural
Development Programme and Second One year PG Diploma Programme in Tribal
DevelopmentManagement in Distance Mode from 1st January 2014. The Admission of candidates
in the above two Programmes will be done twice in a year (January and July). For the Academic
Year which starts from January, 2014 the admission process will be completed by December,
2013. The candidates who are admitted in the month of January will have to complete the
programme by December. For those admitted in July, the second Academic Year will from
July,2014 to June,2015. The candidates who are admitted in the month of July will have to
complete the Programmeby June, 2015. The Programmes will be offered through two semesters
with 16 credits each. The PG Diplomas will be awarded by the NIRD.
Special Features : Printed self-instructional material and proximate Contact Centers spread
across the country.Participation in Contact Session is not compulsory and it will carry no marks.
However, those Students participating in them will be benefitted.
Examinations :Each Course (100 Marks) offered in any Semester will have 30 Marks for the
continuous Evaluation through Assignments and 70 Marks for Semester End Examinations. The
Students will also have to undertake a Project relating to Rural Development in the Second
Semester whichwill also carry 100 Marks .Eligibility: A Graduate degree in any discipline from a UGC recognized University. For foreign
applicants, degree of their University should be recognized by their Government and their
competence in English should be ensured.
Duration: One year, Medium of Instruction : English
Programme Fee:Rs. 20,000/- (Rs. 18,000/- for SC/ST/PH), to be deposited in two equal
installments at the commencement of each Semester. For sponsored candidates, full Fee will
have to be deposited at the time of admission. Fee for NRIs and foreign nationals is $ 1700 to be
paid at the time of admission.

Website www.nird.org.in. The filled-in Applications accompanied by a Demand Draft for Rs.
500/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ST/PH candidates) drawn in favour of “NIRD-DEC-PGD-SRD” payable at
Hyderabad, towards Application Fee (No Application Fee for NRIs and Foreign Nationals)along
with attested copies of the required Certificates as mentioned in the Application Forms should
