VACANCIES FOR THE POST OF HEAD CONSTABLE (MINISTERIAL) IN CRPF

2. PAY SCALE:-
The post carries pay in pay band of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2400/-
(Minimum pay in pay band is Rs.7,510/- P.M.) The post will carry dearness allowance, ration
money, free accommodation, free uniform, free medical facilities, free leave pass once in a year
during leave and other allowances as admissible under the rules in the Force.
3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

5. MEDICAL STANDARD
(i) Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, squint in eyes or varicose
vein and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good
mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to
interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. They should
conform to the medical standards prescribed by the Force and should be
declared fit by the Medical officer of the CRPF.
(ii) Medical test (X-Ray and laboratory) shall be conducted only in r/o those
candidates who are found otherwise medically fit. No appeal will lie if the
candidate is declared unfit in X-Ray or in any other tests/examinations
during Review medical examination.
(iii) VISUAL STANDARD
(a) The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other eye
without correction i.e. without wearing glasses or lenses.
(b) Colour blindness will be a disqualification for the above post and if at any
stage of their service career, if they are found to be colour blind, they will
be boarded out as per SHAPE policy in vogue.

6. AGE
Between 18 and 25 years as on 12/3/2014.
Relaxation
a) Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years for
OBC candidates.
b) Upper age limit is also relaxable upto 05 years for those persons who had
originally been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st
January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or
OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this clause will be in addition to the
age relaxation as applicable in (a) above. The persons claiming relaxation
under this category should produce a certificate to the effect that they had
been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st January, 1980
to 31st December, 1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction
they had originally resided or from any authority designated in this behalf by
the Govt. of J & K.
c) The children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the –
(i) riots of 1984 & (ii) riots of 2002 in Gujarat - would be eligible for relaxation
in upper age by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category,
the relaxation so provided in this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation
as applicable in (a) above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the
concerned District Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should
be attached with the application.
d) Central Government servants who have rendered not less than three years
regular/ continuous service as on closing date are eligible upto the age of 40
years for General candidates, 43 years for OBC candidates and upto 45 years
in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST.
7. STANDARD/CONDITIONS FOR EX-SERVICEMEN:-
a) Physical
Standard
Relaxable. Ex-servicemen with less than two years break
after retirement will be given total relaxation in physical
standards.
b) Educational
Qualification
Matriculate.
c) Character
Certificate
Minimum requirement will be good character certificate.
d) Medical
Category
Category : AYE -One
e) Age Relaxation to the extent of Military service rendered plus 3
years.
f) Break in
Service
Not more than 24 months. Ex-servicemen with more than
two years break after retirement seeking recruitment will be
recruited only after physical and medical examinations as well
as verification of character and antecedents like other
candidates from open market. It will not be possible to
extend the concession provided to those Ex-servicemen with

less than two years break after retirement, to others having
more than two years break in service.
g) Rank Equivalent.
Note :- In case of an ex-servicemen, who have been retired or
relieved or discharged from service whether at his own
request or being relieved by the employer after earning his or
her pension are eligible for re-employment.
8. SCHEME OF EXAMINATION/SELECTION PROCEDURE:-
The recruitment shall be held in two phases as under:-
A. FIRST PHASE:-
Scrutiny/checking of certificates/documents
Physical Measurement
Written examination.
B. SECOND PHASE:-
Skill test ( i.e. Typing speed test)
Interview
Medical examination
Note : The schedule of first phase and written examination shall be uploaded in
CRPF website. Candidates are advised to visit CRPF website
(www.crpf.gov.in) to know the schedule.
9. CHECKING OF DOCUMENTS:-
1. The candidates whose applications are accepted will be issued call letters by the
application receiving centres intimating place and date on which they are required to
appear for the recruitment process. The candidates should bring call letters along with
them.
2. The candidates must carry atleast one photo bearing identification proof
such as Driving License, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity card issued by
University/College, Income tax pan card, in original to the examination
centre for proving their identity, failing which THEY SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED
TO APPEAR FOR THE EXAMINATION/RECRUITMENT.
3. After verifying the identity of the candidates with the photo identification proof,
certificates/documents of eligible candidates will be screened. Candidates should
produce the following original certificates/ testimonials/documents:-
(a) Education certificate of 10th Class/Matriculation from the board or university
recognized by Central or State Government, for proof of age.
(b) Education certificate regarding passing of Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent
issued by board or university recognized by Central or State Government.
(c) Caste certificate, issued by the Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar,
if the candidate belongs to SC/ST/OBC. The caste certificates should be in
proforma given in Annexure-B & C.
(d) Discharge certificate by Ex-servicemen candidates.
(e) No Objection Certificate by candidates who are already in Government service.
(f) Certificate as per proforma given in Annexure-D, for availing relaxation in height.
(g) Certificate from District Magistrate for claiming relaxation in age under Para- 6 (b
& c above), if any.

Note: - If any Candidate fails to produce requisite original
certificates/testimonials including caste certificates in prescribed
format issued by competent authority, his/her candidature shall be
rejected straight-away during document scrutiny stage itself and no
candidate will be allowed to appear provisionally.
10. PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT:-
(i) The candidates who are found eligible on screening of certificates/testimonials
and fulfilling the age, educational and other criteria will be subjected to physical
measurement i.e. height, weight and chest*(*only for male candidates). The
candidates who meet the requirement of physical standard will be
eligible/allowed to appear in written examination. The candidates eligible for
written examination will be informed in writing on the day of physical
measurement itself about place and date on which they are required to appear
for the written examination. Date of written examination will also be posted in
CRPF website (www.crpf.gov.in).
(ii) If any candidate is not satisfied with measurement of his/her physical
standard, he/she can prefer appeal on the same day to the PO recruitment
board against rejection in physical measurement. Such candidates will be given
a fresh date by the Presiding Officer of the recruitment board for appearing for
re-measurement by the appellate authority. The decision of the appellate
authority in this regard will be final. If the candidate is found to be within the
prescribed standard, he/she will be forwarded to next selection process in
continuation.
11. WRITTEN EXAMINATION
The written examination will be of 200 marks consisting of following four parts:-
Part -I: Hindi/English Language
Part -II : General Intelligence.
Part -III: Numerical Aptitude.
Part -IV: Clerical Aptitude.
There will be only one question paper for two hours duration consisting of above four
parts. The question in all the four parts will be "OBJECTIVE TYPE WITH MULTIPLE
CHOICE”. Each part will be consisting of 50 questions carrying one mark each for right answer.
Thus, in total there will be 200 questions. A candidate obtaining qualifying percentage out of
total 200 marks shall be considered as qualified. The qualifying marks in written test (i.e.
aggregate marks obtained in all four parts together) is 40% for General Category
and 35% for SC/ST/OBC candidates i.e 80 Marks for General Candidates and 70
Marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates, out of 200.
Instructions for written examination:-
i. The written examination Question papers will be set bilingually in Hindi and English and
candidates will have the option to answer either in Hindi or English. Language option
code i.e. Hindi or English, opted by the candidate, should be mentioned correctly at
appropriate place in OMR answer sheet otherwise OMR answer sheet will not be
evaluated. Candidates are advised to answer in Hindi/English but they cannot answer
part in Hindi & part in English or vice-versa.
ii. Answers to the questions will have to be given in an OMR Sheet provided.
iii. Candidates should write their Roll Number both on the Question Booklet and the OMR
Answer Sheet.
iv. All questions are compulsory and carry equal marks.

v. Each Question Booklet has a Series No. and Series code. The candidates should enter
the Series Number & Series code of Question Booklet given to them correctly in OMR
Answer Sheet.
vi. The OMR answer sheets not bearing candidates Name, Roll number, Language
option code, Category, Question booklet series Number, Series Code,
Signature, etc at appropriate columns/boxes earmarked for this purpose, fully and
correctly, will not be evaluated and “Zero” marks will be awarded to them. No
correspondence in this regard will be entertained by the department.
vii. Each question is followed by four answer choices. Out of these, candidate has to select
the correct answer for each question and mark correct answer by darkening only one
of the choice.
viii. If more than one oval are darkened, the answer will not be evaluated at all.
ix. Candidate should think and decide clearly before making heavy marks to fill the oval
completely.
x. The OMR Answer Sheet and question Booklets shall be handed over to the invigilator
before leaving the examination hall, failing which, the applicant will be liable for
disqualification.
xi. Sufficient space will be provided for rough work. The candidates should use that space
only and not use any other place/ paper etc.
xii. The candidates will be allowed to take carbon copy of the answer sheet. Answer keys to
the question paper will be displayed on the notice board of recruitment centre and also
uploaded on the CRPF website (www.crpf.gov.in) after reasonable gap of written
examination.
xiii. The candidate should not write any irrelevant matter on answer sheet except the
specific information called for. If he/she does so, his/her Answer Sheet will become
invalid and will not be evaluated.
xiv. Calculator/cell phone/any other computing/ electronic devices are not permitted inside
the examination centre.
xv. If any candidates is found to be in possession of mobile phones or any other means of
electronic/ wireless communication devices in the examination hall, his/her candidature
shall be cancelled.
xvi. Candidate found copying or helping others will be straight-away disqualified.
xvii. Evaluation of answer sheet is computerized and no requests for revaluation will be
entertained at any cost.
xviii. 15 Minutes time will be given to candidates for filling up column of OMR answer sheet
and Question Booklet appropriately.
12. SKILL TEST
i. The candidates, who qualify/pass written examination, will be called to appear for the
Second phase of test. The candidate should bring call letter alongwith photo-bearing
identity proof as mentioned in Para- 9(2) alongwith them to prove their identity.
ii. They will be tested for typing speed on computers as mentioned in Para-3 (Skill Test)
above. Skill test will be of qualifying nature and no marks will be awarded for
skill test.
iii. The typing will have to be done on computers and keyboards provided by the
Department and in no case use of typewriters shall be allowed.
iv. No request for re-test of skill test will be accepted/entertained.
v. SKILL TEST IN HINDI SHALL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON “ REMINGTON GAIL
KEY LAYOUT WITH MANGAL FONT”.
vi. For benefits of candidates “Remington Gail Layout with Mangal font” will be uploaded on
CRPF website www.crpf.gov.in, so that candidates familiarize themselves.

vii. Each error (including spelling mistake, omission of word/punctuation mark, repeated
word, word differing from the test/actual passage, word not in the passage, mixing-up
of words, etc) will be counted as a mistake. Mistakes equaling to 5% of the words in
the passage actually typed by the candidate will be allowed/permissible. For each
mistake beyond 5% of the permissible limit, 10 words will be subtracted/deducted
from the total words typed by the candidate for assessing actual typing speed.
viii. The Department reserves the right to decide about procedure/mode of
conducting skill test and determining errors.
13. INTERVIEW
The candidates who qualify in skill test (i.e. typing speed test) will be allowed for
interview. The total marks for interview will be 25. There shall be no qualifying marks in
interview and no separate marks for computer knowledge and typing speed. At the time of
interview, candidates will have to again produce original certificates/testimonials in
support of their education qualifications and date of birth, caste, etc. In addition, they
will also produce original certificates/testimonials in support of higher education,
accomplishment/ participation in sports, participation in NCC, and other
experience/qualification.
14. MEDICAL EXAMINATION;-
i. After interview, the candidates will be subjected to detailed medical examination to
assess their physical and medical fitness. Medical tests (X-Ray and laboratory) shall be
conducted only for such candidates who are found fit.
ii. The candidates who have been declared medically fit will only be considered for
appointment subject to the condition that they secure place in merit list in their
respective categories.
iii. If a candidate is declared unfit for appointment in CRPF during Medical Examination,
grounds for rejection will be communicated to him/her in writing. The candidates, if not
satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for review
medical examination with a proof of his/her fitness, from a Medical Practitioner, to the
designated appellate authority of the recruitment centre where his/her test has been
conducted.
iv. The appeal will not be taken into consideration unless :-
(a) Medical certificate regarding fitness of candidate, from a Medical Practitioner, is
submitted. Further, the medical certificate submitted should contain a note by the
Medical Practitioner concerned to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge
of the fact that the candidate has already been rejected as unfit for appointment in
CRPF by a Medical Officer.
(b) Review Medical Examination fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees twenty five only) through
IPO/Banker's Cheque/Demand Draft in the name of the Appellate Authority, is
submitted alongwith the appeal.
(c) The appeal is received within 30 days from the date of issue of the
communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer are communicated to the
candidate.
v. The candidates whose appeals are accepted will be issued with call letter for appearing
before review medical board of CRPF for Review Medical Examination. The findings of
the review medical board will be final. Further, during review medical examination also,
the X-Ray and Pathological tests will be done only if the candidate is declared medically
fit. No appeal will lie if the candidate is declared medically unfit in X-Ray or in any other

test/examination conducted during Review medical Examination.
15. DRAWAL OF FINAL MERIT LIST
a) After completion of Medical examination, category wise merit lists namely General, SC,
ST, OBC and Ex-servicemen will be drawn separately.
b) The merit list will be drawn on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in written test
and interview by the candidates. In case tie in marks, the merit list will be prepared in
the following manner:-
i) The candidate older in age gets preference.
ii) If the tie still persists, it is finally resolved by referring to the alphabetical
order of names in English i.e. a candidate whose name begins with alphabet
which comes first in the alphabetical order gets preference.
c) The list of finally selected candidates will be displayed on the notice board of
recruitment centres and also posted on CRPF website as well as published in all leading
newspapers followed by issue of offer of appointment.
d) No waiting list shall be maintained/kept.
16. HOW TO APPLY
(i) Eligible and desirous candidates should send their applications in the proforma given
as Annexure – "A'. Applications form duly completed in all respects and after affixing
latest photographs (which should be self attested) be sent to any of the following
application receiving centres alongwith attested photocopies of documents
mentioned in Para-16(iii) below. A candidate shall have the choice to appear for the
recruitment at only one centre i.e. the centre to which he/she has sent his/her
application and the centre will not be changed under any circumstances. The envelope
containing the application must be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION
FOR SPECIAL RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF HEAD
CONSTABLE(MINISTERIAL) IN CRPF".

17. APPLICATION FEE :-
(i) Application should be accompanied by a Crossed Indian Postal Order or Demand
Draft for Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) to be drawn in favour of the
DIGP, GC, CRPF of concerned application receiving centre mentioned in Para-16
above. The IPO/Demand Draft should be purchased/drawn after the date of
publication of advertisement and should be payable/encashed at post office/Bank
within time frame where the application receiving centre is situated.
(ii) However, SC/ST candidates, all female candidates and Ex-servicemen are
exempted from payment of application fee. Applications of Male candidates
belonging to General and OBC categories without application fee will be rejected
straight-away and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
(iii) Fees once paid shall NOT be refunded under any circumstances.

(iv) To avoid rejection of applications, it is in the interest of the candidates that they
should ensure that the IPO/Demand Draft being sent by them are in order and have
signatures and seals, etc, wherever required.
18. In case any candidate is found ineligible or suppressing facts on any ground at any
time, before, during or after his/her selection/appointment, his/her candidature/service will be
terminated without assigning any reason.
19. GENERAL INFORMATION
a) The department has the right to make any changes in the advertisement or cancel it
without assigning any reasons.
b) On appointment, candidates shall be governed by the CRPF Act and Rules as well as
such Govt. instructions/rules issued from time to time, as applicable.
c) The candidates will have to make their own arrangements for stay during the
recruitment process.
d) Success in the examination confers no right to appointment, unless the department is
satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is
suitable in all respects for appointment to the post.
e) The application form will not be supplied by department. Application in the format as
prescribed in Annexure-A must be filled by the candidate in his/her own hand writing
either in Hindi or English. Correction, if any, should be made legibly and attested by the
candidate. Before filling up the application form, the candidate should read the eligibility
conditions for the recruitment carefully to see if he /she is eligible for the post and
candidates should apply only if he/she fulfils all the conditions to avoid disappointment
at a later stage. Applications, which are not in prescribed format/incomplete and without
requisite documents will be summarily rejected.
f) Date of birth as recorded in the matriculation/secondary examination certificate or an
equivalent certificate, from board/university recognized by Central/State Govt, produced
during the course of recruitment will only be accepted for determining the age eligibility
and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
g) The admission of candidates at all the stages of the recruitment will be purely
provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility criteria. Undergoing
medical examination at the end of the recruitment process does not guarantee
appointment as the offer of appointment will be made only according to the allotted
vacancies, for each category, from the merit lists in the order of seniority of the
candidates.
h) In case candidates are appointed in CRPF and thereafter seek resignation or discharge,
they shall be required to remit to the Government amount equal to three months pay
and allowances or the cost of training imparted to them, whichever is higher, as per
rules.
i) At the time of joining Force, an undertaking shall be taken from all the candidates
selected for appointment, that if at any stage of their service career they are found to
be colour-blind, they will be boarded out as per SHAPE policy in vogue.
j) Post carries all India service liability and candidates are liable to serve anywhere in
India/abroad.
k) New Contributory Pension Scheme to Central Government employees which has come
into effect from 01/01/2004 will be applicable to all selected candidates.
l) The selected candidate will be sent for training at any of the training institutions of
CRPF. The services of those who fail to complete the training successfully are liable to
be terminated.

m) Govt. strives to have a work force which reflects gender balance and women
candidates are encouraged to apply.
n) Beware of touts. No money is charged for recruitment in CRPF. If you have paid or
promised to pay money to any one, you are cheated and you are losing money. If
anyone demands money or promises recruitment, you should immediately inform to the
Presiding Officer (PO) of the recruitment board.
o) Canvassing in any form or bringing outside influence will automatically disqualify the
candidate from appearing in recruitment process without notice.
p) The decision of the department in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or
rejection of the applications, mode of selection, conduct of examinations and interview,
allotment of examination centres, mode/procedure for skill test, medical examination,
etc will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry/correspondence will be
entertained in this regard.
q) Candidates are advised to visit CRPF website (www.crpf.gov.in) from time to time to
know status of recruitment process.

ADVERTISEMENT
Walk-in-Interview for appointment of Doctors on contractual
basis will be held at Composite Hospital, Group Centre CRPF Campus, PO –
Udharbond, Silchar (Assam) Pin – 781 023 on 10/12/2013 at 0900 hrs for the
following posts :-
a) Specialists - 6 (1 each in Medicine, Surgery, Gyane
& Obs., Anaesthesia, Pathology &
Radiology)
b) GDMOs - 3
2. Qualifications:
Specialists- A recognised medical qualification included in the first
or second schedule of part-II of the Third Schedule (other than that
licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act,
1956. Holders of Educational qualification included in Part-II or the
Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in subsection
(3) of Section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act,
1956 with PG degree / Diploma in concerned speciality having 1 ½
years experience for Post Graduate degree holder & 2 ½ years for
Diploma holder in concerned speciality after obtaining the Post
Graduate Degree/Diploma or equivalent
For GDMOs- A recognised medical qualification included in the first
or second schedule of part-II of the Third Schedule (other than that
licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act,
1956. Holders of Educational qualification included in Part-II or the
Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in subsection
(3) of Section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
and have completed compulsory rotating internship
3. Remuneration : For Specialists – Rs. 57,672/-
For GDMOs – Rs. 47,775/-
4. Other conditions: Contractual employment will be for a period of 3
yrs only or till the appointee attains the age of 65 yrs or till regular incumbent
joins, whichever is earlier. Services of the appointee are terminable at any time
(on either side) by giving one month’s notice or by paying/refunding one month’s
pay without assigning any reason. Selection is purely contractual and does not
carry any right for regularisation or permanent absorption. Leave entitlement of
the appointee as will governed as per DoPT OM No. 12016/3/84-Estt(L) dated
12/4/1985, as amended from time to time. No TA/DA is admissible for the
interview. Candidates will be medically examined by a Board of Medical Officers
detailed by concerned CH. Appointment will be subject to medical

Note :-(i) Vacancies released/notified above are subject to variation i.e. may increase
or decrease at the time of recruitment, due to administrative reasons.
(ii) There will be restriction of domiciliary status for recruitment of above
posts. The candidates belonging to the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka,
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra and Gujarat will only be considered for
recruitment in their respective States on production of valid “Domicile
certificate” to prove their domiciliary status, issued by the competent revenue
authorities so authorised by the concerned State.
(iii) Candidates can apply FOR ONLY ONE POST (TRADE). CANDIDATES
APPLYING FOR MORE THAN ONE POST/TRADE WILL BE CONSIDERED
ONLY FOR ONE POST/TRADE.
(iv) If suitable Ex-servicemen candidates are not available, vacancies reserved for Ex-
Servicemen will be filled up by non-Ex.Servicemen candidates of respective
categories.
2. The Pay Scale for the above post(s) is Pay Band-1 Rs. 5200 – 20,200 with Grade
Pay Rs. 2,000/-.
3. Other Allowances - The post will carry dearness allowance/Ration Money as
admissible from time to time, free accommodation, free uniform, free medical facilities, free leave
pass once in a year during leave, and other allowances as admissible under rules in the Force.
4. Place of duty: Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere
within as well as outside the Territory of India.
5. New contributory pension scheme to Central Govt. Employees which has come into
effect from 01/01/2004 will be applicable to all selected candidates.
6. Persons serving in Government/Semi Government departments should produce “No
objection certificate” from their employer at the time of recruitment process ( i.e. at the time of
STAGE-I : (PST/PET).

7. Wards of serving personnel of CRPF, who are residing with their parents, may apply
either from their home state or from the state in which their father/mother is posted/deployed at
the time of recruitment. To avail this concession, at the time of recruitment process (Stage-I),
they will have to submit certificate from the Head of Office of the serving Force personnel, as per
format given in Appendix-E.
8. Eligibility conditions for above posts are as under:
A) Education
Qualification
The candidate must have passed Matriculation or equivalent
examination from a Board or University recognised by Central or State
Government.
Technical
Qualification
a) For post of Constable (Fitter), candidates must possess
either 2 year ITI Certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle
issued by National Council for Vocational Training approved by
DGET, Ministry of Labour which is an apex body Or Diploma in
Automobile issued by All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE) approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development,
which is an apex body. Further for post of Constable (Fitter)
the candidates should have one year experience. However,
wards of CRPF personnel who have undergone training in ITIs
run by CRPF are exempted from one year practical experience.
b) For post of CT (Driver), candidates should possess “Transport
Vehicle” driving licence and pass the driving test at the
time of recruitment. DRIVING LICENCES POSSESSED BY
THE CANDIDATES SHOULD BE IN CONFORMITY WITH
THE PROVISIONS OF MOTOR VEHICLES ACT, 1988.
c) For post of CT(Bugler/ Tailor/ Cobbler/ Carpenter/Gardener/
Painter/ Pipe Band/ Brass Band/ Cook/ Water Carrier/Safai
Karmachari / Barber/ Washer man/Woman & Hair Dresser),
candidates should be having good working knowledge of trade
in which he/she wishes to be enlisted.
d) Candidates should qualify trade test at the time of recruitment
process.
C) Age Between 18 to 23 Years as on 01/01/2014.
Relaxation
a) Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ ST candidates
and 3 years for OBC candidates.
b) The children and dependent family members of those who
were killed in the riots of 1984 would be eligible for relaxation
in upper age by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or
OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this clause will be
in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in (a) above. To
obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District
Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be
attached with the application.
c) Upper age limit upto 05 years is also relaxable for those
persons who had originally been domiciled in the State of J & K
during the period from 1st January, 1980 to 31st December,
1989. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the
relaxation so provided in this clause will be in addition to the
age relaxation as applicable in (a) above. The persons claiming
relaxation under this category should produce a certificate to
the effect that they had been domiciled in the State of J & K
during the period from 1st January, 1980 to 31st December,
1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they
had originally resided or from any authority designated in this
behalf by the Govt. of J & K.
d) The children and dependent family members of those who
were killed in the riots of 2002 in Gujarat would be eligible for
relaxation in upper age by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to
SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this
clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in
(a) above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the
concerned District Magistrate of the district where the victim
was killed, should be produced at the time of recruitment.
D) Physical Standards
HEIGHT For Male candidates - 170 Cms.
For Female Candidates - 157 Cms
Relaxation
i) Minimum Height of candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis,
Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to
the States of Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir will
be for -
Male candidates - 165 Cms
Female candidates - 155 Cms
ii) Minimum Height of candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim,
Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram,
Meghalaya and candidates hailing from Gorkha Territorial
Administration (GTA) comprising of the three sub-Divisions of
Darjeeling District namely Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong and
including the following “Mouzas” sub Division of these district i.e

i) Minimum chest of male candidates falling in the categories of
Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates

Kashmir will be un-expanded - 78 Cms with minimum 5 Cms
expansion.
ii) Minimum chest of male candidates belonging to the States Sikkim,
Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram,
Meghalaya will be un-expanded - 77 Cms with minimum 5 Cms
expansion.
iii) The minimum chest for all male candidates belonging to Scheduled
Tribes will be un-expanded - 76 Cms with minimum 5 Cms
expansion
WEIGHT Proportionate/corresponding to height and age as per Medical
standard.
Note: Over/under weight will be disqualification at the stage
of Medical examination only.
Note :-For getting relaxation in height and chest, candidates falling in the categories of
Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to
the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram,
Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are required to
submit prescribed certificate as per format given in Appendix-D.
E) Medical
Standards
a) Eye Sight :
i) The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes
without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
ii) Colour blindness will be a disqualification for the above posts and
if at any stage of their service career, if they are found to be
colour blind, they will be boarded out as per SHAPE Policy in
vogue.
b) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose
vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.
They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from
any physical defects likely to interfere with the efficient
performance of the duties. (They should conform to the medical
standards prescribed by the Force and should be declared fit by
the Medical officer of the CRPF).
c) Medical Test (X Ray & Laboratory) shall be conducted only in
respect of those candidates who are found otherwise medically
fit. No appeal will lie if the candidate is declared unfit in X-Ray
or in other test/examination.
9. ELIGIBILITY FOR RE-EMPLOYMENT OF EX-SERVICEMEN
Ex-servicemen means a person, who has served in any rank whether as combatant
or non-combatant in regular in Army, Navy and Air Force of the Indian union and:-
(a) Who either has been retired or relieved or discharged from such service
whether at his own request or being relieved by the employer after earning
his pension or
(b) Who has been released from such service on medical grounds attributable to
military service/circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or
other disability pension or
(c) Who has been released, otherwise than on his own request from such
service as a result of reduction in establishment: or
(d) Who has been released from such service after completing the specific
period of engagement, otherwise than at his own request or by way of
dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency and has
been given a gratuity and include personnel of the Territorial Army namely,
Pension holders for continuous embodied service or broken spells of
qualifying service.
e) Personnel of the Army Postal Service who are part of Regular Army and
retried from Army Postal Service without reversion to their parent service
with pension or are released from the Army Postal service on medical
grounds attributable to or aggravated by military service or circumstance
beyond their control and awarded medical or other disability pension.
(f) For recruitment of Ex-servicemen for the post of Constable (Tech. & Trade)
in CRPF:-
(i) Physical Standard : Total relaxation
(ii) Medical Category : SHAPE-1 (One)
(iii) Character : Exemplary/Very Good/Good
(iv) Break in service : Not more than 24 months
(v) Education : Total relaxation
(vi) Age Limit : Age concession for Ex-Servicemen will be
allowed in accordance with the orders issued
by the Govt. of India from time to time and
they will be allowed to deduct Military service
from their actual age and such resultant age
should not exceed the Prescribed age limit by
more than three years.
(g) No race/Physical Efficiency Test will be held for Ex-servicemen at the time of
their recruitment in CRPF. However, Ex-servicemen will be required to
appear in written test, trade test & medical examination.
(h) Ex.Servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under
Central Government in Group-C posts on regular basis after availing of the
benefits of reservation given to Ex.Servicemen for their re-employment are
NOT eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under
EX.SERVICEMEN category. However, they will be eligible for age relaxation.
10. APPLICATION AND APPLICATION FEES
(i) Eligible and desirous candidates should send their applications in the
proforma given in Appendix-A. Application forms duly completed in all
respects and after affixing latest passport size photographs be sent to the
authorities, as mentioned below, located within the State of domicile of
the candidate so as to reach there on or before 1700 hrs on
23/12/2013. It should be superscribed on the envelope that
“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (TECH & TRADE) IN

(ii) All candidates will also send two self addressed envelopes of 4” x 9” size duly
affixing postage stamps for Rs. 22/- thereon, alongwith their applications.
(iii) The male candidates belonging to General and OBC categories should
also send alongwith their application forms, application fee of Rs. 50/-
(Rupees fifty only) by means of crossed IPO/Demand Draft/ Banker's
Cheque drawn in favour of the Deputy Inspector General of Police of
concerned application receiving centre, mentioned above. The IPO/Demand
Draft/Banker's Cheque should be purchased / drawn after the date of
publication of advertisement and should be payable/encashable at Post
office/Bank where the application receiving centre is situated. Applications of
Male candidates belonging to General and OBC categories will be
straightaway rejected if application fee, as above, is not attached
alongwith the application.
(iv) Male candidates belonging to SC and ST Categories and Female candidates
are not required to pay application fee. Similarly, Ex.Servicemen candidates
eligible for reservation are also exempted from application fee.
(v) EXCEPT FOR TWO SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPES WITH POSTAGE
STAMPS AS MENTIONED IN (ii) ABOVE AND APPLICATION FEES IN
THE FORM OF IPO/DEMAND DRAFT/ BANKER’S CHEQUE BY MALE
CANDIDATES BELONGING TO GENL AND OBC CATEGORIES, no other
document/testimonials is required to be attached/sent alongwith the
application forms.
(vi) To avoid rejection of applications, it is in the interest of the candidates that
the candidates should ensure that the IPO/Demand Draft/Banker's Cheque
being sent by them are in order and have signatures and seals, etc, wherever
required.
(vii) Fee once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.
(viii) Applications received after last date fixed for receipt of application
i.e. 1700 hrs on 23/12/2013 will not be accepted.
(ix) Candidates can also drop their envelopes containing applications in the drop
box placed for the purpose at the main gate of the respective application
receiving centres.
(x) Name of trade/post applied for should be clearly mentioned in Column No. 12
of the application form. If name of trade/post is not mentioned, then
application will be straightaway rejected.
(xi) CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATIONS TO THE CORRECT
APPLICATIONS RECEIVING CENTRE ACCORDING TO THEIR STATE
OF DOMICILE. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED IN ANY OTHER
CENTRE/OFFICE WILL BE REJECTED SUMMARILY.
(xii) Incomplete applications or applications not in prescribed proforma
(Appendix-A) will be summarily rejected and no further correspondence will
be made/entertained in this regard.
11. SELECTION PROCESS
Candidates whose applications are accepted will be issued call letters by the
Application Receiving Centres intimating place and date on which they are required
to appear for the recruitment process. Stage-I of recruitment process will be
different for posts of Constable (Driver & Fitter) from that of all other posts.
However, remaining process/Stage will be same for all posts. Candidates will have
to undergo tests as per details given below.
STAGE - I (Physical efficiency test/Physical standards test)
a) HEIGHT BAR AND 5 KMS RACE (QUALIFYING NATURE): FOR POST OF
CONSTABLE (DRIVER & FITTER) - MALE CANDIDATES ONLY
At the very beginning, candidates will be asked to go through the height bar
and thereby, candidates with lesser height will be eliminated and will not be
allowed to participate in further process of recruitment and will be given
rejection slip intimating reasons for rejection. Those candidates who qualify
the height bar will be subjected to 5 Kms race to be completed in 24 minutes.
Note:- The candidate (s) who do not qualify the 5 Kms race will be
eliminated and will not be allowed to participate in further process of
recruitment and will be given rejection slip intimating reasons for rejection.
b) PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST - FOR ALL OTHER POSTS EXCEPT
CONSTABLE (DRIVER & FITTER) – MALE AND FEMALE CANDIDATES.
At the beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be subjected to
one mile race (1.6 Kms) to be completed as under:-
Male candidates - In 10 minutes
Female candidates - In 12 minutes
This test will be only qualifying in nature. Candidates, who do not qualify the
race, would be eliminated from the recruitment process by giving rejection slip
intimating reasons thereof by the Presiding Officer.
c) Screening of testimonials for all Posts/Trades:
Following Original testimonial/documents of the candidates who qualified 5
Kms / one mile race (1.6 Kms) will be checked and only eligible candidates will
be permitted to the next stage of recruitment. Candidates who fail to produce
requisite original testimonials / certificates will be eliminated from the
recruitment process and in no candidates will be allowed provisionally.
(i) Educational certificates.
(ii) Date of birth certificate. (Matriculation or 10th pass certificate).
(iii) Domicile certificate issued by competent revenue authority to prove their
domiciliary status.
(iv) SC/ST and OBC Certificate, if applicable. It should be on the proforma as
prescribed in Appendix-B & C respectively. Caste certificates which are
not in prescribed proforma as in Appendix-B & C will not be
accepted.
(v) Candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas,
Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim,
Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya,
Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir requesting for relaxation in
height and chest should produce certificate in proforma/format given in
Appendix-D.
(vi) Original Driving licence and Technical/Trade/Professional certificates.
(vii) One year experience certificate (for post of Constable/Fitter only) as
stated in Para-8(B)(i).
(viii) Discharge certificate in case of Ex-servicemen.
(ix) No Objection Certificate in case of persons serving in Govt./Semi-Govt.
Departments from their Head of office.
(x) In case of wards of serving CRPF personnel, who are applying in State other
than their Home State, certificate as per format given in Appendix-E has to
be produced.
(xi) Four passport size recent photographs of the candidates.
(xii) In addition to the original certificates, the candidates will also
bring Xerox/photo-copy of educational, caste, technical/ trade and
experience certificates, driving licence, etc duly attested by a
Gazetted officer.
d) Physical measurement/standard test
(i) The candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will
be screened for height, chest and weight by the Board of Officers. The
candidates who meet the requirements of physical standard will be
allowed to participate in the written test. The candidates who do not
fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from
recruitment process by giving rejection slip, thereof, by Presiding
Officer. However elimination on grounds of weight will be done at time
of medical examination only.
(ii) During the process of recruitment, if any candidate is not satisfied with
measurement of his/her physical standard, he/she can prefer
appeal on the same day to the PO Recruitment Board against rejection
in physical measurement. Such candidates will be given a fresh date by
the Presiding Officer of the recruitment board for appearing for remeasurement
by appellate authority. The decision of the appellate
authority in this regard will be final. If candidate is found to be within
the prescribed standard, he/she will be forwarded to next selection
process in continuation.
STAGE –II : WRITTEN TEST
The candidates who qualify in STAGE-I (PST/PET) will be informed in writing on the
day of PST/PET (Stage-I) itself about the dates on which they are required to
appear for written test and place of test. The written test will be as under:-
i) The written test will be of 100 marks consisting of two parts, i.e., Part-I -
Knowledge expected from a Class – 10 pass candidates and Part-II relating
to knowledge of the Trade.
ii) Part-I of Question Paper will consist of 50 objective type questions
carrying 1 mark each to assess the following:
a) General awareness / general knowledge
b) Knowledge of elementary mathematics
c) Analytical aptitude.
d) Ability to observe and distinguish patterns.
e) Basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi.
iii) Part-II of Question Paper will also have objective type questions of 50
marks, separately for each trade to assess the knowledge of the candidate in
respective trade. Candidate applying for a particular trade will be given
question paper pertaining to that trade only.
iv) The questions will be set both in Hindi and English. Candidates will have the
option to answer either in Hindi or English.
v) Questions in Part-I & II are to be answered using a pen. Use of pencil will
not be allowed.
vi) The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours.
vii) No representation for revaluation of written examination paper or re-conduct
of written examination will be entertained.
viii) Candidates should bring clip boards and pens for written examination.
ix) Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile phone, calculators or any other
electronic/electrical device. Candidates, therefore, must not bring these
devices inside the examination premises. Possession of these items,
whether in use or not, will be considered as “use of unfair means” in the
Examination and appropriate action will be taken against such candidates.
(x) Results of written examination will be displayed at the written
examination centres. Candidates will be informed on the day of written
examination about the dates on which the results of written examination will
be displayed at examination centres. Candidates who qualify in written
test should appear for next phase i.e. Trade Test, after ascertaining
their results from the result displayed at examination centres. No
separate letter/written communication will be given to the
candidates for Trade test.
STAGE –III: TRADE TEST
(a) The candidates who qualify in written test will be put through trade test
which will be qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks for practical
Trade Test, a candidate must secure 20 marks to qualify. Marks of
Trade test will not be taken into account for preparing merit list of
selected candidates. During Trade test, a candidate will be asked to
perform any activity pertaining to that particular trade for which he/she has
appeared/applied. The parameters for each trade will be as under :-
i) Driver : Knowledge of driving trade. Handling, driving, parking & maintenance of
light & heavy vehicles
ii) Fitter : Knowledge in automobiles fitter/motor mechanic trade. Handling of
tools, etc.
iii) Bugler : Playing of Bugle.
iv) Tailor : Taking measurement of persons, cutting / stitching of Terry Cotton
uniform/Civil Clothes. Cutting / stitching of warm clothing/uniform.
v) Cobbler : Having Knowledge of his Trade. Polishing of Shoes, handling of tools,
cutting of leather, repair and stitching of shoes. Making of new shoes.
vi) Carpenter : Handling tools, cutting of wood, fitting, polishing and finishing of
materials, Knowledge of fitting of doors and windows / fixing of glass
panes on windows. Able to make wooden boxes, racks and to make a
timber truss.
vii) Painter : Knowledge of colours, paints, shades, painting of sign boards, painting
and drawing/knowledge of spray painting of motor vehicle etc.
Knowledge of colour scheme by mixing different paints/ distempering.
Able to write letters neatly on banners and boards. Able to work out
quantity of paints required for wood painting and CGI sheet painting.
viii) Gardener : Knowledge of Plantation, maintenance of plants, Knowledge of seeds
and their seasons, fertilizer and manures.
ix) Brass Band : Knowledge of playing Brass Band instruments.
x) Pipe Band : Knowledge of playing Pipe Band instruments.
xi) Cook : Cooking of Chapati & Rice / Vegetable / Dal / Sambhar / Idli etc. for 100
men, cooking of Meat / Fish /Egg/ Kheer.
xii) Water Carrier :: Washing of utensil, kneading of Atta for making chapattis for about 100
men and cutting of vegetable etc.
xiii) Safai
Karmachari
: Sweeping of floors, open area and cleaning of toilets, bathrooms etc.
xiv) Barber : Handling of tools, hair cutting and shaving.
xv) Washerman/
Washerwoman
: Washing of clothes, Ironing of Khaki cotton Uniform, woolen and TC
Uniform.
xvi) Hair Dresser : Handling of tools and hair cutting of Mahilas.
(b) Selection of Candidates for medical examination:-
The number of candidates to be medically examined will be equal to the
number of vacancies increased by average failure rate during medical
examination determined on the basis of past experience/ recruitment.
(c) Details of candidates selected for Medical examination will be
displayed at the written examination centres. Candidates will be
informed on the day of trade test about the dates on which the details of
candidates selected for Medical Examination will be displayed at examination
centres. Candidates should appear for medical examination, after
ascertaining their results from the result displayed at examination
centres. No separate letter/written communication will be given to
the candidates for Medical Examination.
STAGE –IV: MEDICAL EXAMINATION
a) The candidates qualified in trade test and secured merit (as per written
examination marks) will be medically examined to assess their physical and
medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions. During medical
examination, “Temporary unfitness” will not be allowed.
b) The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical & medical
fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions. Medical tests (X-Ray and
Laboratory) shall be conducted by Medical Officer of CRPF as prescribed in
eligibility criteria only for such candidates who are found fit.
c) Appeal against Medical Examination:-
(i) If a candidate is declared unfit for appointment in CRPF during
Medical Examination, grounds for rejection will be communicated to
him/her in broad terms by the Medical Officer duly countersigned by
the Presiding Officer. The candidates, if not satisfied with the
findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for review
medical examination with a proof of his/her fitness, from a Medical
Practicener, in the form of a medical certificate as given in
Appendix-F, to the following authorities:-

(ii) The appeal will not be taken into consideration unless:-
(a) Medical certificate regarding fitness of candidate, from a Medical
Practitioner, is submitted. Further, the medical certificate
submitted should contain a note by the Medical Practitioner
concerned to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge
of the fact that the candidate has already been rejected as unfit
for appointment in CRPF by a Medical Officer.
(b) Medical re-examination fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees twenty five only)
through IPO/Banker's Cheque/Demand Draft in the name of the
Appellate Authority as mentioned above, is submitted alongwith
the appeal.
(c) The appeal is submitted within 15 days from the date of issue
of the communication in which the findings of the Medical
Officer are communicated to the candidate.
(iii) The candidates whose appeals are accepted will be issued with call
letter for appearing before review medical board of CRPF for Review
Medical Examination. The findings of the review medical board will
be final. Further, During review medical examination also, the XRay
and Pathological tests will be done only if the candidate is
declared medically fit. No appeal will lie if the candidate is declared
medically unfit in X-Ray or in any other test/examination conducted
during Review medical Examination.
STAGE- V : DRAWAL OF FINAL MERIT LIST
i) After completion of medical examination test, post and category wise merit namely
General, SC, ST, OBC & Ex-servicemen will be drawn separately on the basis of the
aggregate marks obtained in written test by the candidate.
ii) The merit lists will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in written
test by the candidates. In case tie in marks, the merit list will be prepared in the
following order:-
(a) The candidate older in age gets preference.
(b) If the tie still persists, it is finally resolved by referring to the alphabetical
order of names i.e. a candidate whose name begins with the alphabet which
comes first in the alphabetical order gets preference.
iii) The list of finally selected candidates will be displayed on the notice board of the
recruitment centre and posted on CRPF recruitment website as well as published in
newspapers followed by issue of offer of appointment.
STAGE-VI : FINAL SELECTION
(i) Final selection of the candidate will be made in order of merit in each category, for
respective posts, on the basis of marks secured in the written test. The cutoff
percentage of marks for appointment will be as under:-
General and Ex-Servicemen : 35 %
SC/ST/OBC : 33 %
(ii) An undertaking shall be taken from all the selected candidates at the time of joining
that if at any stage of their service career, if they are found to be colour blind they
will be boarded out as per the SHAPE Policy in vogue and enclose with their Service
Records.
12. In case any candidate is found ineligible or suppressing facts on any ground at any
time, before, during or after his/her selection/appointment, his/her candidature/ services will be
terminated without assigning any reason.
13. GENERAL CONDITIONS:-
a) Decision of the concerned recruitment board will be final.
b) On appointment, candidates shall be governed by the CRPF Act and Rules as
well as all such Govt. instructions/rules issued from time to time, as
applicable.
c) Candidates will have to appear for selection/test at their own risk/expenses
and no TA/DA will be admissible. They will also have to make their own
arrangements for stay during recruitment which may continue for 20 to 30
days.
d) Candidates are advised to have sufficient practice for the race/PET before
coming for recruitment. They are further advised to get themselves
medically examined regarding their suitability to run the specified distance in
the given time. CRPF will not be responsible for any injury/mishap or
medical problem during the course of recruitment process/test.
e) Education Certificate, caste certificates, driving licences and other
testimonials/ documents in original are required to be produced during
STAGE-I (PST/PET) of the recruitment process. Candidates not producing
original documents shall be rejected at the initial stage itself.
f) Candidates seeking reservation benefits as SC/ST/OBC/ Ex.Servicemen must
ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed
in the advertisement. They should also be in possession of the certificates
in the format prescribed by Government of India in support of their
claim.
g) Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination
Certificate or an equivalent certificate produced during the course of
recruitment will only be accepted for determining the age eligibility and no
subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
h) The admission of candidates at all the stages of examination will be purely
provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Undergoing medical examination at the end of the recruitment process does
not guarantee appointment as the offer of appointment will be made only
according to allotted vacancies, for each category in respective posts, from
the merit list in the order of seniority of the candidates.
i) In case candidates are appointed in CRPF and thereafter seek resignation or
discharge as per rule shall be required to remit to the Govt. a sum of equal
to three months pay and allowances or the cost of training imparted to him
whichever is higher.
j) All the posts are combatised and are purely temporary but likely to continue.
k) Selected candidates will have to undergo prescribed training for specific
period at any of the Training Centres of the Force. If any candidate does
not qualify the prescribed training, his/her services are liable to be
terminated.
l) Canvassing in any form or bringing outside influence will automatically
disqualify the candidate from appearing in tests without notice.
m) Candidates having the right aptitude, capability, fitness and knowledge of
respective trade, may apply for the posts.
n) Before applying, all the candidates who wish to appear for enlistment are
advised to go through the requirements of educational & technical
qualifications, age, physical standards, etc and satisfy themselves that they
are eligible for the posts
o) Mobile and other electronic gadgets are banned within the premises of
recruitment centres.
Note: - Beware of Touts. No money is charged for recruitment in CRPF. If anyone
demands money or promises recruitment, inform the Presiding officer of recruitment
board immediately.
