PhD Scholarships @ National Board for Higher Mathematics

Scholarship Details: Candidates will receive a scholarship amount of Rs.16,000 per month for the first and second year and Rs.18,000 per month for subsequent years, A contingency grant of Rs.20,000 per year and house rent allowance as per central government norms wherever applicable. The Scholarships are normally for a total period of four years, sanctioned for one year at a time and renewable at the end of each year, subject to satisfactory progress. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have completed their MA/M.Sc. degree in mathematics on or before August 1, 2015. Candidates for the NBHM PhD scholarship must be motivated MA/ M.Sc. (Mathematics) degree holders or final year students of these degree programs. Candidates must have a good academic record. How to Apply: Candidate should prepare applications on plain paper according to the given format and send it along with a recent passport sized photograph and a self-addressed envelope affixed with a Rs.5/- postage stamp. The envelope containing the application should be super scribed NBHM PhD Scholarship. Selection Procedure: Candidates must appear for a written test which will feature questions based on topics normally covered in masters’ degree programs in mathematics.
