Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), Chennai, invites applications for admission into its Master of Veterinary Science, M.Phil. in Biotechnology, M.Sc. in Biostatistics & Bioinformatics and Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics, Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosis, Companion Animal Practice and Business Management in Animal & Fisheries Sciences programs for the session 2014. Eligibility For M.V.Sc. Program: Candidates possessing a BV.Sc. / BV.Sc. & AH degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereof shall be eligible to apply. The candidates should have completed their degree from colleges recognized by the Veterinary Council of India. For M.Phil. in Biotechnology Program: A candidate with Masters degree in the disciplines of Biological / Biomedical Sciences like Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Molecular Biology, Gene Technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science etc. from a recognised university with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent OGPA in the respective PG degree. For M.Sc. in Bioinformatics Program: Candidates must be any graduate with a minimum qualification of BV.Sc., BV.Sc. & AH, MBBS, BDS, or B.Sc. degree in any branch of Agriculture / Life Sciences / Genetics / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Microbiology / Pharmacology or equivalent of Indian or Foreign University with an OGPA of 2.75/4.0 in trimester system or 6.5/10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC / ST candidates. How to Apply Candidates can download the application form from official website. Selection Procedure The selection of candidates for admission to M.Sc. (Bioinformatics) will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and the qualifying examination marks. Candidates will be selected for M.Phil. program, based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and other criteria as detailed below: Entrance examination: 75 Marks in postgraduate degree: 10 Service/experience: 5 Publications: 5 Medals/awards: 5 Total marks: 100 The selection of candidates for admission to M.V.Sc. programs shall be done on the basis of the marks obtained in the common entrance examination and the qualifying examination marks obtained in the BV.Sc. & AH degree program.
