Commission will hold a Combined All India Open Examination on 26.05.2013 for recruitment to the posts of JUNIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL) and JUNIOR ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL) in Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and Department of Posts, JUNIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL), JUNIOR ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL), JUNIOR ENGINEER (Quantity Surveying & Contract) in Military Engineering Service (MES), JUNIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL & MECHANICAL) in Central Water Commission (CWC) and Farakka Barrage, for which Degree or Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an institution recognized by Govt. of India or equivalent qualification is the minimum qualification. The Examination will comprise of a Written Examination followed by Interview.

The Commission will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for the eligibility and other aspects at the time of written examination and, therefore, the application is accepted only provisionally. The candidates are advised to go through the requirements of educational qualification, age etc. and satisfy themselves that they are eligible before applying. Copies of supporting documents will be sought only from those candidates who qualify for the Interview. When scrutiny is undertaken, if any claim made in the application is not found substantiated, the candidature will be cancelled and the Commission‗s decision shall be final.

Candidates seeking reservation benefits available for SC/ST/OBC/PH/EXS must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in the Notice .They should also be in possession of the certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim .

Candidates with physical disability of 40% and more only would be considered as PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED (PH) and entitled to reservation for PH. The Posts are not identified suitable for VH persons.

Central Government civilian employees/servants claiming age relaxation should be in position to produce certificate in the prescribed format from their office in respect of the length of continuous service which should be for not less than three years in the immediate period preceding the closing date for receipt of application. They should continue to have the status of Central Government civilian servants/employees from the day of application till the time of appointment on the basis of their performance in this examination, to be eligible for such age relaxation.

Candidates must carry at least one photo bearing IDENTITY PROOF in original such as Driving Licence, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity Card issued by University/College, Income Tax Pan Card etc to the examination centre, failing which THEY SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR FOR THE EXAMINATION.
F.No. 3/13/2012- P&P-II: Staff Selection Commission will hold on Sunday, the 26.05.2013, an open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical ) in CPWD Department of Posts, Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage and Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying and Contracts) in MES, a Group ‗B‘ Non-Gazetted, Non Ministerial post, classified as General Central Service (Technical) in the Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800/- plus Grade Pay Rs.4200/-, all over the country. 2. VACANCIES / RESERVATION : Firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course. (ii) Reservation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ ExS/ PH etc. categories is available as per extant Govt. Orders and as communicated by the departments reporting vacancies. Vacancies for Ex.Servicemen are reserved only for Group ‗C‘ posts and not for Group ‗B‘ posts as per extant Government orders/instructions. (iii) The posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL) i.e. the candidate, on selection, may be asked to serve anywhere in the country. (iv) The posts have been identified suitable for the persons suffering from disabilities of forty percent and above of One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), Both Legs (BL), Partially Deaf (PD) and Deaf (D). 3. NATIONALITY / CITIZENSHIP A candidate must be either: (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India. 4(A). AGE LIMIT :
(i) 18-27 years for Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) in CPWD and Department of Posts
(ii) Not exceeding 30 years for Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) in MES
(iii) Upto 32 years for Junior Engineers (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage.
(iv) 18-27 Years for Junior Engineers(Quantity Surveying and Contract) in MES
Note I : As per extant Government Orders, the crucial date for age-limit is reckoned with reference to 01.01.2013.

Note.II: Candidates are advised to opt only for such posts for which they are within prescribed age limits.

NOTE-I : Ex.Servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central
Government on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen for their re- employment are NOT eligible for fee concession. However, they are eligible for age relaxation, as per rules.
NOTE-II : The period of "Call up Service" of an Ex-Serviceman in the Armed Forces shall also be
treated as service rendered in the Armed Forces for purpose of age relaxation, as per rules.
NOTE-III : The post of Junior Engineer being a Group ‗B‘ post, there is no reservation for Ex-Servicemen category. However, benefit of age-relaxation will be admissible to Ex-Servicemen candidates, as per extant Govt. Orders.
EXPLANATION-I : An Ex-Serviceman means a person who has served in any rank whether as a combatant or non-combatant in the Regular Army, Navy, Air Force of the Indian Union, and
(i) who retired from such service after earning his/her pension. This would also include persons who are retired/retire at their own request but after having earned their pension; or
(ii) who has been released from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service/circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or other disability pension; or
(iii) who has been released, otherwise than on his own request from such service as a result of reduction in establishment; or
(iv) who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagements, otherwise than at his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, and has been given a gratuity; and includes personnel of the Territorial Army of the following categories, namely:-
(a) Pension holders for continuous embodied service,
(b) Persons with disability attributable to military service; and
(c) Gallantry award winners.
EXPLANATION-II :
The persons serving in the Armed Forces of the Union, who on retirement from service, would come under the category of ―ex-serviceman‖ may be permitted to apply for re-employment one year before the completion of the specified terms of engagement and avail themselves of all concessions available to ex-servicemen but shall not be permitted to leave the uniform until they complete the specified term of engagement in the Armed Forces of the Union.
NOTE-IV: AGE CONCESSION IS NOT ADMISSIBLE TO SONS, DAUGHTERS AND DEPENDENTS OF EX-SERVICEMEN
4 (C). PROCESS OF CERTIFICATION AND FORMAT OF CERTIFICATES:
Candidates who wish to be considered against vacancies reserved or seek age-relaxation must submit requisite certificate from the competent authority, in the prescribed format whenever such certificates are sought by concerned Regional/Sub Regional Offices. Otherwise, their claim for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ ExS status will not be entertained and their candidature/ applications will be considered under General (UR) category. The formats of the certificates are annexed. OBC certificate with creamy layer status issued by the competent authority as prescribed by DOPT in the prescribed proforma should have been obtained within three years before the closing date of receipt of application i.e.

15.03.2013. Certificates issued up to the last tier of examination i.e. interview will also be accepted by the Commission.
NOTE I : Candidates are warned that they may be permanently debarred from the examination
conducted by the Commission in case they fraudulently claim SC/ST/OBC/ExS/PH status.

Note : Commission has decided to dispense with Work Experience for the post of JE(C,M & E) in MES in view of multiple posts and All India nature of the examination.

NOTE-I: As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification No. 44 dated 01.03.1995 published in Gazette of India edition dated 08.04.1995, the Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized for the period when the candidates acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
NOTE-II: Candidates who have not acquired/will not acquire the educational qualification as on
(01.01.2013) will not be eligible and need not apply.
NOTE-III: All candidates who are called for appearing at the Interview will be required to produce the relevant Certificates in Original such as Mark sheets, Provisional Degree/Diploma Certificate, etc. as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the closing date failing which the candidature of such candidate will be cancelled by the Commission.
NOTE-IV: ExS who have done various courses from Armed Forces which are certified by competent Authority to be equivalent to Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering are eligible to appear in the Examination.
6. MODE OF PAYMENT OF FEE PAYABLE Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only):
(i) CANDIDATE MAY NOTE THAT ONLY ON LINE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT http:// ssc online.nic.in
(ii) The candidates submitting their applications on-line should pay the requisite fee only through State Bank of India either in the form of Challan or through SBI net banking. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribes are exempted from paying fee.
NOTE I: Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
7. CENTRES OF EXAMINATION:
A candidate must indicate the centre in the Application Form in respect of the Examination. A candidate must submit his/her application only to the concerned Regional/Sub Regional Office of the Commission under whose jurisdiction the Centre selected by him / her falls. Application received in any other Regional/Sub Regional Office of the Commission will be rejected summarily.

NOTE I: No change of Centre of Examination will be allowed under any circumstances. Hence, the candidates should select the centres carefully and indicate the same correctly in their applications. NOTE-1: In Paper-I and Paper-II for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt only one part i.e. Part-A or Part-B or Part-C as per option given in the application form by the candidate. In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer(Quantity Surveying & Contract) should attempt Part A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) should attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) should attempt Part C ( Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II failing which he/she would be awarded ZERO marks.
NOTE-2: Candidates are allowed to bring their own Slide–Rule, Non Programmable Calculator, Logarithm Tables and Steam Table for Paper-II only. They are not allowed to use such aids for Paper-I.
NOTE-3: Paper-I will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions only. Answer- sheets of Paper-II (Conventional Type) will be evaluated in respect of only those candidates who qualify in Paper-I at the standard as decided/fixed by the Commission at its discretion.


Note-4: Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile Phone or any other electronic / electrical device other than those specifically permitted in Note-2. Candidates must not, therefore, bring Mobile Phone or any other electronic /electrical device not specifically permitted inside the Examination premises. Possession of these items, whether in use or not, will be considered as ―use of unfair means‖ in the Examination and candidature of such candidates will be cancelled forthwith. Such candidates are also liable for debarment upto a period of 5 years and/or criminal prosecution.
Note-5: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
Note-6: Commission will place the answer keys of Paper-I on its website in about 7 days of the Examination. Objections and claims if any, received within the time limit specified while placing answer keys will be examined by the Commission with the help of experts, if necessary.
B. Personality Test (Interview): 100 marks
NOTE-I: Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion, will be eligible to appear in the Interview. The interview will be held at places as may be decided by the Commission.
NOTE-II: SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid TA as per Government Orders. However, no TA is payable to any candidate for appearing in the written examination.
NOTE-III: Canvassing in any form whatsoever will lead to cancellation of the candidates.
Note-IV: The Commission may, its discretion fix minimum qualifying standards in interview.
9. SYLLABUS
The standard of the questions in Engineering subjects will be approximately of the level of Diploma in Engineering (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical) from a recognized Institute, Board or University recognized by All India Board of Technical Education. All the questions will be set in SI units. The details of the syllabus are given below:
Paper-I
(i) General Intelligence & Reasoning: The Syllabus for General Intelligence would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate‘s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and other analytical functions.
(ii) General Awareness: Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate's general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions

relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity and Scientific Research, etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

10. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BE COMPLIED BY THE CANDIDATES IN THE
WRITTEN EXAMINATION:
(i) Candidates must write the papers/indicate the answers in their own hand.
(ii) Candidates are not permitted to use calculators and other electronic gadgets except as specified in the Notice. They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Premises / Venue for papers for which their use is not permitted.
(iii) If any candidate is found to possess mobile phones or any other means of wireless communication in the working or switched off mode, his/her candidature shall be cancelled forthwith.
(iv) Wherever applicable, the candidates must indicate /write the answer either in Hindi or in English. If answers are indicated/written partly in Hindi and partly in English and vice versa, the Answer script will not be evaluated and the candidate will be awarded zero marks.
(v) In the question papers, wherever necessary, the Metric systems of weights and measures only will be used.


(vi) OMR Type of Answer Sheets will be supplied by the Commission to candidates for recording their answers of Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions. Candidates are advised to read very carefully, the instructions, placed on the Commission‘s website(Candidate‘s Corner), and instructions on OMR sheets/Question Papers in their own interest. Model OMR sheet is also provided on the website to enable the candidates to practice proper marking of the answers in objective type papers.
(a) PART A AND PART B OF OMR ANSWER SHEET TO BE FILLED IN BLUE/BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY.
(b) Candidate should write his/her name, Roll Number, Ticket Number, Name of the Examination , Date of birth and Test Form Number correctly, in the relevant places in OMR Answer Sheet. Answer Sheet not bearing candidate‘s Name, Roll Number, Ticket Number, Test Form No. signature and left hand thumb impression or in which such details have not been properly shaded will not be evaluated and ‗Zero‘ marks will be awarded to them.
Note-I: Paper-II of only such candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Paper-I will be evaluated.
Note-2: The Commission will fix separate qualifying standards in Paper-II of the written examination.
11. MODE OF SELECTION:
Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview on the basis of their total marks in the Written Examination subject to Note-I and 2 below para 10. Candidates who qualify for Interview will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Written Examination and Interview.
Provided that SC, ST, OBC and PH (OH/HH) candidates, who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards, along with candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies. Such SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates will be accommodated against the general/unreserved vacancies as per their position in the overall Merit List. The reserved vacancies will be filled up separately from amongst the eligible SCs, STs, OBCs and PH candidates which will thus comprise of SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates who are lower in merit than the last general candidate on merit list of unreserved category but otherwise found suitable for appointment even by relaxed standard. A Physically Handicapped category candidate who qualifies on the basis of relaxed standards viz., age limit, experience or qualifications, permitted number of chances in written examination, extended zone of consideration, etc. will be counted against reserved vacancies and not against general vacancies subject to fitness of such candidate for selection. Such candidates may also be recommended at the relaxed standards to the extent the number of vacancies reserved for them, to make up for the deficiency in the reserved quota, irrespective of their rank in the order of merit.
Success in the examination confers no right of appointment unless government is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respects of appointment to the service/post.


NOTE-I: The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If, on verification, at any time before or after the written examination and skill test, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the Commission.
NOTE-II: Candidates, who are appointed on the basis of this examination, shall be on probation for a period of two years and during the period of probation, the candidates would be required to undergo such training or pass such examinations as prescribed by the Controlling Authority. On successful completion of the period of probation, the candidates shall, if considered fit for permanent appointment, be confirmed to their post by the Controlling Authority.
12. RESOLUTION OF TIE CASES
In cases where more than one candidate secure the equal aggregates marks, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:-
(i) Total marks in written examination.
(ii) Marks in Paper-II.
(iii) Marks in Paper-I.
(iv) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
(v) Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appear.

15. ADMISSION TO THE EXAMINATION
All candidates who apply in response to this advertisement by the CLOSING DATE will be assigned Roll numbers. These will be communicated to them or placed on the website of the concerned Regional Office at least two weeks before the date of the examination. A candidate must write his/her Roll number along with his/her name, date of birth and name of the examination while addressing any communication to the concerned regional office of the Commission. Communication from the candidate not furnishing these particulars shall not be entertained.
Admission Certificates (ACs) for the Examination indicating the time table and also venues of examination for each candidate will be issued to all applicants about two weeks before the date of examination. IF ANY CANDIDATE DOES NOT RECEIVE ADMISSION CERTIFICATE FOR THE EXAMINATION ONE WEEK BEFORE THE DATE OF EXAMINATION, HE/SHE MUST IMMEDIATELY CONTACT THE CONCERNED REGIONAL/SUB REGIONAL OFFICE (S) OF THE COMMISSION WITH DETAILS SUCH AS REGISTRATION ID, TRANSACTION ID OF SBI, COPY OF CHALLAN ETC FOR OBTAINING THE ADMISSION CERTFICATES. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DEPRIVE HIM/HER OF ANY CLAIM FOR CONSIDERATION. SUCH FACILITY WILL BE AVAILABLE ABOUT TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE EXAMINATION.
16. COMMISSION’S DECISION FINAL
The decision of the Commission in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, penalty for false information, mode of selection, conduct of examination(s) and interviews, allotment of examination centres, selection and allotment of posts/organizations to selected candidates will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry/correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
17. Action against candidates found guility of misconduct:
Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false or suppress any material information while filling in the application form. Candidates are also warned that they should in no case attempt to alter or otherwise tamper with any entry in a document or the attested certified copy submitted by them nor should they submit a tampered/fabricated document. If there is any inaccuracy or any discrepancy in filling OMR sheet, they will be awarded ―ZERO.‖
Without prejudice to criminal action/debarment from Commission’s examination wherever necessary, candidature will be summarily cancelled at any stage of the recruitment in respect of candidates found have indulged in any of the following:-
(i) In possession of MOBILE PHONE & ACCESSORIES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS WITHIN THE PREMISES OF THE EXAMINATION CENTRES, WHETHER IN USE OR IN SWITCH OFF MODE AND ON PERSON OR OTHERWISE.
(ii) Involved in malpractices found on the basis of post examination analysis.
(iii) Using unfair means in the examination hall.
(iv) Obtaining support for his/her candidature by any means.
(v) Impersonate/Procuring impersonation by any person.
(vi) Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with.
(vii) Making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material information.
(viii) Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature for the examination.
(ix) Misbehaving in any other manner in the examination hall with the Supervisor, Invigilator or Commission‘s representatives.
(x) Taking away the Answer sheet with him/her from the examination hall, or passing it on to unauthorised persons during the conduct of the examination.
(xi) Intimidating or causing bodily harm to the staff employed by the Commission for the conduct of examination.
(xii) To be ineligible for the Examination by not fulfilling the eligibility conditions mentioned in the Notice.
(xiii) Candidature can also be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment for any other ground which the Commission considers to be sufficient cause for cancellation of candidature.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP THE APPLICATION
I. The Commission uses standard application form for all its examinations. Therefore, in your own interest please read the instructions given in the Notice of Examination and also given below carefully before filling up the application form. .

3. In Part I registration, candidate will have to fill basic information. On submission of details, candidate shall be prompted to check the details and make any correction in the application.
4. Candidate should press ―I agree‖ button after declaration once after he/she finds that information supplied by him/her is in order and no correction is required. Thereafter no correction/modification etc. shall be allowed.
5. Then a page with Registration No. shall be generated. Note down registration number or take out the print out of the page. The application procedure is incomplete without part II registration. Part II registration requires filling of payment details, uploading of photograph and scanned signature. The Prasar Bharati (PB), is a statutory autonomous body established under the Prasar Bharati
(Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act 1990. It is India’s largest broadcaster and comprises
Doordarshan & All India Radio. It wishes to recruit young and skilled personnel for manning the
posts of Engineering Assistant & Technician in offices spread all over the country. Applications are

C. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BE COMPLIED BY THE CANDIDATES IN THE WRITTEN
EXAMINATIONS.

D. RESERVATION AND RELAXATIONS:
1. The prescribed qualifications, experience and the age limit shall be reckoned as on
01.01.2013. The maximum age limit can be relaxed for following Categories as given below:
(i) 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates
(ii) 3 years for OBC candidates.
(iii) 10 years in case of PH candidates [15 years for person with disability
(PWD) candidates belonging to SC/ST and 13 yrs for PWD candidates
belonging to OBC.]
(iv) Age is additionally relaxable by 5 years for those applicants who had
ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division in the State of Jammu
and Kashmir during the period 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989. Any applicant
intending to avail the relaxation under this category shall have to submit
a certificate from (a) The District Magistrate in Kashmir Division within
whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided or (b) Any other
authority designated in this behalf by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir to
the effect that he/she had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir
Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, during the period from 01-01-
80 to 31-12-89.
(v) For Ex-servicemen the upper age limit shall be relaxed by allowing the
deduction of length of actual military service from his actual age and
the resultant age should not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed
for the post by more than three years(8 years in case of SC/ST
candidates; 6 years in case of OBC candidates).
(vi) The casual assignees working in Stations and Kendras of All India Radio
and Doordarshan shall be eligible for relaxation of age for direct
recruitment to the extent of their services rendered as Engineering
Assistant/Technician on casual basis. Provided that a minimum of 120
days service in a calendar year shall be reckoned as one year service.
Engagement of less than one hundred and twenty days in a calendar year
shall not qualify for such age relaxation.
(vii) In case of employees of the Prasar Bharti who apply for the post of
Engineering Assistant upper age limit will be relaxable upto 5 years. For
employees who apply for the post of Technician, this relaxation will be
upto the age of 40 years.
NOTE : The benefit of reservation and age relaxation will not be available to OBC
candidates falling within the creamy layer.

E. GENERAL INFORMATION :
1. All the posts carry Central Government pattern pay scales and usual allowances such as
DA, CCA, HRA, Leave Travel facilities etc. Gross emoluments would vary depending upon
place of posting.
2. All appointments will be subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Prasar Bharati, inforce
from time to time. Other benefits like CPF, Gratuity, Leave Travel Concessions,
Leave Encashment, Medical reimbursement, conveyance reimbursement, etc., shall be
applicable as per the rules of the Prasar Bharati as amended from time to time.
3. The candidates on selection to a particular Zone may be posted in any state within the
jurisdiction of that Zone. However, they are also liable to be posted anywhere in the
country in the interest of the Prasar Bharati.
4. Candidates must ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria, viz., age &
qualifications as on 01.01.2013.
5. PB/SSC reserves the right to conduct additional examination/skill test or call for any
additional documentary evidence in support of educational qualifications & experience
of the applicant.
6. No TA will be provided for the Written Test.
7. Original certificates along with one set of attested photocopy will be scrutinized/
verified to ascertain the eligibility of the candidate for the concerned post either at the
time of interview or document verification.
8. In view of the large number of applications, scrutiny of the eligibility & other aspects
will not be undertaken before issuing call letters for written test or before calling for
document verification. The candidates are, therefore, advised to go through the
requirements of educational qualifications, age etc. & satisfy themselves that they are
eligible, before applying for any particular post. Copies of supporting documents
along with originals will be sought only for verification of documents for short
listed candidates. Candidature will be cancelled if any information or claim is not found
substantiated at the time of verification of documents.
9. If a candidate is unable to produce all the original documents due to whatsoever reason
at the time of interview/document verification, his candidature would be rejected.
Under no circumstances additional time would be provided. Thus, only those candidates
are advised to apply who can produce all the relevant documents in original at the time
of verification.
10. Issue of admit card for the written test or short listing for Document Verification does
not confer any right of acceptance of candidature and should not be construed as an
acknowledgement of fulfilling the eligibility criterion. It does not give indefeasible right
to an individual for employment with Prasar Bharati.
11. Filling up of these vacancies is subject to the outcome of any litigation affecting the
recruitment.

12. No correspondence will be entertained about the outcome of the application, at any

will be assigned Roll numbers. These will be communicated to them or placed on the website
of the concerned Regional Office at least two weeks before the date of the examination.
2. No change of Centre of Examination will be allowed under any circumstances. Hence,
the candidates should select the centres carefully and indicate the same correctly in their
applications.
3. The Commission reserves the right to cancel any Centre and ask the candidates of that
centre to appear from another centre. Commission also reserves the right to divert candidates
of any centre to some other Centre to take the examination.
4. Candidates are not permitted to bring or use Mobile Phone, Calculators or any
other electronic / electrical device for answering any paper (Test Booklets). Candidates
must not, therefore, bring Mobile Phone, Calculators or any other electronic / electrical
device inside the Examination premises. Possession of these items, whether in use or not, will
be considered as use of unfair means in the Examination and his/her candidature shall be
cancelled forthwith besides inviting debarment for a period of 5 years and/or criminal
proceedings.
5. Paper-I in the examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions
and Paper-II will be descriptive type. Candidates must write the papers/indicate the answers
in their own hand. For objective type multiple choice question paper, OMR Answer sheets
will be provided by the Commission. Part A & B of OMR Answer Sheet to be filled in
black/blue Ball Point Pen only as per instructions given in OMR Sheet. Candidates are
required to write and mark their Name, Roll Number, Ticket Number and Test Form Number
of question booklet correctly on the OMR Answer sheets by darkening the appropriate ovals.
Candidates are also required to sign their name in running hand and affix left hand thumb
impression on the answer sheets. Answer Sheets not bearing the candidate‘s Name, Roll
Number, Ticket Number, Signature, Left Thumb Impression (LTI) etc. and duly coded in the
space meant for the purpose will not be evaluated and awarded Zero mark. If any candidate
belonging to reserved category does not write and code their category properly in the OMR
Answer Sheet, they will be treated as belonging to UR category. OMR answer sheets are read
by machine and, therefore, failure to comply with any of the instructions will result in award of Zero marks. Candidates in their own interest should strictly follow the Instructions given
on the question booklet/ OMR Answer sheet. No representation regarding non-compliance of
instructions will be entertained by the Commission.
6. Candidates are not permitted to use calculators and other electronic gadgets except as
specified in the Notice. They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination
Premises / Venue.
7 In the question papers, wherever necessary, the Metric systems of weight & measures
only will be used.
8. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in all Objective
Type Multiple Choice Question Papers. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in
mind while answering the questions.
9. RESOLUTION OF TIE CASES: If candidates for a particular post have the
same aggregate marks in the Examination then the tie will be resolved by referring to
the total marks of Paper-II ( for post code ‘B’)/Interview of the examination i.e. a
candidate having more marks in Paper-II/Interview will be given preference, wherever
such papers are prescribed. If the tie still persists then the total marks in Paper-I ( for
post code B)/Paper-II (followed by Paper-I( for post code A) of the examination will be
referred to i.e. a candidate having more marks in this Paper will be given preference.
This procedure will be followed by Date of Birth, i.e., the candidate older in age will get
preference. Lastly, if the tie still persists, the tie will be finally resolved by referring to
the alphabetical order of names, i.e., a candidate whose name begins with the alphabet
which comes first in the alphabetical order will get preference
10. Final results will be declared by the Prasar Bharti after receiving merit list (Zone
wise, Post wise, Category wise) from SSC.
11. Admission Certificates (ACs) for the Examination indicating the time table and also
venues of examination for each candidate will be issued to all applicants about two weeks
before the date of examination by the respective regional office of SSC. IF ANY
CANDIDATE DOES NOT RECEIVE ADMISSION CERTIFICATE FOR THE
EXAMINATION ONE WEEK BEFORE THE DATE OF EXAMINATION, HE/SHE
MUST IMMEDIATELY CONTACT THE CONCERNED REGIONAL/SUB REGIONAL
OFFICE (S) OF THE COMMISSION WITH PROOF OF HAVING SUBMITTED HIS/HER
APPLICATION. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DEPRIVE HIM/HER OF ANY CLAIM
FOR CONSIDERATION. CANDIDATES ALSO HAVE THE OPTION TO DOWNLOAD
THE ADMISSION CERTIFICATES FROM THE CONCERNED SSC REGIONAL/SUB REGIONAL OFFICES WEBSITE. SUCH FACILITY WILL BE AVAILABLE ABOUT
TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE EXAMINATION.
12. Candidates who are unable to download their Admission Certificates or do not
receive their Admission Certificates at least one week before the date of the examination
should contact the concerned Regional Office with details such as Registration ID,
Transaction ID for obtaining the Admission Certificates. Details of deficiency, rendering the
applications ineligible, if any, may also be placed on the Commission‘s website
((http://ssc.nic.in) about two weeks before the examination.
13. The decision of the Commission/ PB in all matters relating to the conduct of
examination and preparation of merit list will be final and binding on the candidates and no
enquiry/correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
14. Action against candidates found guility of misconduct:
Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false or suppress
any material information while filling in the application form. Candidates are also warned that they
should in no case attempt to alter or otherwise tamper with any entry in a document or the attested
certified copy submitted by them nor should they submit a tampered/fabricated document. If there is
any inaccuracy or any discrepancy in filling OMR sheet, they will be awarded “ZERO.”
Without prejudice to criminal action/debarment from Commission’s examination
wherever necessary, candidature will be summarily cancelled at any stage of the recruitment in
respect of candidates found to have indulged in any of the following:-
(i) In possession of MOBILE PHONE & ACCESSORIES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC
GADGETS WITHIN THE PREMISES OF THE EXAMINATION CENTRES,
WHETHER IN USE OR IN SWITCH OFF MODE AND ON PERSON OR
OTHERWISE.
(ii) Involved in malpractices found on the basis of post examination analysis.
(iii) Using unfair means in the examination hall.
(iv) Obtaining support for his/her candidature by any means.
(v) Impersonate/Procuring impersonation by any person.
(vi) Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with.
(vii) Making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material information.
(viii) Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature
for the examination.
(ix) Misbehaving in any other manner in the examination hall with the Supervisor, Invigilator
or Commission’s representatives.
(x) Taking away the Answer sheet with him/her from the examination hall, or passing it on to
unauthorised persons during the conduct of the examination.

(xi) Intimidating or causing bodily harm to the staff employed by the Commission for the
conduct of examination.
(xii) To be ineligible for the Examination by not fulfilling the eligibility conditions mentioned
in the Notice.
(xiii) Candidature can also be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment for any other ground
which the Commission considers to be sufficient cause for cancellation of candidature.
Candidates who have not affixed their signature or LTI or who have not written or coded
details such as Name, Roll Number, Ticket Number and Test Form Numbers or not furnished the
declaration/certificate on Page-I of the OMR answer sheet in Paper-I will be awarded ‘ZERO’ mark.
15. SSC is undertaking the recruitment on consultancy basis and, therefore, any dispute
regarding the recruitment, RTI applications etc. should be addressed to the PB.
