PhD Programs 2017 @ BITS, Pilani

Adminissions Program details:
Research areas,
  • Biological Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Economics and Finance, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical, Pharmacy, Physics.

Eligibility:
  • Candidates with M.E./M. Pharm./MBA/M. Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination are eligible.
  • Candidates with an M.Sc./B.E./B. Pharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate may also be considered for Ph.D. admission subject to their suitability and competence. For Ph.D. program in Humanities and Social Sciences, candidates with an M.A. and with minimum of 55% aggregate may also be considered.
  • Full time students: Candidates are required to devote their full time towards PhD
  • Part time students: Candidates working in organizations situated in close vicinity of campuses of BITS Pilani will be eligible.

PhD Program (Winter) 2016 @ DAIICT Gandhinagar

Adminissions Eligibility:
DA-IICT admits doctoral students under four categories:
  • Category A: Candidates willing to pursue research in ICT, and related domains must possess a degree in M. Tech/ME/MCA/M. Sc/M. Phil /B. Tech/B.E or equivalent degree in ICT/CS/EC/IT/EE /Mathematics/Statistics/Physics/Bioinformatics/Electronics or other appropriate disciplines. Candidates should have obtained at least 60% marks or its equivalent in the qualifying degree as per the norms set by the degree awarding Institute/University.
  • Category B: Candidates seeking admission to PhD Program in Computational Science, Mathematics and Natural Sciences must possess the following qualification M. Sc/M. Tech./ M. Phil/B. Tech/BE or equivalent degree in Engineering Physics/ Computational Science/Scientific Computing/Physics/ Mathematics/ or other appropriate disciplines.
    Candidates should have obtained at least 55% marks or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University. M Phil Degree holders will be preferred.
  • Category C: Candidates seeking admission to PhD Program in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences must possess one of the following postgraduate qualifications: M.A./M.Com/MBA/ M. Phil or an equivalent Degree in the desired discipline.
    Candidates should have obtained at least 55% marks or equivalent as per the norms set by the Degree awarding Institute/University. M Phil Degree holders will be preferred.
  • Category D (Sponsored Candidates): Candidate interested in pursuing Ph.D. in ICT and related areas must have at least 60% marks or equivalent in the qualifying degree, and must satisfy the following criteria: Educational qualifications as mentioned in category A or B above with three years of relevant experience. Candidates should be sponsored by an R&D organization with whom DA-IICT has established over five-years of cooperative research programme or has signed an MOU.

Sponsored Category
Candidates seeking admission to PhD Program in ICT and related areas through the sponsored category must have at least 60% marks or equivalent in the qualifying degree, and category A, B or C above, with 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Application fee (non-refundable) is Rs. 1200/- (Rupees One thousand two hundred only).

Selection process:
  • Institute will invite applications from students who are offered PhD admission, and recommend suitable candidates to TCS. TCS reserves the right of final selection.
  • CSIR-NET Fellowship: Candidates who have qualified through the NET examination and admitted to the program can avail their CSIR fellowships.

DA-IICT Fellowship
All those admitted as full-time PhD students will be eligible for financial support in the form of Teaching Assistantship (TA)/Research Assistantships (RAs). The assistantship is Rs.18000/- per month at the beginning and may get revised up to a maximum of Rs.24000/- per month based on the research performance of the student.

The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has recognized DA-IICT as one of the Institutions to administer the TCS Research Scholar Program.

Period
  • For a maximum of four years or submission of thesis, whichever is earlier:
  • Fellowship: Rs. 28,000/- per month for the first two years and Rs.32000/- per month for the next two years. Other Incentives are:
  • A contingency of Rs. 100,000/- is available in first year for use during the tenure of studies.

Naval Armament Inspection Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) Course -2017 @ Indian Navy

Adminissions Eligibility: Candidates should have passed BE/ B. Tech degree or in the final year of Engineering Course in any one stream i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Instrumentation, IT, Chemical Metallurgy and Aerospace Engineering with minimum 60% aggregate marks till V semester.

Age: 19 ½ - 25 years, born between 02 Jul 1992 and 01 Jan 1998; both dates inclusive.

How to apply:
Candidates are to fill in ‘e-application' (Online). One copy of this Application Form is to be duly signed and mailed (posted) to Post Box No. 02, Sarojini Nagar PO, New Delhi - 110 023 along with the required documents:
Note: - Only one application is to be filled by a candidate.

Selection process:
  • Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in educational qualification. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short - list applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account.
  • SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled from December 16 to March 17 at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidates in their application form).
  • The total duration of SSB interviews is five days consisting of stage I (Day one) and stage II (Four days). Stage I Tests, consist of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Group Discussion Tests. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be sent back on the same day from SSB Centre. Stage II Tests consists of Psychological Tests, Group Task Tests and Interview. Successful candidates will undergo medicals examination (approx 3-5 days).
  • Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the SSB on receipt of call up letter.
  • No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained to a candidate during SSB tests.
  • Return First Class (AC III Tier/AC Chair Car) rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for this Commission on production of railway ticket.
