Study Scholarships, 2016 @ Swedish Institute, Sweden

Scholarships Scholarship Details:
  • Number of scholarships: 300.
  • Duration of the scholarship: 1 or 2 years. The scholarship is granted for one academic year (two semesters) at a time. It will be extended for programmes longer than two semesters, provided that the student has passed his/her courses/credits.
  • The scholarship covers both tuition fees (paid directly to the Swedish university/university college by the Swedish Institute) and living expenses to the amount of SEK 9,000 per month.
  • Scholarship also covers travel grants of onetime payment of SEK 15,000.

Eligibility:
  • Scholarship is available to the candidates who been admitted to one of the eligible master programs in Sweden.
  • Candidate should have at least two years’ work experience.
  • Candidate must display outstanding academic qualifications and leadership experience.

How to apply:
  • Candidates can apply through online from 1st December, 2015.

Important Dates:
Application period opens with a first application round: 1st – 15th December, 2015
Notification to successful candidates: 8th January, 2016
Submission of detailed application for the second selection round: 1st – 13th February, 2016

Juris Doctor Scholarships, 2016 @ University of Newcastle, Australia

ScholarshipsContest Details:
Image Entry criteria:
  • Un-published work entered into the competition must have been taken between the dates of January 1st and December 31st 2015.
  • Published work may have been taken at any point in history, but must have been commissioned or acquired or first published between the dates of January 1st and December 31st 2015. Eligible publications include magazines, newspapers, on-line and print editorial, self-publishing websites, including personal sites as well as commissioned gallery exhibitions.
  • Images should be no smaller than 800KB and no larger than 5MB. Images should be either JPEG or TIFF files.
  • All images must be saved in the RGB colour model and EXIF data must be left in the image file.
  • All entrants must be able to supply a high resolution image suitable for printing in exhibitions. Categories
  • The professional 14 categories are divided into two distinct groups: Documentary and Art.
  • Documentary photography is representational with the aim of conveying information, in contrast to Art photography, which is usually subjective to the artist.
  • Art photography refers to a wide range of photography, which goes beyond the act of recording realistic renditions of the subject and aims to produce a more personal interpretation by the artist/photographer.

Prize Details:
Winners of the competition will receive:
  • The Title of “Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of The Year" and cash prize worth $25,000.
  • Membership to the “World Photography Academy”
  • Exhibition showcase of entire winning series at the Sony World Photography Awards 2016 exhibition and winners book

Abraaj RCA Innovation Scholarships,2016 @ Royal College of Art, UK

Scholarships Scholarship Details:
  • Number of Scholarships: 5
  • Scholarship covers full international tuition fees along with living costs to study at a Master’s level for two years at the Royal College of Art in London.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants from the 23 countries in which the Abraaj Group operates are eligible to apply for the scholarship. (UAE, Turkey, Mexico, Singapore, Algeria, Brunei, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand and Tunisia)
