#100 Women Initiative Contest by Ministry of Women and Child Development

Scholarships Nomination Categories:
The nominations shall be accepted in the following 20 categories.

  • Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
  • Animal Welfare
  • Art & Culture
  • Improving the Child Sex Ratio
  • Commerce, Industry and Entrepreneurship
  • Community Mobilization

  • Hygiene & Sanitation
  • Innovation, Science & technology

  • Media
  • Nutrition
  • Sports
  • Women in public life
  • Women empowerment

Contest Details:
  • The women selected will be considered the Top 100 Women who took Initiative for a cause.
  • All nominations received will potentially be made public.
  • If any of the Nomination submitted gets 100 likes then it will move on to Jury’s Choice round.
  • Once the voting process begins for the contest, each person on Facebook will have one vote per category (total 20 votes).

Eligibility:
  • Nominations are accepted from anyone around the world but Nominees must be Indian citizens, working in India.
  • Nominees must be above the age of 18 years as on December 31, 2015.

How to Apply:
  • candidates have to fill nomination forms that are available on the Facebook page of Ministry of Women & Child Development
    • Visit the official website of Facebook
    • Click on Submit Nomination.
    • Fill in the Nomination form/ Select the category for the nomination
    • Upload photo or video of the nominee doing work in the community. Thereafter you have to explain why you think they should be selected. Fill in the basic contact information and their date of birth.
    • Review and accept the rules and regulations
    • Submit your nomination
    • Make the post Public so that it receives the maximum likes
    • Ask your friends and family to support nomination and like the post

Google India Code to Learn Contest, 2015

Scholarships Contest Details:
  • The 9 winners (3 from each class group) will get a certificate of achievement and a Nexus tablet or Chromebook laptop or an equivalent gift.
  • All the finalists will get a certificate of achievement.

Eligibility:
  • The contest is open to all students in classes 5 to 10 enrolled at any school in India.
  • The students will compete in three class groups:
    • Classes 5 & 6
    • Classes 7 & 8
    • Classes 9 & 10
  • Employees, interns, contractors, and official office-holders, as well as their immediate families, of Google, its affiliates, and any representatives or agencies of Google or other persons professionally connected with the contest are not eligible to participate.

Selection Process:
  • The selection of the participant is based on:
    • Originality - a unique and novel idea of the project.
    • Application of Computer Science concepts - number of different concepts applied and their relevance to the project idea. Standard concepts include Variables, Looping, Conditional execution, Input and Output.
    • Complexity of the project - as measured using standard techniques for analysis of algorithms.
    • Adherence to the Contest Requirements and Rules.
  • The judges will select 10 finalists from each class group.
  • All the 10 finalists from each class group will go through a second round of judging to select 3 winners from each group.

How to Apply:
  • The Submission for the participants is to be done by their Parents or Legal Guardian.
  • The students can use Scratch and App Inventor for the purpose of coding. Once the coding has been done the project is to be shared using Google Drive.
  • To submit your project on Google Drive:
    • Create a folder on your Google Drive.
    • Upload or Copy the files related to the project to the new folder.
    • In case of App Inventor, upload only ‘.aia’ files not ‘.apk’files.
    • After the copy or upload is done, share the folder with code2learn@google.com
    • Once the folder has been shared, the link of the folder need to be pasted on the submission page.

Important Dates:
Last date for submission: 15th August, 2015
Announcement of finalists: On or after 15th September, 2015
Announcement of winners: On or after 30th September, 2015

Srinivas Rayaprol Poetry Prize, 2015

Scholarships Contest Details:
  • The winners are awarded with a cash prize of Rs.15,000/- and a citation will be presented at a literary event in Hyderabad in the month of October 2015.

Eligibility:
  • Participants must be citizens of India having age between 20 – 40 years.

How to Apply:
  • Participant entries should include:
    • Three (3) different, unpublished poems written by the applicant.
    • Evidence of age (scanned copies of passport, driver’s license, pan card, or any other valid id)
    • Complete contact information (including phone numbers and email addresses).
  • The entries should be sent via email to: rayaproltrust@gmail.com
