Junior/Senior Research Fellowship Programmes @ CPRI

Scholarships Areas of Research

Fellowship Details:
  • Duration of the Fellowship: 3 Years (may be extended for one more year )
  • Junior Research Fellows(JRF) will receive a fellowship worth Rs. 20,000/- per month and Senior Research Fellows will receive a fellowship worth Rs. 30,000/- per month.
  • SRF and JRF shall get up to Rs.25,000/- as a lump sum payment per year, based on the recommendation of the committee.
  • There shall be a 10% increment in Fellowship every year.
  • contingency expenditure up to Rs. 20,000/- during the programme.
  • Expenditure towards attending seminars/training programmes relevant to the project, will be provided as per CPRI norms.

Eligibility:
Candidate must:
  • For SRF: Postgraduate in Engineering with first class in the relevant area of specialization with consistently high level of academic record, aptitude for research with valid GATE/ UGC NET score.
  • For JRF: Graduate in Engineering having first class with consistently high level of academic record, aptitude for research and valid GATE / UGC NET score.

Age limit:
  • The upper age limit for JRF as well as SRF is 30 years as on last date for submission of applications. The age is relaxable by 3 years in case of OBC candidates and 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

Selection Process:
  • The candidates are selected based on average percentage of marks obtained in all semesters in the qualifying examination(Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineering) , GATE / UGC NET score and marks obtained in personal interview.
  • The shortlisted candidates should apply to VTU or any other centrally-funded/state-funded institute through “CPRI Research Centre” for admission to M.Sc.(Engg) / PhD, Candidates who pass the entrance examination & interview and are declared eligible for M.Sc.(Engg)/PhD, by such institutes will be awarded Fellowship by CPRI.

  • Candidates should pay an application fee of Rs. 250/- for M.Sc.(Engg) / Rs.500/- for PhD by Demand Draft in favour of “Senior Accounts Officer, CPRI” payable at Bangalore, should be enclosed along with the application. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category are exempted from payment of application fee.
  • The duly filled in application form along with DD and all necessary enclosures should be sent in a sealed cover superscribed with “application for JRF / SRF” to:

JRF @ Institute for Plasma Research

Scholarships Fellowship Details:
  • Duration of the fellowship: 2 Years
  • Number of posts: 1
  • Candidates will receive Rs. 25000/month plus 10% HRA as per DST rules.

Eligibility:
  • Candidates should have M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering/ Mater Science with minimum First class from a recognized university

Age Limit:
  • The upper age limit is 28 years as on 30th June, 2015.

How to Apply:
  • Candidates can directly walk-in for the interview with detailed CV (affixed photograph) and supporting documents (attested copies of mark sheet degree/ certificate/ testimonials) and report at registration desk near seminar Hall at 9.30 am.
  • Candidates should produce all the original documents at the time of registration.

PhD Studentship, 2015 @ Cardiff University, UK

Scholarships Scholarship Details
  • Number of studentships: 1
  • Studentship consists of full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a Doctoral Stipend of matching UK Research Council National Minimum (£14,057 per annum for 2015/16, updated each year).

Eligibility:
  • Studentship is open to students of any nationality.
  • Students classified as international for fee purposes have to self-fund the difference between home and international fees.
  • Applicants should hold or expect to gain a first class numerate degree or a good 2.1 and/or an appropriate Master’s level qualification (or their equivalent).
  • Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).
