Applications are invited for Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, (PDRFs) at IIM Calcutta. The research work during the postdoctoral period should be in areas that are of interest to both postdoctoral fellows and the Institute. The number of positions awarded will be depending on the number of suitable candidates identified through the screening process. Scholarships Details The duration of the fellowship will be for a period of 2 years with continuation of fellowship in the second year subject to satisfactory performance in the first year. In no case will the fellowship be extended beyond two years. Fellowship Stipend: Rs.40,000 -45,000/ p.m., depends on the level of prior experience of the chosen candidate. Contingency Grant: A contingency grant of Rs.50,000/ per annum will be provided to the post-doctoral research fellow for research purposes. Eligibility Criteria Candidates with a Ph.D. Degree can apply within five years after completion of Ph.D. Those who have submitted their thesis for Ph.D degree may also apply. The thesis must be in appropriate discipline. Applicants must have a consistently good academic record and demonstrated research potential. The age limit for applicants for the PDRFs will be a maximum of 35 years (this limit may be relaxed by 5 years for women and reserved category). Applications are invited from interested candidates for Senior, Junior Fellowships at Wildlife Institute of India. Wildlife Institute of India is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. Scholarship Details The WII wishes to engage five research fellows [02-Senior Research Fellows (SRFs) and 03-Junior Research Fellows (JRFs)] (Indian National only) for a period of six years for its research project titled “Tiger re-introduction and recovery program in Panna Tiger Reserve and the landscape complex, Madhya Pradesh: Phase-II”. Candidate(s) possessing Master’s Degree along with final year mark-sheet will only be eligible to appear for the interview. Candidates appearing in the final year of Masters’ Degree Program will not be eligible to apply for the advertised positions. The selection of the short-listed candidates will be based on interview likely to be held during the second week of June 2014 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. All original documents should be produced at the time of interview. Age of the candidate shall not be more than 28 years for the advertised position of JRF and 32 years for SRF as on Wednesday, 23rd April 2014. Upper age limit for SRF/JRF may be relaxed up to 5 years, as in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped categories. Short-listed candidate(s) selected for the interview shall be paid one way travel expenses to the candidates in General Category and both ways expenses to the candidates in SC/ST/OBC category, on producing the proof of journey performed. The expenses will be limited to second-class rail/bus fare by the shortest route from his/her place of residence to Dehra Dun. The fellowship amount for the selected Senior Research Fellow is Rs. 14,000/- consolidated per month and Rs. 18,000/- in case of NET qualified candidate(s) for Research Fellows (UGC/CSIR). Selected candidate(s) for the advertised position of JRF will be paid a consolidated emolument of Rs. 12,000/- per month as fellowship. Desirable Qualifications: Prior experiences in (a) Radio-tracking of wild animals; (b) capture-recapture sampling involving camera traps; (c) Occupancy sampling; (d) socio-economic surveys; (e) Spatial analysis using Remote Sensing and GIS tools.
