WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
A walk-in interview will be held on October 8th, 2013 at 10:00 hrs at Central Inland Fishery Research
Institute (CIFRI) Barrackpore for the post of SRF on contractual basis under the NBFGR project
entitled "Risk and benefit assessment of an illegally introduced fish species pacu-Piaractus
brachypomus in India" funded by National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad. Eligible and
desirous candidate to work in the State of West Bengal and fulfilling all the requirements should come
for an interview with duly filled in application giving full details of academic records and
experience(s) along with attested photocopy as well as original copy of the relevant documents and a

IIT Bhubaneswar Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme

Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme

Candidates preferably below 35 years having a Ph.D. Degree and willing to carry out advanced research in the fields of Basic Sciences; Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences; Electrical Sciences; Infrastructure; Mechanical Sciences; Humanities, Social Sciences & Management may apply for this position.
TenureThis is purely a temporary time-bound position, and must not be considered in any way as a permanent cadre of the Institute.
The fellowship is offered initially for a period of one (1) year, and may be extended for another year based on review of the contributions made by the Fellow.
ResponsibilityThe Fellow will be required to participate in the teaching and research activities of the Institute including mentoring young undergraduates and post-graduate students. The Fellow shall also carry out any other assignments related to academics as given by the Institute.
EligibilityConsistently good academic record followed by a Ph.D. degree in the relevant fields in Engineering/Science/Humanities. Only those candidates, who have received the Ph. D. degree within the past two years, will be considered.

Fellowship
  1. For Engineering: Rs. 30,000-35,000 depending on years of post-Ph.D. experience.
  2. For Science & Humanities: Rs. 25,000-30,000 depending on years of post-Ph.D. experience.
Other
  1. Suitable accommodation along with a contingency grant of Rs.40, 000 per annum will be admissible.
  2. House Rent Allowance as admissible, if accommodation is not provided.
  3. Medical and Leave benefit: As admissible by the Institute.

TATA INNOVATION FELLOWSHIP: 2013-14



Applications are invited for “Tata Innovation Fellowship”, a highly competitive scheme instituted by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India to recognize and reward scientists with outstanding track record in biological sciences and a deep commitment to find innovative solutions to major problems in health care, agriculture and other areas related to life sciences and biotechnology.

OBJECTIVE

The scheme is aimed at rewarding interdisciplinary work where major emphasis is on innovation and translational research with a potential towards commercialization.

ELIGIBILITY

i)     The fellowship is open to Indian Nationals residing in India who are below the age of 55 years as on 21st November, 2013.

ii)    The applicant should possess a Ph.D degree in Life Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary Science or a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences, Engineering or an equivalent degree in Biotechnology / related areas. The applicant must have put in several years of work in the specific area.

iii)   The candidate must have a regular position in a University/Institute/Organization and should be engaged in research and development. If he/she is availing any other fellowship, he/she will have to opt for only one of the fellowships.

iv)   The applicant should have spent at least 5 years in India before applying for the fellowship.


NATURE OF SUPPORT

i)     The amount of the fellowship is Rs. 25,000/- per month in addition to regular salary from the host institute. If an awardee is receiving salary from international organization, he will be entitled for research grant i.e. contingency only.


ii)    In addition, each Fellow will receive a contingency grant of Rs. 6.00 lakh per annum for meeting the expenses on consumables, equipment, international and domestic travel, manpower and other contingent expenditure to be incurred in connection with the implementation of ongoing research project under the fellowship.

iii)   The Tata Innovation Fellows would be eligible for other regular research grant(s) through extramural and other research schemes of various S&T agencies of the Government of India.



HOST INSTITUTION:

i)     The candidate will continue to work at the place of his/her employment.

ii)    The Institution where the candidate is working would provide the necessary infrastructure and administrative support for pursuing the research under this fellowship.

NUMBER:

Number of fellowships is 5 per year.

DURATION:

The duration of the fellowship will be initially for three years, extendable further by two years on a fresh appraisal.
