POLYTECHNIC COMMON ENTRANCE TEST -2013 (FORMERLY CEEP)
The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad will conduct “Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET)” for the candidates seeking admission in to all Diploma Courses in Engineering / Technology offered at Polytechnics / institutions (including Aided and Unaided Private Polytechnics / Institutions running as 2nd shift in Pvt. Engineering Colleges) in Andhra Pradesh State for the academic year 2013-2014.
2. Eligibility to appear for POLYCET-2013.
Candidates who have passed SSC or its equivalent & recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, A.P., Hyderabad are eligible. The candidates who have compartmentally passed or appearing for SSC are also eligible to apply. However, they must have passed in all the subjects before seeking admission.
Detailed information regarding eligibility, age and syllabi etc. are given in the “POLYCET-2013 Instructions-Booklet” which will be supplied along with the APPLICATION FORM and is available for sale at a cost of Rs 20/-(Rupees Twenty only) at all Govt Polytechnics, Private Polytechnics and AP online centers, for details visit http://sbtetap.gov.in)
3.How to apply:
State Board of Technical Education & Training, AP, Hyderabad has made arrangements to file online applications at various AP online/Helpline centres/ e-seva Centres/through payment gate way. The detailed list of these centres is available at http://sbtetap.gov.in website. In order to file application through these centres a filing fee of Rs.330/- (Rupees Three hundred and thirty only) (Excluding Application Cost) has to be paid to the operator by the candidate.
The detailed procedure of filling up of the application form is available in the instructions booklet supplied along with the Application Form. Candidates are advised to read these instructions carefully before filling-up the Application duly filled in the application form is to be given to the Operator for filing Online.

5. The Admission Schedule: The admission schedule (Web Counseling) will be notified in all
leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET results. Candidates are advised to note that
admissions into polytechnics for the academic year 2013-2014 shall be made on the basis of Web
Counseling, where in candidates can opt for any course at any polytechnic in the order of priority
and the allotment shall be made for his/her best preferred choice based on his/her merit and other
admission rules in vogue. Details of Web counseling and helpline centres will be available on our
website http://sbtetap.gov.in and shall also be notified in all leading Newspapers after declaration
of POLYCET RESULTS.
6. IMPORTANT DO’S FOR CANDIDATES.
a) Please note that only one Hall ticket will be generated against an APPLICATION FORM.
b) Fill the SSC Hall ticket Number, Year of Pass and Date of Birth on the application by verifying
your SSC Hall ticket /SSC Certificate or its equivalent, as the candidate data is taken from SSC
database.
c) The basic data pertaining to the candidates of other Boards is not available in the data base. The
candidate has to visit any of the centres along with his photo for filing online application.

Note-II Women candidates may note that for the post DFO (T) (code B) & DFO (GD) (code C) the job involves postings at arduous locations in field with all India transfer liability.
Note-III The upper age limit is relaxable for the following categories of candidates:-
a) SC/ST candidates by 5 years and OBC candidates by 3 years. Certificate to be submitted in the prescribed format as stipulated in the notice as and when required.
b) Central Government Employees working on posts in same line/allied cadre will be considered for age relaxation upto 5 years in upper age limit for group ‘B’ posts at Sl. No. 1,2 & 3. For Group ‘C’ post at Sl. No. 4, Central Government Employees working on posts in same line/allied cadre will be considered for age relaxation upto the age of 40 years provided they have rendered a minimum of 3 years continuous service in the Government of India offices/ departments as on cut-off date i.e. 01.01.2013 and continue to be in such service till their appointment in the Cabinet Secretariat.
c) Candidates of Jammu & Kashmir who have ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1.1.1980 to the 31.12.1989 will be eligible for grant of age relaxation in the upper age limit up to a maximum of 5 years.
d) Ex-servicemen candidates applying for Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts will be eligible for relaxation upto 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the cut off date.
Note-IV Candidate should possess the prescribed educational qualification and age as on 1-1-2013.
Note-V Only online applications (Annexure-I) will be accepted in website www.ssconline2.gov.in. In view of the huge number of applicants, scrutiny of the eligibility category etc. will not be undertaken at the time of Tier-I and Tier-II examination. Therefore, the application will be accepted provisionally only. The candidates are advised to go through the requirements of educational qualification, age, etc. and satisfy themselves that they are eligible, before applying and before indicating their preference for any particular post. Copies of supporting documents will be sought, only from those candidates who appear in tier-II examination, at the time of interview/ skill test/ document verification. Candidature will be cancelled if any information or claim is not found substantiated when the scrutiny of documents is undertaken after Tier-II of the Examination. The Department’s decision will be final in this regard.
Note-VI Candidates submitting their application online should pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (One hundred only) through State Bank of India challan or online account with SBI. Challan form will be generated online (please see ‘Annexure –II’ for filling online application). All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe are exempted from paying application fee, as per extant government orders.
Note-VII Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance.
Note-VIII Fee paid by modes other than SBI will not be considered and the applications of such candidates will be rejected outright and payment made shall stand forfeited.
Note-IX Candidates are advised to furnish correct information regarding their age, educational qualification and Caste/Category (i.e. SC/ST/OBC) in the application forms.
Note-X No change of Centre of Examination will be allowed under any circumstance. Hence, the candidates should select the centres carefully and indicate the same correctly in their applications. Any centre may be cancelled and candidates diverted to other centres.

Note-XII The medium of examination will be English.
Note-XIII Mode of selection: 3 tier process Candidates qualifying in tier 1 will be called for tier 2 and those qualifying in tier 2 will be called for tier 3 i.e. interview. Select panel to be derived on the combined score of tier 2 (Mains) and tier 3 (Interview). Tier 1 examination will be qualifying examination. In case of tie between 2 or more candidates, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of date of birth i.e. older candidate will be placed above the younger one.

Note-XVI The organisation will not be responsible for late / no receipt of call letters for Preliminary/ Main examination / interview, due to delay in postal channel.
Note-XVII MOBILE PHONE AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS ARE BANNED WITHIN THE PREMISES OF THE EXAMINATION CENTRES. POSSESSION OF SUCH EQUIPMENT WHETHER IN USE OR IN SWITCH OFF MODE, DURING THE EXAMINATION WILL BE CONSIDERED AS USE OF UNFAIR MEANS. CANDITATURE OF SUCH CANDIDATES WILL BE CANCELLED. Note-XVIII The employment carries with it the All India transfer liability.

Opportunities of Projects in RRCAT for Students |
RRCAT offers opportunities to the students pursuing degree in science and engineering from recognized institutions in India for carrying out project work towards partial fulfillment of their degree. Presently projects are offered to students pursuing the following degrees:
This scheme has no prescribed training programme/ curriculum. Each selected student has to carry out the project individually under the guidance of a Scientist/ Engineer of RRCAT, on all working days.
Eligibility and Minimum Project Duration:
Interested student has to send his/ her application in the prescribed form, as per the instructions given. Applications complete with ALL the required documents will only be considered. Application for the project work must be accompanied with the Certificate of Bonafide Student issued only by Principal/Head of the Institute. Applications without this form will NOT be considered. Applications sent through e-mail will not be accepted.
Selection criteria are the academic profile of the student and availability of suitable project guide in the area of interest of the student. Number of students selected may vary from year to year. Period for the winter and summer projects will be from 10th December to 9th June and 10th June to 9th December respectively in the calendar year. Last dates for receiving applications for winter and summer projects are 1st October and 1st April respectively in every calendar year.
Only the selected candidates will be informed about their selection, approximately 15 days before the probable date of starting their project work.
Financial Assistance:
Only Post-graduate students selected for project work are eligible for financial assistance, which includes: (i) monthly stipend of Rs. 1000/- for the duration of project work, (ii) reimbursement of "to and fro" second class railway fair, from the place of study to Indore or ordinary bus fare, and (iii) free accommodation in RRCAT Guest House, subject to its availability. Financial Assistance is given provided the student is not getting stipend, scholarship etc. from any other source. This must be certified by the Head of Department/ Institution. The financial assistance is subject to satisfactory performance during the course of project work certified by the project guide.
Please note that accommodation in RRCAT Guest House will not be provided to postgraduate and undergraduate students of local (Indore) academic institutions.
